Although the A Team lost in September I think we can all say that this has started better than any of us had expected or at least if you did think it would start this well you have more faith in me than I deserve.

Team B vs Atletico Away

This looks like a tough game for the B Boys but in the end they may feel they should have got the 3 points.

We took a quick lead with @DutchTony Koulibaly getting another goal but despite plenty of shots on goal our low shooting came back to haunt us as we struggled to get shots on target and then Atletico got the equaliser. Towards the end both sides could have won it but I’m happy to take away a point from what should be our trickiest game in the group.

Some fine performances from most of the team although it was a tough day for @Damilare Luiz. 

 

Team A vs Genoa Home

The A Team got back in action against Genoa. What is pleasing me so far is that we seem to be creating plenty of shots on goal with this tactic and although as can be expected we aren’t getting as many on target as we should we are getting goals which was always going to be a the worry in this save. We dominated this game but had to wait till 1st injury time to take the lead as @Titjes Kehrer got himself another goal from RWB! @Rob Upamecano seemed to have made the game save after 65 minutes but we had a nervy end when Genoa scored with 2 minutes left.

@1759 Ramos managed to get MotM without scoring but I was disappointed to see @Nucleus Van Dijk with a 6 considering he had 5/5 tackles and 11 interceptions.

 

Team B vs Chievo Away

You might want to look away now B Boys because you blew this game big time 😕

We had them on the ropes at 3-1 following a brace from the prolific @DutchTony Koulibaly and @smoggy90 Marquinhos but Chievo came roaring back into the game with 2 goals in 4 minutes and then a winner 10 minutes later. We thought we had salvaged a point in injury time but @sharaziuk Manolas goal was rightly ruled out for offside.

Some truly terrible performances in this game from the defence except for @CamelXCVII Lemos who comes out with some credit and a 7.

 

Team A vs PSV Away

That means both teams have lost now although Team A could take advantage of Team B’s lose and draw this month to take a points lead with a win in Eindhoven.

Or not! This is 2 loses in a row now so are the wheels coming off of this save?!?

All the goals came in the first half and despite having more shots we just couldn’t find an equaliser. @1759 Ramos had got us back in the game but we were let down by 2 mistakes at the back giving Lozano the chance to score 2 penalties.

This was clearly a decent performance from the boys despite losing as the ratings look good but it’s the result that counts. 

 

Team B vs Roma Home

This month has been all over the shop results wise but we have 2 league games left to give it a positive end.

Roma seems a tough team to play on the back of 2 defeats but this team seem to like playing the bigger teams, perhaps because they attack more so we get more chances to attack them. I think it is safe to say this month has belonged to @DutchTony Koulibaly who is now top scorer with 7 goals and got the winner here.

Lots of 8’s this game! I want to mention @URz Maguire as although he got a 6 he is not a natural LWB and is arguably the worst player in the team yet he has performed pretty well so far in this save. It was also a very fine performance from @Ashez Ginter and we have seen some good ratings from both DLP so far in this save.

 

Team A vs Fiorentina Home

A win here would have seen one team take a clear points lead over the other at the end of the month albeit with Team B having a game in hand over Team A.

As it was we had our first league draw and our first 0-0 to boot.

Not much to say the game was dull although we saw some good ratings. @Woody Skriniar seems to be getting 8’s nearly every game and it was a good performance from @Ran7777 de Ligt as well.

This leaves us sitting nicely in 2nd place in the league and with a nice cushion over 4th. Whether we will be able to mount a challenge at the title remains to be seen and we will probably need better months than this one if that is to happen.

Team B are still in front by virtue of goal difference and with a game in hand. In the best player categories we don’t see much change except @smoggy90Marquinhos replaces @Damilare Luiz who had a tough month as best midfielder in Team B.

Next month Team B will play there game in hand as they have 3 games compared to Team A’s 2 and they all look winneable so this could be a crucial month both as a club as a whole but also both Teams.

I am trying to mention as many people as I can in these updates and hopefully I will mention everyone over the all the updates I do.

Team B have a chance to open up a points gap today as they play there game in hand over Team A.

Team B vs Frosinone Home

So far Team B have been the big scorers especially as Koulibaly is proving to be a goal machine. They continued the goal scoring in a straight forward win over minnows Frosinone in a dominant performance. The main man didn’t get on the score sheet today as @sharaziuk Manolas was the hero with a brace. He was also ably back up by his inside forwards as @smoggy90 Marquinhos and @Damilare Luiz scored as well.

 

The front 5 all did well and I expect the lack of much to do contributed to lower ratings for the back 5. We did see an 8 from @Lapalapalup Lindelof though as he won all 7 of his tackles made.

 

Team A vs PSV Home

This was a revenge mission for Team A as they looked to avenge there loss in Eindhoven. Except they didn’t and without heroics from Cillessen with 2 penalty saves it could have been worse.

It seems that Team A don’t like playing PSV as it was another average performance against them. Team A are proving to be a tough nut to crack at the back though thanks to @Woody Skriniar and @Mr Tree Mepham forming a good partnership.

 

Team B vs Torino Away

Team B could really take advantage of those dropped points with a win in Turin.

They started brightly with @DutchTony Koulibaly cracking one in but then Simone “Comedy Run Up” Zaza equalised. The game turned on a red card early in the 2nd half though as @Sonneratia Dier received his marching orders for a foul on the edge of the box and to add insult to injury Falqué scored the resulting free kick. I went for broke to try and get an equaliser but Zaza got a 2nd in injury time to seal the Torino win.

A very average day at the office for Team B with only Koulibaly coming out with an 8.

 

Team A vs Empoi Away 

This is the final game of the month for Team A and they need to win if they want to try and keep pace with the B Boys.

Empoli aren’t the best team around but the A Team made hard work of this even after @1759 Ramos gave them an early lead. They aren’t the most prolific scorers in Team A but they are certainly resilient though and they dug in and got the job done for a crucial 3 points.

I said the OP that I hoped we would defend from the front and @Rob Upamecano and @Ran7777 de Ligt did just that with 4 interceptions each.

 

Team B vs Spartak Home

So far we have only beat Spartak in the Champions league and we would need to again if we want to get out the group.

This was an emphatic win by Team B that gives them a points advantage over Team A now as well as a goal difference advantage. We saw braces from @DutchTony Koulibaly, @Damilare Luiz and @sharaziuk Manolas as they racked up 6 goals between them.

An absolute stellar performance from the B boys and especially Koulibaly as he was involved with 4 of the goals. Special mention for @URz Maguire as well who had his best game in a Inter CentreBack shirt so far.

This leaves the group looking like this with one game to play against Atletico. It is in our hands as we have a good GD but Team A need to do the job in that game to make sure we progress in some style and perhaps win the group.

In the league we are still 2nd but Juve have opened a 4 point gap at the top now.

Talking of gaps at the top.

Team B now have a 2 point lead and a 7 goal advantage over Team A. It is interesting to see the contrast in the two teams though as clearly Team B are hung ho with Koulibaly banging them in and backed up well by Luiz, Manolas and Marquinhos whilst Team A are much more solid at the back but they struggle to put the ball in the net which is costing them at the moment.

In the player competition we still see Koulibaly out in front. Luiz replaces Marquinhos as the best Team B midfielder and Lemos takes over from Dier as best defender for Team B.

We have 7 games in December and Team A will play one extra over Team B again so they really need to make that game count. This is going to be a big month as the Champions League group stage concludes and we have 6 league games to see if we can claw back Juve a little bit.
