Career Rob tries the Fabled Number 10 Shirt Challenge

One challenge I’ve seen on here a few times and wanted to give a go was this one:

Basically, Juventus, seven seasons, seven number tens, and points from the goals and assists of that one player. The player must be from specific countries and in a specific order.

First up is Ireland. Like most who have attempted the challenge I chose this guy:

We ‘rapped’ up a deal for Jazzy Jeff from Burnley. Decent attributes, but not as good as the other players we have.

I did my usual amount of Harry Redknapping to get my squad as near to what I want.

Basically players who suited my formation, plus some investments. I’m super conscious that I will have to replace Buffon sometime soon, which will take a nice slice out of my transfer kitty.

So, how did the team do?

We won the league, but we lost more games than I expected. We didn’t win any Cup silverware. Not an especially successful club season, but that’s not the point of this challenge.

We scored 118 league goals and continued that rate in to the Cups.

Jeff contributed fairly well over the year. His end attributes looked good:

Some lovely greens, especially in the physicals. I’m pleased with how he turned out as it shows my training seems to work.

Let’s have a look at his final stats:

Boom, shake the room, a combination of 73 goals/assists. Job done! Pretty much a goal a game with an assists every other. He had an average rating of 8.04

Season 1 - Ireland: 73 points

Total: 73 points

France next. Wish me luck!

This looks like an awesome challenge and you have done really well @Rob2017 look forward to following how you get on with this one and who you choose from each nation. Really is some big shoes to fill. Jeff’s final stats for the season are looking great and 49 goals is fantastic for an AMC, really nice work mate. Hopefully a better cup run for you next season and even better results.

And here is season 2. The Fabled Number 10 this year has to be French. There are quite a few options around and I wanted to keep to the spirit of the challenge and opt for someone with no greens up front, so I went for this man.

C7851270-1987-4429-BB5C-1AA2766C67C3.thumb.png.f68aac175344a4ad15d62f5ac67517b9.png

Mr Lemar joined us at Juventus, along with these chaps.

814DCF0F-C7E1-4B2A-9358-3F371C2A480D.thumb.png.907530067833162a4520b2479a25eb69.png

Two useful free transfers. One of which went out for a profit. Buh-bye Bernard.

Jazzy Jeff went back to Bel Air. He also made the Team if the Season for his season with us too:

DFAF58F5-BB7D-48D8-B51F-41E2BB5D97F5.thumb.png.c0848ac6c767e15673fdc440ba5365d7.png

Anyhow, how did the team do?

We stormed the league and domestic cups, smashing in goals a plenty. Got a standard FMMing in the CC quarters, which was annoying.

Lemar was brilliant for us, assisting and scoring plenty.... up until this point:

646EE8C8-9A05-42BF-B1E9-647E2AC0D8E9.thumb.png.ae90c0edfb7391f97579f7609699a65c.png

So he missed the last two months of the season, just before our CC quarter. I could have cried.

His final attributes look a bit naff...

14D97B86-498E-4C6B-828A-6AAFDC80894A.thumb.png.602c54a9ce9635310dff2353fa0dfb28.png

... due to injury, but his final stats were great.

D24940B1-02AE-434E-9E4C-2F07836ECE94.thumb.png.3a7bae37cee7ca289a9b77b638009f1c.png

75 in 41 games. Almost two goals/assists a game. 8.36 average rating. He nabbed Best in Europe too.

So that is me caught up with my postings. I’m content so far. Lemar could have gotten me a lot more had he stayed fit.

Season 1 - Ireland: 73

Season 2 - France: 75

Total: 148.

Italy next!

Thanks. The Italy one is kinda obvious when you consider I ain’t including players with striking greens or players at the club already.

Great start mate. Still in awe of your wheeling/dealing powers! To get that much out of Jazzy Jeff was simply supurb and I can only guess how far Lemar would have gone if not for that injury.

Can't wait to see what's next.

Great season. You could of got over 100 without that injury.

Cheers. All a bit ‘what could have been’, but he wouldn’t have kept up the run rate in the business end of the season.

Thanks dude. The temptation to wheel and deal is too much. I think that’s why I never win much first season.

Haha, I'm the same. Gotta totally clear out the squad and get my guys in, but then it takes a while for them to develop (I always emphasise youth). I enjoy that part of the game and by the time I have a super-strength squad, it starts getting boring...
