Career You Can't Win Anything With Kids-Extreme Edition.(SEASON 1)

Alright! Now I've put my Scottish RTG on a short hiatus as it was getting slightly boring. And while I wait until it stops being boring I'm going to start a new career and this is it. 

You guys know the in-game challenge where your senior players all leave and you're left with a team full of kids while being expected to win a piece of silverware? I'll be doing that but turned up to 11

Basically, I'll be setting two basic rules that I will adhere to strictly throughout this career. And they are:

1. I cannot sign any player over the age of 18

2. I must get rid of any player over the age of 20 ASAP once they turn 21.

Of course I might add a few more limitations or additional challenges as I got but these two are the important two. 

But there is a slight problem. While I do feel like this career mode is going to be a cracking one, I just can't decide what team to use! 

So I'll be running a small poll(which I'll be linking below) that has a short list of 7 teams I'm interested in playing as. Now some of these teams were selected based on how strong their youth policies are but not all so there might be one or two teams that don't 'fit' in. 

There's also another small little detail I need some help deciding in...

Alright! 

The polls have closed and we have a winner, 

Looks like I'll be doing this one with the basque boys. 

Fun fact they are nicknamed 'The Lions', which I find to be excellent. 

I'm sure there is a treasure trove of young basque players I can use to dominate this little challenge, right?

SEASON 1.

Alright, just finished off our first ever season in this crazy crazy challenge.(Made doubly insane by playing as Athletic Bilbao!)

But before I go on about how amazing my season was and all that, I want to point out a minor change I made in one of my little rules.

This is to make things a little simpler and easier for me to handle. 

With that being said, here's how the season went!:

I don't know about you guys, but I think that is an amazing first season. 

I'm not joking, when I started this career my team were undoubtedly THE worst team in the entire league. I only managed to win 1 of my first 10 games, the board was extremely close to firing me and my striker only managed 2 goals in 8 games. 

The same striker who went on to win all these awards, 

After scoring an immense 39 goals in only 35 games.(Partly due to the fact I'm creating a new tactic I can use for goal challenges.)

And yet my team pulled through and managed a decent finish on the table. 

Honestly though, I don't have much else to talk about other than the league this season due to getting knocked out of the Copa early on. (lost on away goals) 

But I do have this one exciting match,

Done? Okay let's move on to the team! 

Now normally most people(including me) would post screenshots of their best players or their most promising ones when it comes to discussing their team. But for this particular career, there is a much more important issue to discuss. 

Who is going to leave? 

The whole point of this career is that I am going to achieve great things with players who haven't even had their 21st birthday. But then once they hit 21?

Below, I have listed all the players who are 21 year old at the end of this season/start of next season.

My first choice RB. Served us well, but he is not irreplaceable and I've already found his successor so nothing to worry about. 

 

My first choice LB. Pretty decent fella and did well for us, haven't found a replacement yet but I'm sure I'll find one soon. 

 

My second choice LB. And just like that, I'm out of LBs. This position is gonna be one of my weak links next season for sure. 

 

My first choice AML. Another tough position to replace, but I'm sure I'll think of something. 

 

My first choice AMR. Ouch, one of my better players this season. It will hurt the team's chances next season without him around. 

 

My first choice ST. Oof, this one hurts. Made worst by the fact that there no other decent basque strikers around at all. Next season is going to really suck without my favourite Villa around. 

And those are the lucky few that have escaped the mad world that is my Athletic Bilbao.

Let's all take a moment to wish them luck going forward. 

Well, that about covers this season but before I end this post I want to introduce a little leaderboard for all the players that come and go through my club. 

Currently this leaderboard will track their goals, assists and avg rating while playing under me but if you guys have any other stats you would like to see, feel free to give me your suggestions.

And that's it, that is the end of this season and this post. I must say, I really enjoyed playing through this season and writing this post. 

I can't wait to see what the next season holds in store for me.
