Shaaban Idd Chilunda, what a name!

Apologies for not following this through Foxy, I’ll give it a read through when time permits :)

-1....Absolutely diabolical update. How dare you pick Kenya and not use Victor Wanyama!

Who’s Vito Vanarama?

A nice bit of squad rebuilding but it looks as though Liverpool have had a shocking transfer window.☹️

I’ve used a few of your squad players before but I actually really like Fullkrug who I had in my first save on this years game. I got him earlier than you though and used him as an IF and he became beastly.

A couple of good picks there and they produced quickly for you.😀

Certainly a mouth full so I just called him Shaba.

Your next pick needs to be from Cirencester.

Laurence Llewelyn Bowen it is then!

Fullkrug is a great player imo, he is my back up striker to Mitro and tbh he could easily have been my 1kc player choice in that save as if he plays he scores.

It’s been a few days since the last update so sorry for that but with the VPL and I have also concentrated a bit more on Mitro over the last week as well.

In the last update we had just visted Tanzania and the next destination for us was..

Zambia 🇿🇲

I found a real gem in Zambia as our guide.

FDEF3E9D-CF48-439C-A216-DC78BF9DFAEF.thumb.png.45874848d9093d0f35e185df63f7ab29.png

Ok a gem might be a bit strong but he is quick and ummm that’s about it 😂 I thought he might be a regen and I was going to avoid him as I want to use real players but he isn’t and in real life plays for Shrewsbury. He cost £1.4m from Almeria.

He might not be great looking but he didn’t hang around. He didn’t score against Palace but the next league game was against Man City.

He got his goal and both Davis and Aouar got assists so job done.

DF1977A1-1056-4BDD-9A2F-281E520FEB06.thumb.png.08405845f18290241e6b1ddeab9bf1b6.png

This challenge is so random! Sometimes it takes match after match with a half decent player and then other times a shitter gets the job done in a couple of games and against one of the best teams in the league.

The plan was to keep heading south as I wanted to get to South Africa. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any players for either Botswana or Namibia so even though I could have gone through Mozambique I wouldn’t have been able to start heading north 🙁

With that in mind we went west.

Angola 🇦🇴

I spent £3.5m to bring this guy in a team in Mexico and I think despite the lack of green attributes he isn’t the worst guy we have seen so far and he’s a bit of an all rounder. If the last guy could get the job done in 2 matches surely this guy can do just as well.

Despite good wins against Newcastle, Brighton and Villa we still were in Angola and this despite Igor scoring in the Villa game.

His fourth match was against Everton at the Emirates.

He tucked home a pen for his 2nd goal for us.

Davis was good enough to get an assist and we were done in Angola.

A nice update as we complete 2 countries in 6 games and the new look squad seem to be bedding in well. We sit 2nd but we have a game in hand over Man City and we have yet to taste defeat in the league.

We continue our journey across Africa and we are heading north to an attempt to get back into Europe.

Our next destination had to be DR Congo as that was the only option for Angola.

DR Congo 🇨🇩

The good Dr isn’t short of some decent strikers and this was the guy I went with. He started his career with Everton but I got him from a Spanish team called Union and he cost £1.5m

93D6FEFB-BD39-43EF-BFD6-46E2DF29B5E4.thumb.png.97d54e526295eab49be84e7b92cfe8c6.png

Looks a talent to me so high hopes here.

He didn’t score against Leicester in a disappointing draw.

The next game was against London rivals Chelsea and he got on the scoresheet in a dominant win.

BC933367-DA82-4AB5-B17B-734C58EEFB40.thumb.png.ffbbc80f7e40edfbe85e52df836ade72.png

A Davis assist and we move on.

After DR Congo the only way to go was his less medical neighbour.

Congo 🇨🇬

Another Congo and another banger of a striker!

This legend cost me just £800k from Getafe.

He wasn’t messing about either as we played Man Utd in the next game after Chelsea.

An Aaour assist as well meant we move straight on.

Our journey up the west side of Africa continues.

Cameroon 🇨🇲

I was a bit gutted that Roger Milla isn’t still playing but again west Africa proved rich pickings as this guy joined for £1.6m from China.

Not quite as good as the last 2 but still not to shabby for just over a mil and a half.

25B5FE02-07CC-4B56-8129-CBF849C70DFD.thumb.png.56e7c861a3f97313ab1ac49cf7779da8.png

He didn’t hit the ground running like the last 2 lads and after 4 matches including a lose to West Ham we were still in Cameroon.

The next game was against Bristol City who have helped us before.

Despite missing a penalty he made up for it by tucking home the rebound.

Davis and Aouar both got assists.

Another great update with three nice players doing the business.

Thank you for the mention of Roger Milla too which brings back nice memories of my younger school days where we’d all do his celebration after scoring in the playground.😃

I’m thinking Nigeria next?

Mampala looks a find sir, well done on scratching 3 off the list.

Nigeria is defo the obvious choice but this is Foxy after all, so i'm gonna go with ...Chad?

You and me both mate.

Some cracking hidden gems their mate, I cringe at some of those percentages though 😂

Nice thing about this challenge is I can rest important players like Davis and Aouar in the cup matches so condition hasn’t been bad for them.

He looks ok but I don’t like his low teamwork.

You and @1759 are right it is Nigeria next but after that I have a very random player pick.

It was time to start heading north into the Sahara but before that we needed to get through.

Nigeria 🇳🇬

Another nation with a good history of producing some good strikers over the years and I again had some good picks.

I’m a sucker for a good name though so how could I turn down the chance to sign a Larry. He cost £6.75m from Heusca in Spain.

24893419-B871-4395-A2F4-A955771BD804.thumb.png.9ee3f9cb388fade7b4c04554e849f15f.png

He is lacking in technical ability but good movement and pace makes me positive of his chances.

Before he had a chance to feature we had two important cup games against south coast opponents who both rolled over and let us tickle there bellies.

8C98A0F4-6668-4B57-BA16-B23A1B9137BA.thumb.jpeg.b0a5f58ddc0a69d3971327c99f21c7fc.jpeg

Our first league game was against Huddersfield and “Leisure Suit” Larry got the goal we need.

177BF275-3DA1-41F5-BB37-C4CB27B0AEBF.thumb.png.76b0c5d18eaab2dfca509457ef6cb702.png

Davis with an assist as well 😁

0ABB5240-1376-43D2-AAC2-E4DE878DE75C.thumb.png.9d21ef0fdfce7f614be6b693046ff7d0.png

After Nigeria we had two options.

  1. Keep following the west African coast.
  2. Head north towards the Sahara.

The coastal route was tempting but there is a lot of nations to tick off that way so I decided to go north but that had its own complications.

Niger 🇳🇪

The complication here was a distinct lack of players and no strikers at all.

In the end I decided to put the Yac in attack!

FD5A183B-5147-4EA8-8BCB-A4685ABBEFE2.thumb.png.8250f30e0ab23c92525691f1927ea416.png

Well he has some pace and he is ok in the air I guess but this could be tricky. He cost a whooping £1.8m for Cadiz in Spain.

We got the job done in the Carabao semi so we have a final to look forward to and we are into the FA cup 5th round as well. The Yac was blunt in attack so far though with no goals in the first 4 league games of his stint.

A8E487CB-D0DC-4CBC-B72A-1BAD023DA468.thumb.jpeg.a615d4475f301476667a4090188c5cd8.jpeg

That changed as we took on the Stripy Nigel’s.

7EF97988-91A4-4364-86D2-F0305B13A0C4.thumb.png.d787a122445e8d05f547b194660550a5.png

Lets face it his best source of a goal was always going to be from a corner with Aouar taking it but that actually didn’t happen and it was Davis who played a nice ball into the box and Yac tucked it home.

9475D91F-A0E8-4E02-8117-7AFC74FE2334.thumb.png.8fa921fd6da03a28607921e1a6627b15.png

Our little short cut continues as we head west again into another nation that can produce good players.

Mali 🇲🇱

I didn’t go for Sane though and instead went after this fella from Herenveen and cost £10.5m.

I went for a bit of an FMM legend this time.

EB8114CC-75B8-471F-BA06-1DED384CCF86.thumb.png.4fe5f96095031302e5fbd85e5352234e.png

He is 30 now but what a player and this surely won’t take long.

In fact he scored on debut against Man City in a top of the table clash.

4FA3A38F-D6D3-4B71-AC42-502A185B1842.thumb.png.46fa87c264a5b4bf32d80c7b5e471644.png

Except Davis or Aouar didn’t get an assist so we had to carry on.

Straight after that we had another cup double header with first a shitty draw in the first leg of our CL 1st KO round with Standard and then we made @Ashez and @1759 cry into there beers again as we won the League Cup.

4606263D-E531-46CF-BA7A-096669EF0CD8.thumb.jpeg.b530a27349f87f1c21a52895010e5f72.jpeg

Next up came Newcastle and again Marega got himself a goal, 2 in fact.

6B572405-95EC-49D8-B7DB-74889F9BC0BA.thumb.png.b63f0757e7ccd9353972fac187ebb8a6.png

A couple of assists and the job is done.

E255A806-B839-4836-BCF7-19171ADE7786.thumb.png.fba7ebf9dc93a1f500ea83d2bc7ffcd6.png

Pan injury to Davis was a worry but it is only for 10 days so it could have been much worse.

6C090743-7F29-4B52-8883-2687CAFC7733.thumb.jpeg.96e8b14520beda5858f0717534a12d34.jpeg

It’s tight at the top as Man City are having a good season and with 7 games to go we need to keep winning.

0C63004B-1967-4046-B9F8-FC895ACADED0.thumb.jpeg.c46423fdc52877d1012ffe435fc7d507.jpeg

You must have a good team to beat the mighty reds.

Larry looks decent with that pace. Can’t get away with Yac though as I can’t have just 1 for leadership and Marega looks like he’ll be a right handful.

Great journey this and still got Europe to go.

That would be good or maybe give them all the game and make them do the challenge. I love geography so this has been right up my street tbh.

Do you know what I hadn’t even noticed his 1 leadership until you mentioned it 😮 not something I worry to much about in strikers but then again he isn’t a striker...

Nope not Burkina Faso and we are in fact only 2 nations away from “Europe” with the route I have planned.
