I know and I always have the opposite where when I go for more goals I can’t seem to get the goals to go to the right players.😂

Most of my systems have been very similar from the midfield back with just the odd tweak for the different challenges. I’ll have to go into testing and try a few different things but I’ll probably save that for next years game now.

Season Eighteen

Good Afternoon Vibe,

Our main man Emincan Tekin managed a decent 74 goals last year in his first season as the main focal point. He’s ageing all of the time so I went into this season having little idea of what return he’d get and not knowing when or how quickly his attributes would drop. I’m hopeful of a few more decent seasons so let’s see if he can keep on track this year.

Emincan Tekin

Well Emincan scored 59 goals in 57 games which at first I was disappointed with as my target was 60+ but I suppose we’re only one out and still in with a chance. He’s about to turn 34 and still looks good to me. As mentioned previously I brought in three fitness coaches to hopefully keep his physical attributes up for as long as possible as they can be a real difference maker. At the beginning of the season I maxed his contract out and this time he did indeed announce his retirement which prompted me to ask him to reconsider. He did reconsider as I kind of hoped and expected so he should have another extension in him and I’ll try to make sure I time it right as I’d like to get him to play until he’s 40 if I could and then I’d have no complaints if we couldn’t make the target.

We had a poor season this year as we lost out to Manchester City in both the European Super Cup and Champions League Final. We were a touch unlucky in both games as we dominated them but couldn’t get many of our shots on target and ultimately paid the price. The Champions League game went to penalties too which is never a nice way to lose but we’ve won one or two via shootouts ourselves so got to take the rough with the smooth I guess. None of the other cups posed us any problems and the league was a cakewalk as we only drew one game and amassed a whopping 101 goal difference.

Conclusion

The return is not massive but it’s still more than a goal per game ratio so we take it and move on. I’ve done a few more seasons and I’m keen to get them posted so expect another season or maybe even two tomorrow.

Solid season mate, and it’ll be interesting how the contract transpired. I always find they are happy to extend but only sign that contract right at the end.

Cheers Rob, yeah that could be a stumbling block. I got impatient at the beginning of the season in offering the deal but I can’t help but think that if I could’ve had him tied down for five years now rather than four we’d have a better chance as I can’t see four being enough. Just have to hope he signs again I guess.

Season Nineteen

I might as well let you guys know that I’ve finished this career but you’ll have to wait patiently to find out whether Tekin has reached his target or not.

Last season Tekin hit 59 goals which was acceptable so the target this year was to reach a similar amount to keep us on course.

Emincan Tekin

Emincan manged 58 goals which being only one shy of last years return was pleasing. Rather annoyingly we’ve hit the stage where his early stats are disappearing and I can’t help but think that I should’ve made a nice table to show all of his goals but I’m not going to bother at this stage of the save. You’ll just have to either trust me on his total or read through all of my seasons and add all of his goals up for yourself. His attributes are great for a guy about to turn 35 and I’m particularly loving his physical attributes. I’m confident my decision to bring in three fitness coaches is paying off with those.

We won the league easily but conceded a few more goals than usual as we let in 15! After losing in the final of the Champions League last season we missed out on a few tinpot cup matches which is always a shame as it gives you a good chance to rack up a few goals. We played the other Manchester club in the Champions League final this year and had no trouble as we won 2-0. I’d love to say the rest of the cups were plain sailing but they weren’t as we put on a poor show in the Taça de Portugal in losing to Braga 2-1. They throughly deserved the win but Tekin did score our goal so it wasn’t such a bad day in that regard. Anyway we won all of the other cups in another successful campaign for the team.

I’ve still got a German midfielder in the team but the Gündogan Victory Challenge just seems a million miles away as we weren’t even close this year. Not going to give up yet though.

Conclusion

Another decent season but with only three years left on his contract it looks like we might be a bit short so a lot will depend on whether I can extend his contract or not.

Season Twenty

We need 166 goals with three seasons to go so if we can keep his returns in the mid to late 50’s then we will get it done. Of course you’d think his returns would drop year on year now so it’s essential we get him to sign a new five year deal so that is the target for this season along with a return of over 50.

Emincan Tekin

He had another decent season in netting 57 goals in 57 games so I’m chuffed with that. He signed a new five year deal towards the end of the season also so we can have no excuses if we can’t get the job done now. His attributes are holding up quite well too but could easily rapidly decline so I’m not counting my chickens yet. I’ve put a screenshot showing that his stats from the early seasons have disappeared.

After sufferering a few cup disappointments over recent season we got back to our dominant ways with a clean sweep. We didn’t score quite as many league goals though and although we went unbeaten in the league the eight draws were slightly disappointing. Braga are proving to be a bit of a pain in the arse as they more than matched us in the Supertaça but we found a way to win to get revenge for their cup win over us last season. Barcelona were then pummelled in a 6-0 drubbing in the European Super Cup with Tekin netting a hat tick. They played a bit better than the score line suggested mind but we were much superior. The Club World Championship final against Fuli proved to be as easy as you’d expect as Tekin scored another hat trick in a 4-0 win. We blasted Feirense 6-0 in the League Cup final with one of my back up strikers scoring four of them. No problem this year in the final of the Taça de Portugal as Rio Ave were beaten 3-1 in a confortable game. Tekin’s condition was too low to start but I kept him on the bench and gave him the last 15 minutes and it paid off as he netted an injury time goal. We played Arsenal in the Champions League final and outplayed them but couldn’t convert many of our chances and needed a last minute goal to force extra time. It then went to penalties and we managed to win for a good job as I’d of been furious if we hadn’t based on our domination.

Well he’s signed up for another five years which you’d think should see us over the line but with him being older there’s always the worry that he might mega decline so we can’t celebrate yet. Anyway 109 goals required now so we move onto next season where I hope to get about 40 of them.

Season Twenty-One

We need 109 goals to complete this thing with five seasons to go so should manage it you’d think. I was hoping to hit around 50 goal this season so let’s see if we could manage it.

Emincan Tekin

A fairly frustrating season for Tekin this year as he only hit 42 goals in 60 games. You might be thinking that 42 is a decent return for his age but it was frustrating as he just seemed to miss chance after chance and had two horrible runs without scoring that went on for weeks. I’m not happy with one of my wingers who just hasn’t developed as planned so I will look at that area next season but as I said earlier the chances were there but he just couldn’t score them. His attributes are still good especially his physicals which I feel is a result of having three fitness coaches as a good few of my other squad members are in their mid thirties and are still holding up well with their physicals too.

We had an unbeaten league campaign but with six horrible draws. We lost out to PSG in the Champions League final but can probably consider ourselves a touch unlucky as we had a man sent off and still dominated thereafter but couldn’t get the job done. We had two goals disallowed and they scored with the last kick of the game to win the cup. We won all of the other cup competitions without any real problems but I’d of liked more goals in a few of the finals but can’t be helped.

My Son

My son Calum 1759 came through and looks half decent with good technique aggression and physicals. I can see him developing into a good striker but I just haven’t got enough seasons left to do anything with him so can’t see him playing much if at all in the final few seasons. It’s hard to believe my username was still 1759 when I started this as I thought I had converted to Ian beforehand but obviously not.

Poor season but with four seasons still to go and only 67 goals required we are still on course. I feel we’ve really underachieved this year due to the chances he missed but he is declining all of the time so it might prove to be a good season, time will tell on that I guess.

I hope you are right Foxy. Yes I had the same in my DT career where my son looked good but just no time left to do anything with him. I’ll hopefully get the opportunity to do something with my son on one save at some point.

Id be pleased as pie to have my striker score that well at his age.

This could be close as long as he keeps fit and improves his goals per shot ratio(that should be a proper stat by the way) but im 100% sure he will.

Season Twenty-Two

So here we are with only 67 goals required to see Tekin home and I’d like to get the job done in two seasons so the target for this year was over 40 goals. Let’s see how he did.

Emincan Tekin

After being disappointed with last seasons return Tekin really delivered here in scoring 46 goals in just 52 games which is a vast improvement on last year. As I mentioned last update I wasn’t happy with one of my wingers so he was replaced in the starting line up and I made a slight tweak to my system in ditching the through ball. I don’t know why I didn’t do that earlier once his pace and movement had dropped but maybe it’s better for my system regardless so I’ll need to test that at another time. Anyway this puts us on course to hopefully finish this thing next season as there’s only 21 goals required. 

Team Performances

Just one draw and one defeat in the league so no issues there as usual. Tekin went goal crazy in the Supertaça in scoring six goals against Braga in a 7-0 hiding. As far as first games of the season go then this was right up there. After losing the final of the Champions League last year we missed out on a few tinpot cups so the next final wasn’t until the end of January where we beat Belenenses 2-0 but no goal for the main man which was slightly disappointing. Rio Ave were comfortably beaten 3-0 in the Taça de Portugal final and the Champions League final was plain sailing as Barca couldn’t even muster an attempt at goal.

So with that we only need 21 goals next year to complete this and that’ll be it for this save as there’s nothing more I want to achieve here. I’d love for there to be a bit of drama and when I first began the Tekin 1k needing over 400 goals I genuinely thought it would be touch and go but doesn’t look that way now.

Anyway we aren’t done yet so I can’t get ahead of myself.
