Season 6

How did Parrott and the team perform in season 6? We’ll find out!

I’ll start with the transfers.

Transfers

Hakimi was brought in as cover for Alexander-Arnold at right wing back whilst I bought Pulisic to play in the flanks.

Outs

Kondogbia was sold to Arsenal as I didn’t use him enough in the end and he had turned 30. Vagnonan went to SLB and the rest were just reserve team players I let go. I think I may try to improve my transfer dealing in future seasons as I’m often buying players and then I don’t play them enough and sell them on the cheap but I suppose you can get away with it at PSG. I haven’t even been able to spend the whole transfer budget each year!

League

Ligue 1 Conforama

The league was won whilst winning every game although we did concede 9 this year. I didn’t even realise that we’d won every game until about April and then I proper tried to make sure we kept it up.

Parrott gets himself a goal in the opening game of the season.

Euro. Super Cup

Victory over Liverpool in the Euro Super Cup but Parrott couldn’t get a goal.

Club World Championship

Parrott missed a penalty in the semi final although we won the match fairly easily.

Parrott then missed another penalty in the final. He does however manage to score later in the game. Around this time he must’ve missed about 5 or 6 penalties and I was beginning to think about taking him off them for my own sanity. I think he missed 2 in one game at one point.

Coupe de la Ligue BKT

A goal for Parrott helped the team win the final but we’d have liked more goals.

French Cup

I forgot about last season and the cup game which is on during the international break and I struggled to put a team out for the quarter final. Luckily I had a few players in the reserve team to play but it was still a very weak team that managed to get the job done. I think next season I’ll take all of the youth players that come through just so I’ve got options for this game if it falls in the international break again.

We won the final but Parrott couldn’t get a goal just like in last years final.

Champions Cup

A very one sided final but we just didn’t bring our shooting boots and relied on penalties to get the win. Ironically Parrott managed to score his penalty which was a surprise.

Parrott’s Season

Worst season since the first season for Parrott. He started brilliantly with 13 goals  in his first 7 games. He got injured during the first international break and although it was only a 3 week lay off he seemed to take ages to get going again and then he started missing penalty after penalty. His form picked up big style in February to March time and then he hit a brick wall after the International break.

Good increase in stamina.

Season 7

When I started this challenge I had a tactic where a good percentage of team goals were scored by the striker so I thought I’d use that but modify it slightly to make it more aggressive and hopefully score more goals. After last seasons poor performance of 58 I decided that for this next season I would revert the instructions back to their original settings and just see what happens. So let’s see how the team and Parrott got on in season 7. I’ll go through the ins and outs first.

Oyarzabal and Vlasic were brought in to play on the flanks. Pasquali was bought as a prospect for the future; he’s a midfielder that I expect to feature heavily in the coming seasons. The rest are just graduates of which a couple look decent but I’ve kept all of them to help with that French Cup game that falls in the international break should I get that far.

Outs

Just the one out in Neymar who I was tempted to keep as he still performed well last season and produces a good few assists for Parrott but with his high wages and the fact that I’m going to have to replace him at some point I decided not to offer him a contract extension.

League

Ligue 1 Conforama

Routine league campaign although we drew a game this season and didn’t score as many goals.

We deserved the win but the match was a lot closer than you’d expect.

Euro. Super Cup

Strange match this as it was all very comfortable for the most part but we conceded 3 which was disappointing.

Club World Championship

Comfortable win for the boys but no goal for Parrott as I didn’t play him. He was slightly tired going into the semi and didn’t perform so I decided to rest him for this to hopefully get him fully fit for future games.

Coupe de la Ligue BKT

A routine win against OM but no goal for Parrott.

French Cup

We were the better team in this match but still had a struggle to get the result.

Champions Cup

A hat trick for Parrott in the final against Barca but again we didn’t defend too well in another final. Still won though.

Parrott managed 79 goals in 57 appearances which is his best total yet.

Again more improvements in stats usually by about 1 for most key attributes. Would like his strength to get up to 15 and his pace and shooting both to 20 but he’s an animal aIready and with the right tactic would put up some numbers.

Conclusion

The team didn’t score as many but Parrott got a higher percentage of the goals. I know my system is not perfect for a 1k challenge especially with using two inside forwards and a poacher but hopefully I can get Parrott over the line.

That's a good improvement and you're nearly half way at the age of 23 so no concerns. How many goals are your IF's scoring?

I try to get more playmaker types in the IF position. This is lemar’s stats so it’s between 10 and 25 with a good few assists but he is on corners. Naymar was similar but I also have Milinkovic-Savic in midfield who had been getting about 15-20 every year which is much more than any of my other midfielders. He is a beast though but he’s 31 now so I’m looking to get a permanent replacement in.

I may try my current system but with wingers in a few easy games this season to see what happens.

Season 8

Last season Parrott scores 79 goals which whilst not being anything special is the best goal tally I’ve ever had from a single player in a single season. Can Parrott improve his goal tally this season?

Cabezas came in as a young centre back for the future. Eyre and Chiosa were also bought for the future but to play in midfield and Palmer came as a replacement for Becker who was out of contract. I’ve got Palmer and two other young goalkeepers who are going to compete for the number 1 spot this season. The rest are just graduates with a couple looking good prospects but I kept them all to help with the cup tie that is played during the international break should we get that far.

Mbappe went in January; I just didn’t play him enough as I mainly used him as cover for Parrott so I thought I’d get a decent fee whilst I still could. Zouma was sold to Liverpool as I wanted to lose one defender so that Cabezas could get some game time. Politano was sold as he had turned 30 and I wanted to plan for the future. Caqueret and Vlasic ended up being poor signings so I just cut my loses and sold them. Becker wouldn’t sign an extension so he went. Rest were just graduates that never made it and a few loans.

A comfortable campaign as usual but we had 1 defeat and 3 draws; I did experiment with a few ideas at the beginning of the season which I think cost us some of those results. My goalkeepers are all young too which I think may have had an impact on my defensive record although we never had any defensive collapses throughout the season so it was probably my tinkering that did it.

We beat Monaco fairly easily with Parrott getting on the scoresheet.

Euro. Super Cup

We hammered Tottenham in the Euro Super Cup and Parrott stole the show against his old club scoring a hat trick.

Club World Championships

Another hammering in the Club World Championship but Parrott could only get one goal.

Coupe de la Ligue BKT

We beat Rennes in the final easily enough but we were a bit wasteful in front of goal.

French Cup

In the French Cup Final we played Rennes again and it was a bit more comfortable this time with Parrott getting a goal in a 3-0 win.

Champions Cup

We were probably the second best team in this close tie as I think I was a bit cautious tactically from the get go. Parrott came good though scoring the winner in extra time.

Parrott’s Season

Parrott got 80 goals this season after playing in 61 games. I’m happy with this total though as I did a bit of tweaking during the season which just didn’t work.

He’s a top top player now but I’d still like green on strength.

Conclusion

I’m happy with this season as I was taking a risk having no experienced keeper at the club and Parrott managed his highest tally of 80 which was nice for me and him of course. We move onto season 9 now and I’ve got a lot of work to do finding long term replacements for my aging squad members.

Here we are in season 9!

Last season Parrott registered 80 goals, his best tally yet so can he improve upon that in the coming season?

Tonali came in to start in the midfield. Mohammed was brought in to compete for the right wing back position as I was planning to use Alexander-Arnold in midfield a bit this season. I decided to go big on one centre back so I chose Upamancano as I’ve never managed him before but heard so much good stuff about him. Plasse came in to compete for a place on the wings. The rest are just graduates of which I’m hopeful a few will come good.

Milinkovic-Savic, Gnagnon and Fabinho all left as they were out of contract and I decided to build for the future.

Ligue 1 Corforama

Just the one draw this season which came towards the end of the season. We conceded 14 which whilst great is not as good as it has been in previous seasons. I’ve changed my passing to mixed from short which I think is helping more of the goals go to Parrott but I think the defence is slightly leakier although I am bringing in some young defenders so it may just be that.

Parrott got the season underway with a goal after just 12 minutes. We went on to win comfortably.

A brace for Parrott in the European Super Cup help us to a 4-0 win over Juventus.

Club World Championship

Well Parrott finally managed to do the business in this competition with 4 goals in a 6-1 victory in the final.

Coupe de la Ligue BKT

A nice hat trick for Parrott in the final against Rennes was enough to clinch victory.

French Cup

Parrott got a goal in a one sided final against EA Guingamp.

Champions Cup

We were the better side against Arsenal in the final but we could only win 2-1 with a Parrott getting what would be the winner after 11 minutes.

I would like to get the discipline up a bit; I usually fine players who get sent off a weeks wages but that doesn’t seem to increase it as much in this years game. I’ve spent an obscene amount of wedge too and I haven’t even been using all of the transfer money available.

 

Parrott’s Season

Parrott managed 90 goals this season which is fantastic for me. Hopefully I can keep him scoring these amounts in the coming seasons. I suppose there is a slight chance I could hit the 100 club but I’m not convinced I’ll be able to with my system but we’ll certainly try.

Parrott won world footballer of the year again but two of his teammates make up the top three this year.

Conclusion

Parrott hits his highest goal tally so far with 90 so I’m happy with that. I’m basically using my original system from the start but with mixed passing instead of short and I think it’s improving the percentage of goals going to Parrott. We move onto a new season now and hopefully Parrott can keep scoring!

Thanks for the tip! 😀 I’ve tried to tweak my tactic in terms of roles a few times during this but I’ve never had any joy. 

I decided a couple of season ago that I wasn’t going to change anymore roles and only tweak instructions and tbh I think I’m getting closer to getting my current system right but I use a poacher. Changing the passing from short to mixed has made a massive difference to the ratio of goals Parrott gets. I think if I’d have just started with mixed passing I’d have done a lot better in the earlier seasons.

Yeah I’m going to do a bit of testing with different things but I think it’s going to be after I’ve finished with this attempt. I’ll experiment with the odd change of instructions but I’m not touching the roles now cos I feel that I can get my current role set up slightly better and that’s the target now.

Season 10

Last season Parrott managed 90 goals which I suppose means that my target now has to be to get 100 goals in a season. Can he do do it this season?

We didn’t do a great deal of business in this window as the squad is strong and I’ve been rotating the players more in recent seasons to try and keep everyone happy.

We bought Jair dos Santos Martins from Brighton for 51m. He was brought in to play on the flanks.

I only keep all of the youth each season to help with the quarter final of the French Cup that falls in the middle of the international break as I nearly got caught out with that in the earlier seasons and could hardly field a team.

Thank you! I had a half decent tactic at the start and the only thing that is different now is:

The passing and gk distribution has gone from short to mixed and I’ve got work ball into box selected now which you would think would be automatic in trying to get the striker to score but I had convinced myself that it didn’t work with my roles.

Those are what got him upto the 90 goals and then over 100.

I did a little test last night with a new save with PSG with similar transfers as I used on first season of this bit I just used Cavani as striker and my new set up is better than the first albeit only over 15 games but it’s enough for me to stick with it.

Season 11

Last time out we celebrated Parrott getting over 100 club goals for the season. What can he achieve this season?

Like last season we didn’t do a lot of business. We did however have a few ins and outs.

We brought in Cesarini who is a young player who will be playing in the flanks in the coming season. Morini is a young centre back brought in from Lyon for 36.5m and I’ve got high hopes for him.

I got my son come through the academy and whilst he’s got some decent attributes for a youngster I can’t help but feel that with leadership of only 1 he won’t feature much if at all for the first team.

Conclusion

Although Parrott didn’t perform as well this season I’m still happy with his 96 goals for the season. He didn’t start the season quite so well and I take the blame for that as I think was over rotating the players and maybe some of the younger ones aren’t quite up to standard. Parrott now wants a new challenge though so we’ll see if that hinders his form in the coming season.

Season 12

We begin our new season with Parrott currently wanting a new challenge so will this have any impact on his or the teams performance?

Transfers

The only transfers were graduates coming in and a good few players leaving on a free so I won’t go into too much detail. I decided not to bring all of the graduates through this year as I think doing do is maybe having a negative effect on my transfer acumen stat. Hopefully I’ll have enough options for the one cup game during the international break.

Parrott’s Injury

Parrott started the season okay but him wanting a new challenge was having an affect on his morale. I kept praising him every few weeks which would bring it up one but it would drop again. He still performed ok with 35 goals in his first 23 games but then disaster struck. He got a 4 month injury during training. He would actually resume full training after just 3 months so it could have been worse I suppose and it is his first layoff of over 2 weeks so I can’t complain.

We had a poor season by our recent standards but I’m pretty sure it was Parrott wanting a new challenge that was hindering the teams performance a bit. I noticed we were formidable during his injury layoff and then on his first game back we draw 2-2. Never mind it is still a successful campaign.

We beat Manchester United 1-0 with a extra time penalty scored by Parrott. We were by far the better side throughout the match.

We beat Losc 3-0 in the final with Parrott getting a goal shortly after his comeback from injury.

French Cup

We beat EA Guingamp in the final 3-0 with a Parrott scoring a goal.

Disaster in the final as we lose to Porto on penalties. We were the better team in the match but couldn’t convert our chances.

Parrott’s Season

Parrott only managed 50 goals this season after suffering a long injury layoff. He wasn’t playing as well in the season anyway as he currently wants a new challenge and his morale is often low as I’m refusing to let him go.

I can’t get him to atm. He did have this a couple of seasons ago and I got him to sign straight away. I’ve got him down for another 3 seasons though so hopefully if stays injury free I’ll at least get him over the line.

Season 13

Last time out Parrott missed a third of the season due to injury so he only managed 50 goals. He spent most of the season in a strop due to the fact that he wants a new challenge but I’m refusing to let him go. This season I’d be happy with a goal total of anything over 65 so we’ll see how he got on!

I brought in Paco Hernández to play on the flanks and Vermijl came as as a centre back for the first team. Dupire is a right wing back graduate who looks good for the future. The outs were all free transfers.

Parrott’s Season

Parrott managed 74 goals this season which I’m very happy with. He is still wanting a new challenge so I’m having to praise him every few weeks to keep his morale up a bit. He was only injured for 2 weeks during the season and managed to play a good 57 games so I’m happy. His strength has also gone up to 14 which is nice!
