See I imagine the team bus heading up the motorway followed by a convoy of removal trucks with all the players stuff in them just in case they have to go home on the other teams bus after the match.

Match Days 9 and 10

We have 2 league games today and both are very winnable as we travel along the south coast to take on Brighton and then Newcastle make the long trip to Dorset.

Match Day 9

It was likely we would lose at some point but after the results we have been getting it was frustrating to lose to Brighton especially as we were in control of the game at 2-0 up and even with 7 minutes left we looked like we would win. Lukaku got his 4th goal for us and then Brooks showed why @Woody rates him so highly.

So a first loss of the season and we will be losing a player as well 😕 Unsurprisingly it will be one of the goal scorers but which one.

Big Rom is on his way after 4 goals in 4 games which is a real ball ache but is cushioned by the fact that we do have Hazard still in the team.

Despite the loss we are still up in 2nd in the league.

Match Day 10

A home game versus Newcastle next and a chance to get back on track.

Fraser gave us a 4th minute lead and then it was the Hazard show as he showed why Lukaku leaving might not be that bad with a hat trick on debut, he never played in the Brighton game as he was knackered. Ake was sent of just before the hour mark and the Mags threw everything at us but we held firm and they only had a 90th minute goal as consolation.

That means 3 lads won’t need to make the long trip back up north but who will it be?

Despite getting hammered a few Newcastle players had good games and it went to AvR to see who would be staying in Bournemouth.

Hayden looks the best take to me as he could fill in at BBM or DLP, Atsu is all pace and not much end product but he is left footed so he can fill in for Ryan Fraser on the left wing and Manquillo looks a bang average RB to me.

This win kept us in 2nd place.

Tomorrow we take on Cardiff and Leicester in the Premier League.

Tbf I used to really rate Manquillo in game as he was a solid defensive full back which he could still be for you with a point or two. Never rated him irl though and I'm not surprised we cancelled his two year loan.

Match Day’s 11 and 12

We lost Big Rom in the last update and then we saw Hazard step up to fill his goal scoring boots but we are only one bad game away from him leaving just as Lukaku did.

Match Day 11 versus Cardiff Away

The trouble with these kinds of games against poorer teams is that you get a good win and then you have to take 3 average players of that team but it is better then losing of course.

Another straight forward win and a clean sheet meaning we will be taking 3 players from them and the Cardiff squad isn’t completely devoid of talent. Hazard also showed how crucial it is we can keep hold of him.

You have to wonder about the ratings in this game sometimes as Cardiff loss 3-0 but they have 4 players score 8’s. I was hoping we could take Paterson but it turned out that it was the other 3 that had higher AvR’s. Murphy is a good capture though and Smithies can become my number 2, Sean Morrison just joins the long list of half decent CB’s that I already have in the squad.

Match Day 12 Versus Leicester at Home

This game was too close for comfort as if Wilson hadn’t got the 90th minute winner we would have faced the prospect of losing Barkley to The Foxes and he is shaping up to be a really important player for me in one of the BBM roles.

Look at the difference between the Leicester player ratings and the Cardiff ratings in the game above. Leicester played really well against us yet the ratings look very average, we dominate Cardiff and they have 5 players on 8’s 🤪

We will be taking Christian Fuchs from The Foxes. Not a bad LB but he is a bit slow for my tastes as a WB or W in my tactic.

Unsurprisingly this win kept us at the top of the table.

No great players added to the squad but if we hadn’t got that late winner it would have been much worse.

In other news the squad is now full with the addition of Fuchs. I will be moving some less used players into the reserves and releasing some of the youngsters in order to make sure I have room for them as we go on.

Tomorrow’s update: We take on Fulham in the League Cup 4th round and then take on 3rd place Liverpool at Anfield.

True but it could have been much worse if Wilson hadn’t scored, better to gain 1 average player then gain him and lose a good player in Barkley.

Match Days 13 and 14

I think that the cups might be our best chance of silverware this season as winning the league may be a bit much for us despite our excellent start so the first game in the update today is crucial as we take on Fulham in the League Cup 4th round.

Match Day 13 Fulham @ Home

I decided to rest a few players for this game such as Hazard and the midfield duo of Barkley and Johansen but it didn’t effect the performance as we cruised into the 5th round (quarter finals?) with a 3-0 win.

A few decent lads in the Fulham squad including Fosu-Mensah, Schurrle and Vietto and as luck would have it 2 of these were the guys we added to the squad. 

We got Cairney, Vietto and Schurrle. The 2 forwards may come in handy and they are decent players as is Cairney although he isn’t really BBM material in my mind.

Match Day 14 versus Liverpool Away

We go into this game top of the league and Liverpool sit in 3rd but this is me of our biggest tests this year so far.

I did consider resting Hazard in this game just in case I lost and he went but in the end I want to win and I stand more chance of that if he is on the pitch. In the end it really wasn’t his day as he had 2 goals chalked off for offside and I subbed him of as it just wasn’t happening for him. Saying that it didn’t really happen for anyone today as Liverpool took an early lead and then we couldn’t get back into the game, when Bobby scored a 3rd in injury time I was ready to wave goodbye to 3 players but Mousset decided he wanted a move to Anfield and popped up with a goal with the last kick of the game. That did mean we only lost 2 players instead of 3 but Lys has been good so far this season so it was a shame to lose him.

I took a screenshot of the subs that came of as well just to prove that Hazard played and only scored a 6 So was safe. Moving to Anfield with Mousset was CB Ake which was as equally big blow as he has been really solid at the back this year  so it was an all round bad day for us.

This result took the Scousers to the top of the league and dropped us down to 2nd but no need to panic just yet let’s wait till we play Man City first.

Tomorrow’s update: Life gets no easier as we take on Man City at home and then whoever is left after that game will take to the field against West Ham.
