The 80’s Everton Challenge

Credit to @danovic78 for this challenge

Just a week before the club faced a tricky FA Cup third round tie at Stoke City, just 13,659 fans turned up to watch an abysmal 0-0 draw against Coventry at Goodison Park, with protest leaflets handed out by fans spelling out their feelings towards the chairman and manager: “Kendall and Carter must go. 26,000 stay-away fans can’t be wrong.” Everton were 16th in the league and apparently going nowhere. Defeat at Stoke or Oxford in the forthcoming FA Cup and Milk Cup ties did not bear thinking about for Kendall. Goals from Andy Gray and Alan Irvine secured a 2-0 against Stoke and started the rags to ribbons story for Kendall and his team, as the road to Wembley began.

From when Kendall took over in May 1981 till the time he left June 1987 he has transformed the team into the most successful side in the clubs history but can you repeat it?

Challenge Rules

  • Load up England and any other countries and take charge of Everton.
  • You have six seasons in which to replicate the trophies won in the Kendall period.
  • You must win 2 League Titles, 1 FA Cup, 3 Charity Shields and 1 European Trophy.
  • Also you must sign an English striker and he must score 30 league goals in one season (Think Gary Lineker 85-86)
  • Own formations only.
  • No unlockables, edited databases, or use of any of the editors.
  • Evidence is required, I'd suggest posting a career thread for us to follow.
  • No cheating - Restarting to avoid injuries counts as cheating!!

Thinking about giving this challenge a go, would I need to sign the English striker in my first season

Not necessarily but you must sign one that scores 30 league goals in order to complete the challenge within the six seasons.
