Without a doubt it is easier, if you want a fun save and to rack up some big numbers i definitely recommend it. The problem is attracting a quality player or starting at a club with a good player like i have, and then trying to upgrade you facilities/staff and attract good players around him.

I have no need to train him in any other positions as he is only going to be playing up front as my striker. I have found it difficult to increase his attributes significantly due to his age and my poor facilities at the start but he is good enough as he is to score plenty so i'm happy with him.

Outgoings saw some big departures, mainly because i just couldn't keep them happy.  Especially de Ligt and Lozano who were constantly requesting a transfer and dragging morale down. I decided to just take what i could for them. I am happy that i have adequate enough replacements.

So last year we only had 7 international games due to the World Cup, this year we had 16 thanks to the AFC Nations Cup, which we managed to get to the final of.

Chen missed this game due to a shoulder injury but it was actually one of our best results.

He came back for the final and scored twice but sadly wasn't enough.

This run in the AFC Nations Cup meant he had scored 12 goals before the season even started.

Chen started the season on 50 INT goals and added a massive 34 goals this year to take him up to 84 in total! He played in 15 of the 16 games and of course playing against the likes of East Timor etc helps.

Chen Shilong

Injury free season (apart from the minor one on international duty) and it certainly helped his goal return - his best season to date with 113 goals! Couple this with his 34 international goals and that is a massive 147 goals in season 6.

Season 7

Chen just seems to get better.....or maybe a few quality additions helped.

So after getting a quality left winger in last season i wanted a right winger next. After throwing numerous bids around and failing i chanced my arm at one of the big boys and would you believe it Sancho was up for it! Bizarre sometimes which players are up for the China experience and who aren't but not complaining. I recouped £90m in sales too by shifting on some players who wanted to leave.

Chen Shilong

Again he improved on last season and bizarrely added more assists which is strange as nothing has changed in my setup. It didn't take anything away from his goal return though with 119 goals at an average of 2.2 GPG, plus his 20 international goals sees him finish with 139 for the season.

Target man. I've not been able to get his aerial above 11 but he is strong and that seems to be best. I toyed briefly with complete forward but not consistent enough. I thought his aerial might spike like I've seen with other players but perhaps because he was 21 when we started i don't think it's ever going to improve.

Thanks mate, and yeah i'm tempted to see how far i can take him. He's just turned 29 but in this weak league he might be able to bang these numbers in for another 5-6 seasons yet.

Consistent is the key word. It’s taken him just one more game this season to reach the same amount of goals at same stage last season.

I have tried to trim the squad a little bit as it was becoming a bit bloated so i shifted a few on. I managed to bring in some quality half way through the season when the European season finished. Meyer and Oxford went straight into the team, couldn't resist signing Tavernier when he was released. Harrison and Barnes great options out wide. Szczepaniak looks a good Keeper and only 23.

Some man 3 seasons in a row constantly getting over 110 goals fair play ... btw its pretty much in the bag so well done and sure if he keeps getting over 100 goals id say he has atleast to the age of 35 or more in china so could a 1.5k be on the cards?

Possibly mate, i will see how the next few seasons go and see whether there is a decline at all. I would hope that even at the age of 35 he would still be effective in such a weak league.

Season 9

I really wanted to rattle another season out quickly to get over the 1k before the Vibe PL started. I will carry on this career but updates might be a bit slower. The real highlight this season was the performance of Chen with the Chinese national team.

This is the part i am looking forward to. We managed to get to the quarter finals of the World Cup and were only narrowly beaten in ET by Uruguay. A fantastic achievement. Also on top of that some some stunning victories, notably against Colombia and Japan. Needless to say Chen was right in the goals. I still can't work out how i only managed to beat the mighty Maldives 2-1 looking at the other results!!

Chen Shilong

A slight dip in his goal ratio, partly because after that extra time defeat in the World Cup his condition was poor and he was straight back into league action about 3 days later so i had to use him sparingly for a few games. Still a great return and add in his international goals that is 147 for the season. If you like scoring goals get yourself to China.

Nothing much to report here just qualifiers. I have got China to 20th in the world rankings. It would be nice to try and get top 15.

Chen started the season on 188 INT goals and added 15 goals this year to take him up to 203 in total. As you can see some stats are now declining.

Chen Shilong

A few games missed due to a few injuries but still an excellent scoring record, add on his 15 international goals and that is 112 for the season. He still has another 4 years left so should hit the 1.5k comfortably i would hope. His 64 goals in 26 league games was the highlight, an average of 2.46 goals per league game.
