It’s a shame about his tackling too otherwise he’d be an ok CB. He’d make a pretty decent full back of sorts. He’s lacking in a certain key area for most positions to be honest though!

Looks a hell of a lot better then when you started 😂

February

Only three games to delve into this month, so the squad had some ample time to recuperate after a hectic December/January.

Gameweek 27: Huddersfield (H)

An absolute football masterclass here. Limited them to a single shot off target and put away three goals of our own. Unfortunately neither Maguire was in on those goals

Gameweek 28: Watford (H)

Forgot to mention this man here! James Ward Prowse, a January signing for the team as he was transfer listed and I wanted to try and make use of his impeccable crossing attribute and set piece skills to try and craft some more goals for the Maguires. Back to the game at hand, we found ourselves 2-0 down before Harry and Ward-Prowse struck to secure a vital point in the total race against a dogged Watford side.

Gameweek 29: Man City (A)

Dominate the play against City yet again. This time we find ourselves on the winning side too.

Month Review:

A successful month once again. Shame about the dropped points against Watford but we certainly made up for it with a huge win against City at the Etihad.

League Table:

We carve open a 10 point cushion and surely now with 9 games to go we are favourites for the league title?

The Slab Head Brothers

Harry Maguire:

Slight drop in form since the new year but 28 goals in 30 games from a centre half is nothing to laugh about certainly.

Laurence Maguire:

No goals from Laurence this month but he’s still sitting pretty on 9 at the moment which I’m ok with, I feel he’s got a bit more left to give though.

March

Gameweek 30: Crystal Palace (A)

Well well well, could the wheels be coming off of this Leicester City machine? Or is it just a minor blip? Let’s hope for the latter! The Maguire Goals really cushioned the blow in this otherwise abysmal performance

Gameweek 31: West Brom (H)

More dropped points! Oh god this could be our worst month of the season.

Gameweek 32: Tottenham (A)

It really is our worst month of the season. One point from our three matches this month could have potentially derailed our title chances!

League Table:

Liverpool close the gap to three points after our worst month of the campaign. A real setback and I hope we can get through April in better form!

April

Gameweek 33: West Ham (H)

Back to winning ways, and what a way to do it. We fell behind to an Andy Carroll goal but Maguire pulls one back before nodding in a 93rd minute winner. Huge three points in the title race!

Gameweek 34: Man Utd (H)

We simply outclass the Red Devils as we put March behind us, Harry amongst the goals once again.

Gameweek 35: Burnley (A)

Our wonderful April form continues as we put Burnley to the sword with Harry yet again on the scoresheet!

Gameweek 36: Newcastle United (A)

We finish April off with a bang. A 4-1 away victory against the Magpies with Laurence on the scoresheet. A perfect way to end a perfect month.

League Table:

Surely it’s impossible to let this slip! 6 points clear with two games to go and and our GD is way ahead of the trailing pack. Leicester City are on the brink of Premier League glory once again!

Harry Maguire:

Super month for the big man with four goals in four matches.

Laurence Maguire:

A solitary goal for Laurence this month, could he be hitting some sort of form with two games of the season to play?

Tough March teamwise (not bad slabhead wise though), but all back on track now! You've surely got the League sown up. I'm gonna say:

  • 2-1 against Chelsea with one slabhead goal
  • 3-2 against Everton with one slabhead goal

If both those slabhead goals are from Laurence, then you'll end up 1 point behind @Woody. So maybe you better find another goal or two from Harry. No pressure! 😄

May

This is it, the final two matches of the season. Starting with a home tie against Premier League giants, Chelsea.

Gameweek 37: Chelsea (H)

MAGUIREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Super Laurence pops up with a hatrick out of absolutely nowhere!! I did not see that one coming! My head went after this result came through. Leicester City are Premier League Champions, again.

Gameweek 38: Everton (H)

We finish the season with a 3-3 draw against the Toffees with Harry grabbing himself a brace to finish the season in some sort of style!

League Table:

We finish up 10 points clear of our closest rivals Chelsea in the title race. Superb season, enjoyed this title win more than any other this year to be honest!

The Slab Head Brothers

Let’s have a look at the lads final points tally for the season then.

Harry Maguire:

The big man finished with 36 goals from 39 games. I couldn’t be happier with that return. His early season form was much better than the latter stages but it’s still a great return for a CB.

Laurence Maguire:

That hatrick will be all I remember him for to be honest! He managed 14 goals throughout the season, with his form being better in the second half of the season, which panned out nicely considering Harry’s drop in form at the same stage.

133133E2-4F10-4D01-81A8-7ED33CB11388.thumb.png.556a2799d4a1891e125f078692e2089b.pngC7A45168-DD15-42C2-AB31-86C27A6BB35E.thumb.png.d8293f674da4baf6516fadda0d68dd00.png

Points

Harry: 36

Laurence: 70

League: 85

Total: 191

Final Thoughts:

Firstly i have to say sorry to @Woody, the hatrick from Laurence was the decider in our points totals and I felt really bad when you posted your score because I’d already completed my season a week prior! Secondly, I’d like to thank everyone who’s commented on this thread with some kind words. Finally I’d like to thank @Foxy in coming up with this quirky one season challenge, it’s been a very enjoyable save to change the pace of my usual ones, would you kindly update the leaderboard with my Welsh ass firmly atop the EME leaderboard 😝

Depends, on a scale between 1 and Katherine Jenkins how nice is your Welsh ass?

Great score that! Nearly a goal a game from Harry and just over 1 goal in 2.5 games from Laurence is a great return from these couple of slab heads.

It falls roughly between the go compare man and Christian Bale last time I checked
