Season 4 Update - Kylieboi

Going to do this differently on this update as I have finished the season before @Aaron55 Im also doing it first as it could put the heeeby jeebies up him 😂🤘

Transfers In & Outs

I sold Delaney and wanted a new box to box midfielder. I have wantes to use Brozovic this year but hadnt until this save. Glad i did as he proved to be solid throughout the season. 

Arthur turned out to be a solid signing too as he, Brozovic and Zaniolo formed a promising midfield three.

Romero I signed as a backup to Lunin (in on loan) and Svlar as I let Burki leave after his contract ran down.

Lukaku was just a test to see if Utd would sell, was even more shocked when they agreed on a loan deal - to perm for £80m. I had no intention of buying him as he was only there to add depth to my forwards.

Joao Felix I signed again to add some competition for places, I used him rarely during season 4.

Philipp I sold as he wasnt playing and wouldnt stop moaning. I installed a buy back clause just to be safe.

Delaney and Diallo I let leave as they wasnt in my plans and the money was a decent return.

The rest are youth team players who didnt make the grade.

Cups Overview

We went into season 4 knowing full well we needed to win every competition possible as @Aaron55 could score more points as he was in more cups.

We won the Supercup beating Hoffenheim 3-1 in a challenging match that saw us come from a goal behind.

Below are pictures of our european champions cup run, which we went on to win after last years disappointment.

 

Napoli gave an amazing show of themselves for leg 2 and I have to admit I was worried they would get the goals they needed. I was lucky to finish 8-4 on agg.

Our group stage proved to be easier than I expected as we trumped each side we faced. We only drew one game against Monaco 1-1.

We beat Arsenal in the final 2-0 to regain the Cup we should of won last year.

Season Overview

We won the league again however I dropped points with additional draws and a loss to Bayern which I still cant understand how I lost (screenshot below) - opinions please lol.

Some of my favourite wins from season 4. Goals goals goals!

Our team did well to get into the 'Players Team of the Year', all the midfield is just pure dirty 😎

One league loss to Bayern stopped it being an unbeaten season, however 3 draws isnt all bad. Goals scored 114 proved we was deadly in a number of positions, injuries to my back four throughout the season caused a +3 increase to goals against.

Leon Bailey - 46 Goals 🔥

Deadly Bailey! 

Closely followed by Belotti on 45 goals. If he wasnt injured for 2 months he may of smashed last years tally!

Top Assist Maker

Bailey - 22 Assists

(Closely followed by Sancho on 21 Assists)

Bailey had an absolute belter of a season. Lethal infront of goals and terrific with his assists. Well played Sir!

3 cups won out of the 3 cups I entered. Potentially dropped points here as @Aaron55 won the Champions Cup last year so would have additional cups to play in. 

Winning everything I possibly could will only aid my total points score.

Season 4 Update - Aaron55

Transfers

There was a lot of changes to the team this season, including Jadon Sancho and Luca Pellegrini leaving in the summer, while Pherai, Martins, De Sciglio and Oxlade-Chamberlain left the club in January. Oxlade-Chamberlain had only signed in the summer as well. We were busy on the incomings in the summer, with new left and right backs signed, along with Martial, Milinkovic-Savic, Gaitan (a new back up keeper from PSG), Belotti on a bosman, plus free agent Cristiano Ronaldo, who I couldn't resist signing! He did leave in January though, as Gagliardini, Woodburn and Pereira joined the club. A couple of loan players also joined in the summer to add depth. 

Super Cup 

A comfortable victory to get us off to a winning start! 

European Super Cup

Another 3-0 Super Cup win, but this time we had to wait until the final 10 minutes to wrap it up. 

Club World Cup

LA Galaxy were easily defeated to set up a final against Racing Club, which we won comfortably for our third trophy! 

 

German Cup

Fourth time lucky maybe? We kicked off our assault on the German Cup with a 6-1 away victory, before seeing off Eintracht Frankfurt, SV Sandhausen, Borussia Monchengladbach and Werder Bremen as we reached the final! 

Stuttgart were who we'd have to beat to claim the trophy for the first time. Could we do it?

Three goals in the opening half an hour give us the win! Finally! 

Champions League

Another easily navigated Group Stage

This set us up for a run to the final which included a couple of big wins! 

What a win! We would now be up against Lazio in the final. After 90+4 minutes the score was 1-0 in Lazio's favour. Time for someone to make themselves a hero?

Wow!!! Woodburn!!! £40m transfer fee worth it for that goal alone! Extra time came and went without any further scoring and so the game was settled from the penalty spot and thankfully we came out on top! Five Cups won out of five! 

Bundesliga

We had a 100% win record in the league up until April, but late goals in each half preserved our unbeaten record at least. 

But then we lost to Stuttgart anyway. 

A further draw followed in a game where our entire first XI was rested for the cup finals. This left the league table looking like this, as we completed a clean sweep of all the trophies available to us this season! 

Our goal difference of +76 was our best yet, but not good enough to get the points this time.

Not bad for a free signing as he topped our goalscoring charts.

Another brilliant season for Under, despite missing a month through injury. 

 

Both updates in, so time for the points! Before this season, @kylieboi88 had a 155-105 lead, so let's see how this season has changed things. 

EDIT 1: @kylieboi88 won the German Super Cup as well. Didn't update the table properly from last season before adding up the points. Score below updated accordingly. 

EDIT 2: I gave him 5 points for Top Goalscorer because I left a tick there by mistake, so the score was right anyway! Changed back 😂

Going into Season 5, that leaves the score as KYLE 205-170 AARON.

Season 5 - The Final Update

So, we've finally reached the last season of this H2H challenge. @kylieboi88 holds a 35 point lead and looks clear favourite to win. But it's time to see what I could do in the final season to try to close the gap... 

Transfers

I was happy with my squad, so there were less changes to the squad this year compared to previous seasons.

After Davie Selke left, a new 3rd choice striker was required and so Augustin was brought in. Robin Koch joined on loan for a second time, to replace Zagadou after a £52m bid was accepted for our back up CB. Further loan deals from Real Madrid and PSG added some depth. 

German Super Cup

A seven goal thriller was edged by us to give us the win! 

European Super Cup 

An easy win! 

German Cup

A couple of nervy games, but we managed to reach another German Cup Final, where we faced Bayern Munich. A late Fekir goal was only a slight consolation for the Bavarian side as we lifted another trophy! 

Club World Cup

This competition didn't seem to make an appearance this season. Potentially due to the winter World Cup? 

Champions League

We faced no problems in the group stage, before having to navigate our way past AC Milan, Sevilla and Lazio to reach the final. 

Juventus would be our opponents at Old Trafford as we aimed to pick up another Champions League trophy. An early red card after already being two goals down left the Italians with too much to do, and we run out easy winners!

Bundesliga

Annoying we couldn't get 34 wins, but we still absolutely dominated the league, scoring an average of over 3 goals a game while conceding only around 0.4 goals per game, leaving us with a goal difference of +93. Hopefully enough to take the points! 

Our domination of the League was recognised by the players of other teams as 7 of places in their Team of the Year were from our team. 

Top Goalscorer

Despite missing two months of the season through injury, he was far and away our top scorer for the second season in a row. 

Top Assist Maker

Another world class season from our main man. £54m turned out to be a bargain! Like Belotti with the goals, nobody came close to matching Under for assists. 

Career Summary

Four league titles and 13 Cup wins including four Champions League wins in a row in five seasons is not bad! Especially when you remember our trophyless first season in charge. 

I really enjoyed this career! @kylieboi88will be up next to update when he can, and then I'll work out the final scores. Hopefully I've done enough to make it close!

Season 5 Final Update - Kylieboi

I decided to throw caution to the wind for season 5 and spend some mooooooooney!!!

Caldara came in to pair up with Skriniar, which proved to be a solid pairing. My own Ferdinand/Vidic 👌.

Havertz come in to boost our midfield as did long time target Rabiot. 

Paul Lopez came in as our Number 2 keeper, with our final signing Pellegri joining our ranks of talented forwards.

Minimal out goings except one who I part ex for Rabiot. The rest were contracts being run down.

Cup Run

Fairly tight game resulted in us winning the Super Cup. Belotti gaining an injury which was quite often this season. One cup in the bag 👍

We smashed Dresden 5-0 easily claiming the German Cup. Cup number 2 👍

I had the toughest route to the final in this seasons champions cup. I had both PSG and Real Madrid to beat before facing City in the Final. Squeeky bum time after they scored first but we improved massively second half. Cup number 3 👍

We beat Chelsea in the Euro Super Cup to gain cup number 4 👍

League Performance

We won the league for the 5th Season running and did not lose a game. Slightly dissappointed as I scores less than I wanted but my keepers proved solid between the sticks.

Top Goal Scorer - Belotti 54 Goals

Belotti proved deadly even with a high number of injuries scoring 54 goals for the season.

Top Assist Maker - Bailey 28 Assists

@Aaron55 smashed me out the ball park with Under hitting the dizzy heights of 51 assists. Well played Sir.
