Help Squad status

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have some questions about squad status, I know that it determines how much game time the player expects but what i want to know is does the squad status determines anything else? I will explain what i mean by listing some questions so you have a clear understanding what i want to know.

1) Does it affect the market value of the player?

2) Does it make the AI team less or more likely to bid on the player or offer less or more transfer money?

3) Does it make the AI team less or more likely to give them game time if the player was loaned out?

The reason I am asking this is that I have most of my players on rotation status because I have mostly young players and I wasn't sure who i should give Key or First team status to.

Kind Regards,

Hieberflab

I always keep them on as low a status as I can. I feel like it probably affects the wage they want, so lower the better for me. And it gives me more flexibility on the game time front: if they are a Hot Prospect and playing regularly, surely they will be happy. If they are a Key Player and I drop them to give someone else a chance, they will probably get grumpy. So if I can keep them as a Hot Prospect I will!

As for whether it affects market value of the player, how likely teams are to bid for them or play them while on loan, I think that is more likely to come from their reputation. It's not visible in the game, but there 3 hidden reputation fields (Domestic, WorldWide and Current). I think those values probably come from their CA/PA (current/potential ability), the league they are in, the club they are with, the form they are in, whether they are capped at ITN level, etc. The current squad status may be part of that calculation, but my guess is it's not the most important factor.

It's all just guess work though, I don't know of any official source on information on this.

Hey, thanks for your reply :). Yeah, I know the player do demand a bit more wages esp. those who were key or first team player and you're downgrading them to rotation or backup, etc.

I'll see if i can find a way to experiment with this, thanks for your help.
