What an exciting career you've got here! It is very fun to see the changes in your team. I'm guessing it is really hard to fight against inconsistency. It is a shame you lost that game against Liverpool, but you have to be thankful for the disallowed goals from Hazard. he could've been the one to leave. KIU

I'm glad you are enjoying it. I'm glad that FMM doesn't feature Team Cohesion or tactical familiarity like the PC version does otherwise the team would be a mess 😂

Those disallowed goals are a funny one as it would have meant Hazard moving to Liverpool which would have been annoying but it would have also meant a draw and I hate to lose! I guess in the long run Hazard could win me a lot more points then just the 1 we missed out on in this game.

Match Days 15 and 16

After the defeat to Liverpool yesterday and a lucky escape as Hazard had a stinker  and managed to stay at the club we face another tough match as we take on Man City at home followed by what should be an easier game against West Ham.

Match Day 15 versus Man City @ Home

I’m starting to think Hazard enjoys life down on the south coast, and who can blame him as Bournemouth is great, as he helped us come from 2 down to beat Man City 4-2! We went in 2-1 down at HT but in the 2nd half we found our scoring boots by knocking in 3 and sealing an excellent win in this top of the table clash.

This means we will be taking 2 players from The Citizins and it doesn’t take a genius to work out that one of those players will be Agüero, yes he is a bit of a sick note at times but he is going to make a formidable partner to Hazard in the SS role.

The other take was between Mendy and Sterling and it’s the Englishman that will be joining Sergio on the bus home. He is a good player and a good addition but I am well stocked with widemen at the moment so he will be a back-up to Hazard at the moment.

This win wasn’t enough to take us above Liverpool.

Match Day 16 versus West Ham Away

After a win like that how could West Ham cause us any problems?

Well of course this is as this is FMM and it loves to screw you over!

Maybe a little unfair on the game and we simply didn’t perform as we can and crucially didn’t take enough of the chances we did have. It was even worse that Andy Carroll scored on his one game away from the physios table and Sergio got a debut goal.

The big question is who will be leaving following this defeat?

Aguero got an 8 on debut meaning he has an AvR of 8 which is higher then Rose or Schurrle has for us and I was already wave goodbye to him after just one game but then luckily I remembered one of the rules of this challenge.

Quote

Any players I win are immune from being transfered out in the next match.

So I got lucky as Sergio gets at least one more match for us!

That means that Andre Schurrle time at Bournemouth is at an end and he will be returning to London. He is a good player but it isn’t a major lose as I had hardly used him and I have good options in his positions.

This lose means that we go back below Man City and we are now 3pts from top.

Match Day 17 and 18

The aim today is to bounce straight back from the West Ham loss and get back to winning ways but it will be tough as we take on Chelsea first followed by Wolves.

Match Day 17 Chelsea @ Home

Sometimes this game is so bloody irritating! In fact just like real football but that may be because I’m an Oxford fan that I say that.

We dominated this game yet our defence really let us down, perhaps due to the loss of Nathan Ake. As we drew that means it is a straight swap for my highest rated player for there’s so is bloody annoying that Gironde got a brace in this match.

Nothing personal against the big Frenchie as I think he is an excellent targetman but he doesn’t fit into the Gegenpressing tactic at all. Going the other way was between two of the goalscorers Hazard and Agüero and no immunity was going to save Sergio this time as he heads to Chelsea after only 2 games with us.

Match Day 18 versus Wolves Away

Wolves were sat in 9th going into this game so they are having a good season but are certainly beatable.

They might have been beatable but we certainly didn’t manage to beat them, we had rested a few players for this game as we had a few tired legs but that was still no excuse for a poor performance on the day as the players I put out should have done the job.

68AB7B6E-5FDC-44A7-9231-F05C70A5CDBE.thumb.png.52984268ae0c73f71a6a4787756aafd2.png

Hazard had one of his off days and he is starting to blow hot and cold in this save but that did mean he was safe. Our star man on the day was Lerma in the BBM role and that was ok as he was brought in for a tired Barkley and isn’t a really crucial player for us.

Would much rather have been stealing one of there lads though.

This result sees us drop out the top 4 for I think the first time this season and it’s time to put that to a stop and get back to winning ways.

Im with Dutch...FMM can be soo cruel.

Your in the perverbial mix though mate as the other teams have dropped points too it keeps you within a few wins.

Its kinda depressing to have Aguero then lose him 2 games later ,😃

Could of been but Hazard seems to like Bournemouth at the moment and seems to be making sure he stays by either playing a worldie or being shit.

Match Day 19 and 20

We have had a sticky little run with 2 defeats and a draw in the last 3 games and the horror of Agüero leaving as well so it is time to get back on track and we have the perfect couple of games to do that today.

Match Day 19 versus Crystal Palace @ Home

This seemed a good game to get back to winning ways and so it proved. Two goals in the first 21 minutes put us in control before Big Ben Gibson got a second 17 minutes from time to seal the win.

Palace are the classic lower Premier League side in that they have a lot of average players but also a couple of useful lads in there as well. We nabbed a couple of the useful ones with Zaha and Riedewald despite his red card joining us. I was hoping Meyer would join them but it was Martin Kelly who has the highest AvR out of the 7 scorers so we add a decidedly average RB/CB to the squad.

Still not a bad days work though.

Match Day 20

This is another perfect opportunity for 3 points but also a game were I wasn’t sure there was anyone in the Terriers squad a really wanted but then I don’t want them getting there hands on Hazard so let’s get this won.

Damn did we need to work for this result!

This was another one of those games when Hazard just didn’t bother turning up and I whipped him off for Josh Murphy half way through the 2nd half and the change worked as Mighty Murphy smashed in the winner in injury time to avoid us losing a player.

Had Murph not scored we would have lost Josh King who has been good as an SS so far this save so it was a vital goal.

We took Sabiri from Huddersfield who looks ok in parts, such as his passing, movement and creativity but very very average else where like his teamwork and decisions but he goes into the squad to be used if needed.

Match Days 21 and 22

I have really earmarked the League Cup as a chance of silverware this season so this quarter final against Everton is one of my biggest games so far this season.

Match Day 21 Everton @ Home

We had this game all sewn up in the first 34 minutes as we raced into a 3-0 lead and we still had it sewn up when Walcott got a consolation in the 72nd minute. It then seemed a little less sewn up when Gylfi made it 3-2 and by the 88th minute I was swearing like a trooper!

In the end penalties saw us through but bloody hell was this game annoying.

95A39D19-5F18-4600-8D7B-ED5F5D08C837.thumb.png.ca0ef0caa3951866352c0d36d668d5fc.png

So as this game finished as a draw it will be a straight swap of our highest AvR player for there’s with the worry being Barkley and Hazard scoring and they are 2 of my 3 highest AvR in the squad.

60BD5FA2-E711-4191-B30E-2485C62A2081.thumb.png.8fae4e6cd8e651673cd1c02c54630c22.png

I subbed off Hazard and Barkley at half time with them both on 8’s and that saved them I think as Rose played all game and got himself a 9 as he had an assist as well as a goal and he is off to Merseyside with Theo Walcott coming to us.

That leaves us short of a LWB and we bring in another wide man to add to our growing list.

Match Day 22 Burnley Away

We return to league action with an away day to Lancashire.

Hazard showed his importance again by winning and then converting the penalty that got us a win despite a flat performance from us in this game. After we lost Rose in the last game I wouldn’t have minded taking Robbie Brady of Burnley to add to our left side numbers.

F9BBB366-A269-4395-9401-8E5C73186F8F.thumb.png.7adc74cedbb51289bec26c588b3abede.png

It was a sea of 7’s for Burnley and no Robbie Brady in site. The player I stole was Charlie Taylor who’s name rang a bell but I don’t know much about him.

Turns out he is a good LB/LWB and he will go straight into the team as my starting LWB so I was delighted to get him.

We are still 3rd and only 2 points off top and we have a semi final versus Middlesbrough in January to look forward to so not a bad couple of games today.

Tomorrow’s Update: We have two more games before the end of 2018 as we have Arsenal who are a point behind us away first and then Southampton at home to end the year.

What was the reason for subbing Hazard and Barkley off at half time against Everton? Did they get knocks or did you want to give others a run out as you were 3-0 up?

As it was a midweek game and I was 3-0 up and arrogantly thought I had the game won I wanted to give my two most important players a rest with the busy Christmas period coming up. Whether it made a difference to the end result or not I don’t know.
