Career Nucleus attempts to sell them Slowly

Recommended Posts

I guess the thing is, with the keeper, he HAS a good one so he is set, so we could jeopardize that... plus we're heading for a January window... But like I say, I don't know the top level well enough - maybe Neuer is aging and due to decline?

Well that was expected 😂, nice going @Nucleus

Hmm, I'm always iffy on going for the keeper as if you can get a good one you're set for years, if you can't we've hindered you for the save. Obviously your defence needs tearing up though. I'm think the keeper next January though, for the love of God don't vote for the keeper in a summer round.

I really don't know where to target, the wing backs are your key as they're equally as impressive on the attack or on the defensive but they're worth a fortune so you'll have decent funds available. Sure trying to replace them for 6-9m won't be easy but signing good wing backs for that price should be possible.

I'll think on it.

Cole Dasilva is more than affordable at that price range and is all greens for me at 2020

Fullkrug is always my go to striker at any level.  An amazing FMM player

This is the first time I’ve used him iirc. Turns out it wasn’t a bad decision!

Just went to cast my first vote of the season and realised there's no point as this one's already over bar the shouting.

Vote count remains at 0.

Still plenty of time to turn it around!

Poll Results

No competition in this weeks voting once again. 57% of you decided that it was time to get rid of David Alaba. Neuer received a few votes this time so im curious to see if that’s the way the next vote will go.

Player Reveal

So Alaba goes off to Real Madrid. His value is high so you’d expect I got some decent buck for him. Truth be told, I didn’t, only £46m in fact. This is the first mess up on my part to be honest, I’d tied him down to a new contract just before the window opened and I hadn’t realised that I’d given him a £400k per week wage. That of course led to nobody wanting to spend his full value on him and I had to drop the offer down to £40m and I wangled £46m in the end from Real after a brief bidding war with PSG.

So I had £4.6m to spend on a new left back who could hopefully fill in Alaba’s massive boots! My search ended in failure as I simply couldn’t find a player myself. As this career is getting the members involved as much as possible I decided to take onboard something a certain member said during this vote. @Gunners Rishi your first contribution to Vibe 😛

Not the best looking player, but certainly not the worst. He cost £2.1m from Brentford, he’s Welsh, I’ve no idea who he is to be honest. Let’s see how this one plays out!

:D c'mon the bees! What a pay-cut for Alaba, how will he afford to feed his family now?!

Here's Cole scoring for our B team against Man City's kids recently:

I got to the voting late and saw the results and it was clear Alaba was going to win so I just went with him.

Still a downgrade so hopefully it’ll derail you slightly.

That’s why I don’t like strawpoll as you can see the results before voting which can influence your decision imo.

He was the best of a bad bunch. The world is seriously lacking in quality left backs actually! Only a handful available :(

Lol - don't think he's actively dissed the bees, yet :D and he just gave us some money!

I do remember that Cole was great for me too in the one Brentford career I tried. Not Bayern Munich great, but decent.

So I'm thinking we keep him with an aging Neuer now right, rather than letting him get a replacement?

Season Two - Part Two

So Alaba has unfortunately departed the club! His replacement Cole Dasilva doesn’t look a patch on him either which does not bode well for the future. We’d assembled a decent lead in the league however so I was hopeful of securing our second league title.

Squad:

League:

Secure it we did, and emphatically too. Only a 29 point gap to second placed Schalke 😆 To me it looks like the teams around us are getting weaker and weaker which is certainly a good sign for the future.

Season History:

Our efforts for a consecutive clean sweep were cut short in the quarter finals of the domestic cup as an Isak hat-trick for Dortmund secured a shock 3-0 win for the black and yellows. We won everything else though, with a 2-0 win against Spurs on the final day securing another Champions League crown.

Manager Profile:

We lost one game throughout the first season, against Liverpool in the group stages of the Champions League. This time around we tripled that as we know stand on 4 defeats for the career. A sign of our rapidly weakening squad?

Squad Appearances:

We’ve had our fair share of injuries this season, Boateng missed out on a huge amount of games due to his recurring injuries whilst numerous other squad members were pushed back a few games too.

Squad Goals:

Füllkrug was on fire in the first half of this season as we noticed in the previous update. He nose dived in the second half though, mustering only 18 goals between January and the end of the season. That Alaba loss must have hit us harder than I originally thought!

Squad Assists:

No surprises that Kimmich tops the Assists chart now that Alaba has gone. Goretzka follows closely behind whilst Lewandowski makes up the top three.
