Rob’s Season One Score

So before you read this remember one thing: I am using my Keegan tactic. This is designed to outscore the opponents. At no points have I changed from this tactic. Here we go...

So, the first tournament that concluded is the League Cup. Did we win it? 

Nope! Knocked out in the quarters by our North London rivals Arsenal. It wasn’t like we deserved to win either. Terrible. I am already three/four wins behind the boys after this result.

Could we at least win the FA Cup?

Just. Penalties. Burnley. Geez. We did batter them though. A team with Neymar, Salah, and Kane could only score 3 from 25 chances.

Champions League? Could we win that?

Penalties, again. At least this was against Madrid.

As for the league, here is the final table:

3 losses. We won the league though.

So, I said I’d play a mega attacking formation - my Keegan one - and see how it goes. We scored plenty, so I’ve no doubt it’ll work for scoring challenges, but obviously doesn’t lend itself to not losing the occasional game.

This, boys and girls, is why you need balance in your teams! 

I’m going to play the same tactic for the final two seasons as that’s what my squad is built for and see how many more goals and trophies we get, but evidently a sensible formation would have been more beneficial.

Setting this event to one side a minute I personally love @Rob all or nothing way of playing and I wish that I sometimes had the confidence to just say to hell with it and go all out for goals.

I have to say....that is a great season and i'm surprised you didnt beat my score atleast but it was an epic season though.

I knew you would end up scoring 200+ goals....i do think though after a season together the players should be gelled now and im sure those loses will be alot less.

WOODY'S UPDATE: SEASON 2.

Welcome one and all to my 2nd season in review.

My 2nd season objective was simply 'do better'...but did i?

 

CUP COMPETITIONS.

The season began with the usual curtain raiser..

THE COMMUNITY SHIELD.

A tight affair which nearly needed added time if not for Tierney's late winner.

THE FA CUP.

Yet again a close game which we needed penalties to win.

CARABAO CUP.

A bit of a walkover really....wish we had scored more!

CLUB WORD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

A funny old game that we made comfartable in the end despite going 2 down very early on. 2nd half was piss poor lol.

CHAMPIONS CUP.

A superb Schick inspired performance against the Parisiens.

 

LEAGUE.

The night time lurker Foxy posted a stunning 1st season in the league and i was hoping to do better.

A much improved goal difference but i couldn't keep the draws down.

OUR SQUAD.

 

Now something accurred this season i didnt know about. Man City had a contract agreed with an Irish keeper.

The deal went through automatically which ended up looking like i had spent money. 

This is the lad in question.

As you can see i released him immediately and he signed for Hibs.

 

So how does this all transfer into points.

112 wins x 3 = 336

15 draws x 1 = 15

Total = 351 overall

Current goal difference = +144

Foxy Season 2

Last season I took a healthy lead in this H2H2H but we have seen that @Woody smashed it in his 2nd season and we all know that @Rob is going to come on strong in his 2nd season too so I don’t intend to sit back and relax. In fact as we all know season 1 is usually the trickiest in any save so I hope to improve on last season and also maintain my unbeaten record.

Injuries 

Last season Mbappe had some injuries but this year he remained unscathed and the whole squad was fitter in general. We obviously didn’t completely get away injury free as Martial, Kondogbia and Vrsaljko all had knocks that kept them out for around a month each.

Nothing to see here obviously but just to confirm I never bought anyone.

Competitions

We have at least an extra 3 games if not 4 this season with the Community Shield, European Super Cup and World Club Cup so that gives me more points scoring opportunities.

Community Shield

A nice simple win to start the season as we ground Chelsea into submission.

European Super Cup

This game was closer than I would have liked but we got the job done as Kondogbia continued his good early season form.

World Club Cup

We beat a Chinese team 7-0 in the semis and then repeated the trick in the final against the best Mexico has to offer.

League Cup

Chelsea again at Wembley and again the Londoners lost.

FA Cup

This wasn’t a vintage performance by us but when you have players like Dybala you don’t always need to play that well as they have the quality to take the chances that do come there way.

Champions League

Last season we gubbed Real 4-1 in the final and this time it was “FC Hollywood’s” turn as we turned over Bayern to lift our 2nd Champions League trophy. It was nice to see my FMM18 hero Goretzka get a goal for me just for old times sake.

Premier League

This is the bread and butter and after last seasons haul of 33 wins and 5 draws I was hoping for better and keep our unbeaten record.

We did just that as we only dropped 4 points from 2 draws an only 5 goals conceded although we scored 14 goals less than last season.

Team Stats

Mbappe took advantage of playing an extra 10 games this season to score himself 59 goals from the FR position and he chipped in with 14 assists to be our most productive player this season.

We had

64 wins, 3 draws, 0 loses, 194 GF, 18 GA, +176 GD

Total Points: 195 points

Helped by having an extra 4 games this season I scored 13 points more than last year.
