Hi Vibers,

The story of Sunderland’s demise, has been well documented. There’s even a documentary on Netflix, which has inspired me to start this save.

My aim is to get Sunderland back into the English Premier League. Are you reading this thinking it sounds simple? me too.

From watching the documentary, one of the key points I took from this, was that high profile players on big wages, just weren’t doing the business, on the park.

If Sunderland were to change their approach in the transfer market, and only sign young talent, the off field drama would disappear.

Challenge Rules.

- Only sign players under the age of 24.

- Do not exceed wage limits of 20,000 P/W in League One, 30,000 P/W in the Championship and 50,000 P/W in the Premiership.

- Sell all current players that earn more than the above limits.

Now let’s begin...

This summer we brought in 6 new players, you’ll be glad to know they’re all under the age of 24.

5.5 million profit is great for the club, as we sell on our highest earners.

TACTICAL APPROACH.

I have opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation, as we aim to win League One.

The formation best suits my squad, with all players playing in their favoured position and tactical roles.

I want to bring attacking football back to the fans, they’ve suffered enough and hopefully Shankland can bang in the goals to bring us to glory.

Good idea and good luck!😉

I still haven’t watched that Sunderland documentary; I’ve heard it’s good and it’s on my list of things to watch but haven’t got round to it yet!

JANUARY UPDATE - SEASON ONE.

It’s all going to plan, as we open up a 13 point gap!

100 goals have been scored in our 25 games this season, definitely bringing back the entertainment factor. I’d just like to see less goals conceded.

Shankland playing his part with an impressive 24 goals in 25 league games.

Academy graduate Honeyman is starting to live up to the hype. 13 assists sees him top the leagues assist chart, as things stand.

FAVOURITE RESULT.

Loved this 6-0 victory against Notts Forest. Always nice to beat a side in the league above you, to do it so emphatically even better 😄

Next update will be January’s transfer activity...

Watching it now and very good it is!😀 You’re blitzing the league so far and Shankland looks like he’s going to get some good numbers come end of the season.😀

It is good but I can’t help thinking they missed a trick by not interviewing Sunderland’s number 1 fan.

Really good start @BigAl and an interesting twist on managing a big club in a lower league.
