Another great season there.

I've never heard of Meza, where did you sign him from?

Thanks buddy. Meza is from Independiente. A whopping £3.7m.

Fabled Number Ten - Season Five Results

My target for this season was to get the usual 60-70 points and to try and get near to Ntcham’s total.

Pogba and Savic were my two big signings, using up a tonne of my savings but making my midfield awesome.

Meza cost me £3.7m. Konate is replacing McKenna as a backup as the latter won’t sign a new contract.

14269206-C79C-4E03-B750-C16B069EF128.thumb.jpeg.c29d6a3e365c430c1cf26cf16c7b38fb.jpegFA65F967-9418-4AD5-97BB-5C68801C0787.thumb.jpeg.c81d558361bf851e7098a2694a8a49c8.jpeg

Bisoli left for £23m, earning us a nice profit. Pjanic was 32 and ever decreasing in attributes.

All my players have contracts that expire after this challenge finishes in a few seasons so any future transfers will just be players I definitely know will improve us or be suitable squad backups.

We won the Euro Super Cup, battering Barcelona (including a Meza goal on his debut) but having to rely on penalties. Still, it was another trophy in the bag. Job done.

It was the Winter World Cup season, which meant our Champion’s Cup victory from last season didn’t earn a Club World Championship place... as it didn’t seem to happen! Bit annoying as that is usually a guaranteed trophy and 3-5 points.

So we had to make do with our usual stuffing of Inter in the Italian Super Cup, with Meza converting a penalty.

A91F027F-A68F-4DCC-A100-7850BE1CB98E.thumb.jpeg.023527a0336a811d66d4e20f8a6bce67.jpeg

Napoli were stuffed in the Italian Cup as we added that one to the cabinet again, with Meza once more bagging a penalty.

I loved this league season. We have dismantled teams left, right, and centre, with 135 goals scored along the way.

And we rounded the season off lovely by beating Manchester City (usually my bogey team with this formation) in the Champions Cup, with Meza joining Dybala in grabbing a brace. That meant a clean sweep of all available trophies.

Meza improved slightly over the season:

F806EAF9-279C-4E9C-BFCF-291BA4070391.thumb.jpeg.f1d66fbf72655af4987117aa0fabe31b.jpeg

He also went up in value, which I was pleased about. That 17 in movement was really helpful too.

26025A7F-A0B5-45B9-A1BA-9DBB6C592A08.thumb.jpeg.067f13c1de5f293d19e13a165e43a34e.jpeg

He had a few niggles through the season, meaning he only played 48. He scored 33 and assisted 36 though, which is aMezaing... yep. That gives him a contribution of 69 and 1.44/g.

Season 1: Irish. Jeff Hendrick. 1.43/g. 53 points

Season 2: French. Olivier Ntcham. 1.56/g. 89 points.

Season 3: Italian. Nicolo Zaniolo. 1.17/g. 62 points.

Season 4: Italian. Dmitri Bisoli. 67. 1.18/g

Season 5: Argentinian. Maximilliano Meza. 1.44/g. 69 points.

340 points total.
(68 pts/plr avg)

Almost as good of a return as Ntcham, but not quite.

Our Fabled Number Ten needs to be the modern day Paul Pogba next.

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Fabled Number Ten - Season Six Player

Our next Fabled Number Ten needs to be the modern day Paul Pogba, which is weird as I already own Paul Pogba. This has left me in a football version of Inception where reality isn’t what I think. I’m confused; I need help. Is anyone actually reading this?

So we need another player to drive us forward. A Frenchman with a bit of va-va-voom to stop this challenge from breaking down. Who better to stop us breaking down and provide va-va-voom  than the AA?

Yep, Amazing Amir Adouyev is our next player! Some sexy stats there. Wooha!

Wish us luck!

Fabled Number Ten - Season Six Results

We are at season six of the seven seasons already and it is now the time of our second Frenchman: Amir Adouyev (AA).

AA joined us for £4.5m, along with some lower value wonderkids that I hoped would improve quickly. If not I will flog in my final season. When I say flog, I meant sell and not whip with rope.

E7B758B5-8EBB-4F21-85E8-9E5B4ED7BFD4.thumb.jpeg.2fb78ec36c8da16139b2f7765e3e22d5.jpeg2D69EEC7-66D9-4640-964D-2D4AB090AE10.thumb.jpeg.2be48cd598ad475d77c7f70df8c232fc.jpeg

Visser and Santos left for massive profits. Meza also left for ten million or so more than he signed.

We won the Euro Super Cup, with AA scoring in a 3-1 win over that horrible Manchester United team.

And then this happened:

AA got injured for a month. Bit annoying, but then this happened:

D861A0FA-6530-49D8-8DC7-D0C1ADC2B5FB.thumb.jpeg.d739c17ca1b1c9fc8332b0057769d95d.jpeg

Our big signing from last year got injured for nine months. At least it wasn’t AA.

But then AA return, played a tiny bit, and then this happened:

Injured again, which meant he missed our 7-1 dismantling of Okayama in the Club World Championship.

He did return in time to score twice against Nappli in the Italian Super Cup as we cruised to victory.

But didn’t score against Lazio when we beat them in the Italian Cup final. An incredibly one sided affair gave us the trophy.

In our best league campaign yet we scored 143 goals and conceded just 26. 107 league points in the bag too. Job done.

Could we make it a second consecutive clean sweep with the Champions Cup?

AA got a late penalty as we thumped Bayern 5-2.

Team-wise it was a great season. But this is about our Fabled Number Ten. This is how he looked at the end of the season:

401C5EBF-A989-4FBF-BD3C-EBBA814B7A67.thumb.jpeg.398857a2ef8d4a1dbc278630931a682f.jpeg

A slight increase in value but that’s about it.

But he did excel with goals and assists, grabbing 37 and 33 respectively in 45 games.

AEEAF660-84BD-48D1-BD49-DF649EFF7208.thumb.jpeg.1bc56d9e555962b77e2994db2110d148.jpeg

This gives him a total of 70 and a contribution of 1.56/g.

Season 1: Irish. Jeff Hendrick. 1.43/g. 53 points

Season 2: French. Olivier Ntcham. 1.56/g. 89 points.

Season 3: Italian. Nicolo Zaniolo. 1.17/g. 62 points.

Season 4: Italian. Dmitri Bisoli. 67. 1.18/g

Season 5: Argentinian. Maximilliano Meza. 1.44/g. 69 points.

Season 6: French. Amir Adouyev. 1.56/g. 70 points.

410 points total.
(68 pts/plr avg)

That puts him equal with Ntcham as my best performer.

Our Fabled Number Ten needs to be the modern day Dybala next. We need 75 points to go top of the leaderboard. This will be a close one!

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Fabled Number Ten - Season Seven Player

Our final season. 75 points needed to go top. Our player needs to be the modern day Dybala.

The temptation to pick the best player available was there, but in keeping with the theme of this career I have opted for someone more unusual.

Daniel Mancini joins us for £7m from Bordeaux. 16 in passing is the standout stats, with 13/14 across a few other spots.

Fabled Number Ten - Final Results

And here it is: our final season. 410 points to date. 75 needed to get top of the leaderboard. Daniel Mancini in the bag as our new Fabled Number Ten.

Firstly, transfers. Mancini joined is for £7m from Bordeaux. Now, I had quite a bit of money in the bank and as it was my last season I decided to spend it all... so I signed Mbappe.

0F2714D4-1431-46B3-83D5-A0EB46EDA7B8.thumb.jpeg.b5ed8107eb9eb914cbcbbfe5d951f96e.jpeg902C3DD9-C446-4077-9383-FD8104273025.thumb.jpeg.e9467695131dcf7cf340a2d86596d7cb.jpeg

Adouyev and pretty much any squad player I no longer wanted left. AA made is a tidy profit too.

The European Super Cup was our first final, which we won by beating Arsenal 3-0. Mancini got a couple of assists.

D1B34888-353D-4E0C-B26D-3A625B3BBC5E.thumb.jpeg.d957fadb44b0506dcb0f8970a37b5406.jpeg

Mancini then got a horrible 3 weeks injury, which I really could have done without. Thankfully ten of those days were during international week.

78144808-D58C-437E-8637-5C0499D917E0.thumb.jpeg.98a216df3fb24c6c476a73b87750bdef.jpeg

In December we had the CWC, where we utterly spanked Okayama 8-2.

91184D30-0C35-4882-A5FF-7A46A338E4B4.thumb.jpeg.17b16743f99e6c478dd4b5f776b4ae6a.jpeg

Mancini scored one and got plenty of assists.

Next up was the Italian Super Cup, besting Lazio 3-0 with a brace from Dybala and a goal from Mancini.

2357C423-22FC-44FF-89F6-BB940DE8C252.thumb.jpeg.f4879cd790a0cc713bfa706d738a3761.jpeg

We absolutely marched through the Champions Cup group and drew Barcelona in the first knockout round. After a naff 3-1 loss in the first leg we were heading for extra time after reversing that score in the second leg...

AFD7E75A-B8CE-4FC1-8576-F7605A3C3F65.thumb.jpeg.e3dc88a8ed74598e60119f64ffbca875.jpeg

...but a late penalty from Guedes knocked us out. The loss of the CWC and Super Cup next season obviously didn’t affect us, but the loss of five potential games in this season certainly wasn’t going to help.

It did, however, pretty much mean we only have one game a week, which meant I could let Mancini play 90 mins each game.

We won the Italian Cup 4-1, registering another final victory over Lazio.

76216923-526B-4F2B-879B-7B181A934D3B.thumb.jpeg.9b233e2a9e85f5515632d1c9ef50ae9b.jpeg

Then this happened three weeks from the end of the season.

43DDFE70-1DAA-4B0D-A2DF-71D4CECC8717.thumb.jpeg.4122195bae044c824dfbb8142010fbb7.jpeg

A month out. It looks terrible, but only really meant three or four games missed.

We did win the league again.

9C51642F-EFCF-4932-9766-6FFEF218B47D.thumb.jpeg.aec0d42040a66085aedc8fd1d1b21220.jpeg

We registered 130 league goals and lost only once, which pleases me. I tend to only really look at the league table at the end of the season and the 100 goal difference pleased an OCD element of my personality.

So, how did Mancini do? Here’s how he looked:

01A9855E-7C61-4261-8B2F-68DC84796F1B.thumb.jpeg.61bab8b960aadf6cd3324664fa0eb11f.jpeg

Now worth £29m but nothing really improved attribute-wise.

As for his stat performance he played 48 games, scoring 37 and assisting a whopping 47. This gives him a score of 84 and a contribution of 1.75.

A04BAEB0-76D7-4492-A5BB-CE52F638B641.thumb.jpeg.99209e5f8166f514d7ae576a0fcb7b66.jpeg

Season 1: Irish. Jeff Hendrick. 1.43/g. 53 points

Season 2: French. Olivier Ntcham. 1.56/g. 89 points.

Season 3: Italian. Nicolo Zaniolo. 1.17/g. 62 points.

Season 4: Italian. Dmitri Bisoli. 67. 1.18/g

Season 5: Argentinian. Maximilliano Meza. 1.44/g. 69 points.

Season 6: French. Amir Adouyev. 1.56/g. 70 points.

Season 7: Argentinian. Daniel Mancini. 1.75/g. 84 points.

494 points total.
(71 pts/plr avg)

Ntcham ended up with the most points, but Mancini was the best performing.

@danovic78 please can you add me to the leaderboard?

Thanks to everyone for their comments and support.
