So having put up Breel Embolo’s “before and after” stats, I thought I’d find the same for Isaac Success. Not such a marked gain but still pretty impressive....especially since the scouts recommended looking elsewhere 😛

Season 9 - 2025/2026

So where do PSG and the deadly duo go after the highs of last year?

The board are happy again

 

I banged on about transfers enough in the between season post, so nothing further to say here!

Cup Results

Wins in the season openers  - although we left it so very, very late in the Euro Super Cup😅

And we’re World Champions again! Oh, I love typing that 😎

Always nice to beat Monaco - especially in a final.

 

Contrary to the conventional wisdom of playing a second team in early rounds of the cup, I’ve found it pays (at least in challenge terms) to play my strongest, most attack-minded teams in these games. 😎

League

A good early victory....but it’s strange how I only see results like this as 3 goals for the deadly duo and feel almost disappointed that other players have scored 🤔

We still can’t go a season unbeaten in the Ligue.....and look who ended our record this year 😡

But we won the Ligue quite easily in the end

 

Champions League

So could we actually defend our Champions League crown this year?

We managed to navigate through a relatively tight semi-final against Barcelona

Going into the final against a very in-form Real Madrid, I was hoping to maybe sneak a win. I wasn’t expecting this 😯

After such a great season for PSG in general, and for Breel and Isaac in particular, can we do the same again 🤞

Messed up the domestic season opener but redeemed ourselves in the european one

 

We are World Champions again! 😎

 

Struggled in an early round of the Coupe de la Ligue but survived penalties to go through and eventually win the final.

 

More convincing in early round of the French Cup

And our French Cup final was another final win against Nantes

Our unbeaten run didn’t even last until Christmas 😯

But we eventually won with games to spare.

We came up against last year’s beaten finalist in the quarter final.

We started well in the first leg

Funnily enough the Manager Profile screen isn’t one I look at much because I’ve always ended up frustrated by the various Manager Attributes that always seem to be red or brown even when I’m doing well. Probably just my lack of understanding 🤔

I’m particularly excited about the prospects for this guy (who is strangely reminiscent of my biggest money signing from many seasons ago 😁 ). He’ll go straight into my squad to try and grow his stats quickly.

AI Rant

Whenever I play for a long career, I notice that the quality of the players in other teams drops away and the AI clubs do a really poor job of training up new talent and maintaining old players. 

This is perfectly demonstrated in these scout rankings where you have to go all the way down to number 20 before you find a player who has not been trained up at PSG.

It takes something away from the game when you can no longer recruit quality experienced players (who aren’t ex-players). 😕

At the start Breel Embolo had 23 goals and Isaac Success had 15. So their goals for PSG are:

Breel Embolo: 795 - 23 = 772

Isaac Success: 601 - 15 = 586

 

Breel’s last 3 seasons were 74, 60, 72 so he needs to up his game a little.

Season 13 - 2029/2030

So here is the next gripping (?) installment of the Subolo DT challenge. A big thank-you to everyone who has taken the time to read, comment or encourage along the way in the lives-and-times of Breel Embolo and Isaac Success 👏

Before we start: I decided against focussing on Breel Embolo (and seeing if he could make 1000 goals) and instead decided to continue with both strikers and try and do the best Double-Trouble attempt that I can. If Embolo does make 1000 goals that will just be the icing on the cake. (I am grateful to @Kanegan for making me think about this possibility)

No incoming players and just a few out. After 12 years (mostly as sub unfortunately) it was time for João Félix to move on.

This is the first time in years of playing FMM that I have really pushed these in my transfer dealings and it is so worth it!  It’s like free money every year 💰

On the DT front, it just shows how lucky we’ve been so far with injuries. Hopefully we can recover over the summer and have a mostly injury-free next season 🤞

I knew we had a good season but I was gobsmacked when I saw these totals. Good job they haven’t implemented drugs testing in FMM because these 2 must have been on something this year 😜

 

So a stellar season by every measure  - unbeaten in the Ligue, Champions League winners and a great DT score by the deadly duo.

The only slight downside is that neither Breel nor Isaac will cancel their retirement plans for the end of next season. 😕
