The wait is over and it’s time to reveal who will be playing where in Team B.

CentreBacks

@Sonneratia Dier: As a natural midfielder I was disappointed that Dier got drawn as a CB because he would have been a nice pick as the AP or one of the WB roles. I’m sure he will do a great job in one of his natural positions though.

He will play alongside

@CamelXCVII Lemos: I think Lemos will do very nicely as a CB and I think this is a good draw for the Mackem Camel as Lemos doesn’t look like he has the ability to play in any other roles.

Right Wing Back

@Lapalapalup Lindelof: This is quite a good draw as Lindelof has some knowledge  at RWB and some decent attributes like pace and positioning as well but he is lacking in crossing and dribbling but that’s hardly a shock in this save.

Deep Lying Playmaker

@Ashez Ginter: This guy looks awful and I have no idea how Ashez thinks he will beat my lads AvR 😛 In fairness he looks a good prospect as a DLP and should train in the DM role quite quickly.

Spoiler

Left Wing Back

@URz Maguire: This was a ballsy pick and I was hoping he would’ve the DB but he was and here he is lining up at LWB. I won’t say he looks good to play the role but at least he is actually left footed so that is a stroke of luck.

Right Inside Forward

@smoggy90 Marquinhos: We all know that Marquinhos is a real good player but is he an IF? Well we are going to find out. He lacks movement and shooting but his passing, creativity and pace are good so he has half a chance....maybe.

Spoiler

Advanced Playmaker

@Gideon_J Stones: If any player in Team B was going to get this role the best option had to be Stones with his passing, creativity and movement. I can see this being a real bonus to Team B this draw as Stones looks one of the best fits for a role outside of CB so far.

Left Inside Forward

@Damilare Luiz: Luiz isn’t a player that is famed for his concentration at CB so an attacking role might be good for him and although he lacks pace and movement he can shoot well compared to others in the squad so he may get a few goals.

Spoiler

Target Man

@sharaziuk Manolas: A little like Lemos Manolas is one of the “out and out” CB’s in the squad who doesn’t look like he can do much more than defend bloody well. He has pace though, is great in the air and with 18 tackling he will certainly be defending from the front.

Advanced Forward

@DutchTony Koulibaly: The man mountain Koulibaly completes the team as he takes the AF role and he will certainly be a presence up front but time tell if he can be effective. He has average shooting, movement and he is quick so he could cause problem and like Manolas he will defend from the front.

So what do you make of that Team B are you happy with the draw? Let’s also get some predictions on where you think we will finish the season.

Perfect team that boys, even if I placed them by hand I'd have picked similar. Not like we needed luck of the draw though as we're clearly the better team!

Stones threading the balls through and Luiz pinging them in from distance 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I'm banking alot on Luiz being an immense ISF tbf, while Marq used to play WB so he might be a decent wide player. I think our attack wins this, delighted both defences ended up kinda meh.

If Ginter and Dier could swap I'd be happier. I've played Dier in DMC and MC and he does a good job. That being said, we've got half a chance so BRING IT ON!!! 👏

You could play anyone at DMC on this game 😂

Team B has a better striking pair, those thinking that Team A is better are just looking at the names... except O'Shea maybe.

You might have a pair of wood at the back, but we have a stone in attack

I can see some high scoring matches coming but not in a good way!

I believe the match against Parma will finish 4-3 to team A with Ajer bagging a brace. Wishful thinking!

Team A to lose. Team B to win. That being said - possibly Ramos will get Team A out of jail though.

The first update will be out tonight and although it’s only 2 games the results are 🤔

Interesting.

Team A take on Parma, Team B play SPAL and score predictions are very welcome.

Who do you have on penalty, free-kick and corner duties?

I can't remember names of the top of my head but I will let you know in tonight's update but..

Penalties and free kicks are the 2 players with the highest shooting in both teams.

Corners are taken by the DLP in both teams.

Team A to win 3-1 with O’Shea getting a brace and a goal from Ramos.

Team B win 2-0, not sure who will score but it’ll prove to be a false dawn anyway as they’ll struggle away from home as the season progresses.

Ramos for Team A and Luiz for Team B.

Should have been randomised or just given to JOS.

I did but it just so happened that they randomly came out with the best suited players to do the jobs😉 and JoS won't need penalties and freekicks to be top scorer as he has ability on his side.

You’ve seen the squad and where everyone will be playing so I guess we need to get this save going. I will be playing a month at a time and then posting the update for that month so that I am as much in the dark as how this will go as you guys. I hope that I can update at least every other day or even better everyday.

August

We only had two games this month but it was a couple of decent games to ease the team in as we play potential mid table Parma and relegation battlers SPAL. On the plus side they could be winnable games but if we get gubbed then it could be a loooong season.

Team A vs Parma Away

This was the perfect start to the season and it didn’t take us long to get going as @Rob Upamecano opened the scoring after 7 minutes and the 10 minutes later @samhardy O’Shea made it 2-0. Things did get tricky in the 2nd half as @Titjes Kehrer hacked down a Parma player and got a straight red. When Dezi made it 2-1 I was starting to worry but we shut up shop before Upamecano hit them on the break with a sucker punch 3rd just before full time. It was an even game but we created more CCC and it felt like a deserved win.

Some really good performances from most of the team but it is Upamecano who stole the show with his 2 goal haul.

Team B vs SPAL at Home

The big question was would the Parma game be a false dawn or could we back it up with another good performance against a team that will likely be fighting relegation.

We again took the lead after 7 minutes with @DutchTony Koulibaly getting his first goal of the season. This set us up for a dominant performance even if we saw very little of the ball.  A @Damilare Luiz penalty made it 2-0 and then @sharaziuk Manolas completed the scoring 9 minutes from the end. We may not have seen much of the ball but we created plenty of shots although only the penalty as a CCC.

A good performance from Team B and it will be enough for them to have a better record than Team A by virtue of goal difference although the overall ratings of the team itself were lower.

This means that we sit 2nd in the early Série A table.

Summary

Team B make the slightly better start due to the clean sheet but it was a close and impressive start by both teams. With only 1 game played the AvR are very close but it is @Rob Upamecano who is in the lead of the overall best player competition so far.

In other news SamHardy O’Shea’s goal against Parma was enough to earn him a recall to the Irish national team despite retireing in June 2018.

A very good start then but we have a long way to go yet and September has some tough games with both Juventus and Napoli to face as well as the start of the Champions League.

So are you pleased with how your player started the season and do you think this form can continue?
