The next challenge is all @Rob2017 work so hopefully he will remember his own rules on that one!

I wouldn’t bet against it.

For anyone who cares - I spent the whole week moaning to Foxy (who talked me in to taking part) about the challenge, then realised my mistake this morning with six league games to go when I went over the rules/screenshots bit in his challenge post. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Shit happens 🤣

Back stronger and all that. Some pretty fine scores there. Now it's up to the following pack to catch up with that Nukeface. Go get him!

I came in here to see @Jens make a fool of himself. Boring so far.

Bottom of the pile again. Saved just by @Rob2017 messing up.  My assisters screwed it up for me. Expected a lot more from Okazaki but he spent half of the season injured.

I believe my total should be 56, though nothing important.

It could be important as if anyone finishes on the same points then total points across all 4 challenges will decide positions.

I will get the graphic changed as I have 56 on my spreadsheet so I can’t even manage to follow my own work 😕

Challenge 2

As a renowned poet once wrote:

The old strikers had all their fun;
In the land of Trump, burgers, and guns;
But let’s forget the attack;
Think of the boys at the back;
And give them their moment in the sun!’

Back in 2016 Portugal upset the apple cart by being defensively astute on the way to winning the European Championship. Some say they were boring, other branded them stifling, but those people don’t understand that football isn’t just about scoring goals. Nope, nadda, nah... football is also about keeping it tight at the back.

The core of that defensive unit was their first choice central defensive pairing of Jose Fonte and Pepe, who had a combined age of 65. With Bruno Alves and Ricardo Carvalho their back-ups at even older ages of 34 and 38 it showed that experience ruled.

In this challenge your experienced defenders will rule too. Any players with any shade of green in any of the defensive positions - sweeper, right-back, left-back, or centre-back - have to be the age of 34 or older at the end of the first transfer window.

Now we want these players to be kept fit and healthy for as long as possible, which means the best conditions to flourish. For this to happen we will be heading over to Italy and AC Milan.

Home to the famous Milan Lab, where players go to play on until they are 127, AC Milan will be your club for this challenge. They are also a club known for historically superb defenders so they fit like a glove.

The point scoring will be simple, but also lean towards you having to have a find a balance. Your score will be your league points minus goals conceded. Any tie break will be sorted on goals conceded with least first.

The rules:

    ⁃    All players with any shade of green in the back lines must be 34 or over at the end of the first transfer window. No defenders are to be obtained after this date. No defenders with any other colours are permitted;
    ⁃    All other transfers are permitted - ROB!
    ⁃    Don’t cheat. Everyone in this challenge is sound so this won’t happen;
    ⁃    Own tactics;
    ⁃    Load AC Milan and any other leagues you want;
    ⁃    Loans are allowed;
    ⁃    No unlockables;
    ⁃    Any badge and reputation allowed

Screenshots:

    ⁃    Player ages at the end of the first transfer window;
    ⁃    Transfers at the end of the season;
    ⁃    League table at the end of the season;
    ⁃    Players ordered by appearance at the end of the season;
    ⁃    Final manager history and profile;
    ⁃    Your bank details;
    ⁃    A hippopotamus

The deadline is 5pm Thursday 13th December, with screenshots submitted to @Foxy.

Thanks, and enjoy.

So we're allowed to play young defenders who are only yellow at the back?

No. Your defenders must be 34 or older.

I read the rules very carefully. Yellow isn't green 😏

Rob, just incase I f**k up. Are goalkeepers excluded from this right? Just defenders. Basically, can I use Donnarumma? 😂

Donnarumma is fine. You know the gist of it - defenders must be 34 and older.
