Career Rob goes Strikerless... for the third time

The one challenge on here I love the most is created by @Foxy - it’s the One Season Strikerless Challenge:

I think we all know the rules: you don’t have any strikers and three selected attacking midfielders get your points. You grab those precious points from league points, goal difference, overall goals, and overall assists.

This time I opted with Celtic with my main target to beat my previous score of 368 and hopefully crack 400. 

The players I went with were:

Scarpa is one of my faves this year. He is so reliable and such good value for money.

Sinclair was already at the club and filled my criteria. I never considered him before, but his stats are much better than expected.

For the third spot I used our Olympic Challenge favourite.

Del Boy’s brother Rodney came in.

I forgot to screenshot the transfers and will go back and grab them if required. Reynoso, Zaracho, Rajkovic, and the boys were my main signings. Tierney, Dembele, and another striker who I’ve forgotten left.

The season pretty much went as expected, except we drew more than I had hoped, mostly because the second half of the season had a lot of crap player conditioning.

We bagged 122 league goals. 

And a goal difference of 70. The league points were 93. 163 league points towards the total then. I’d hoped for nearer 200. Room for improvement there!

But when you add in the cups, we hit a total of 222 goals.

Worth noting we made a net profit on transfers too, which I didn’t notice until after and could have helped with squad conditioning. We came third in our CL group too, sending us in to the UEFA Cup, which I was more than pleased with. We did have this result in the CL.

We had a few injuries along the way:

The double whammy in Oct really annoyed me, but that’s the game sadly. Sinclair’s was immediately after his goals in the Porto game. Zaracho also got injured in March too and that was a massive blow.

So, we got 163 league points. What goals and assists could the boys get?

Roddy got an excellent 73 points. Sadly his average rating wasn’t 10 😭 

236 points so far.

Scarpa got 68. I love this guy!

304 points now. Sinclair was on pens and free kicks, so let’s look at him:

84 from Scotty! He was superb.

That’s 388 points, which beats my previous total. I didn’t smash the 400 mark, which was annoying. But injuries are a part of this wonderful, but annoying, game was play.

Great effort mate despite not quite getting to 400 pts but hey you got about 140 pts more then me. I do think you may be a little addicted to this challenge though!

Thanks mate. I’m planning a Strikerless TT career one day, although there are no leaderboards for that 😥

Great job mate. Scarpa is great value this year, but what impressed me the most is what you got out of Sinclair. I've never had much success with him and he's always amongst the first sold when I have a Celtic career, but he was massive here!
