Season 8

Not had as much time to play recently as i would like, but hope to rattle off a few more seasons in quick succession, here is number 8.

Taking advantage of the Bosman market again. Now we are getting into regen territory i will prob stop posting transfers soon.

A clean sweep this season and great to win the CL again and get us a few extra games next season.

 

Argentina

We managed to win the Considerations Cup against South Korea in the final.

The season finished with the early stages of the 2026 World Cup which helped our guys boost their tallies at the end of the season. I will review this World Cup in the next update.

Player Profiles and Performance

A fantastic return for our two guys with 175 goals this season. The 13 goals in 3 games they scored at the start of the 2026 World Cup help boost their tallies at the end of the season. I'm not sure yet if this is sustainable but if i can get anywhere near this amount again next season i'll be over the moon.

Few other items worth mentioning. Almada got recognised with World Player of the Year.

Also two stand out results which show both the power and deficiencies of my tactic. On a good day it can end up with a result like this against Juve.

On a not so good day we have a tendency to ship a lot of goals like this result below. This isn't a major problem as my guys are able to rack up the goals as long as i'm not on the losing side of it too regularly.

Season 9

Our Argentinian duo are now in their mid 20's so the aim is to hit the same kind of figures as the previous season.

I wasn't going to bother with transfers but i screenshot them so you may as well see them. The squad had got a bit bloated with some players unhappy at lack of game time so more were shifted on than brought in.

Brushed everyone aside this season, wasn't all plain sailing as a few finals went to ET.

Argentina

So we left last season with Argentina bout to play Italy in the 3rd round. As you can see that was our toughest game on paper as we had a nice easy route to the final and Ghana were no match. World Cup winners!

Special mention to Brazil spanking us 7-2 after we had 2 men sent off in a friendly later in the year!

Few fixtures at the start of 2027.

Player Profiles and Performance

A few goals short from last season but more than happy with the total. DT will be rattled off next season and then i may go for a double 1k. Almada is on 519 goals and is 26 years old while Bonfiglio is on 602 goals and a year younger.

Bonfiglio just notched a 100-goal season and is perfect for the central striker role, whilst Almada plays just to his side and as you can see is the main creator. I may need to tweak to get more goals from Almada. Bit of time to mull that over yet.

Thanks mate and yeah that will be the triple crown which I was aiming for. Probably my most enjoyable one this one too.

Cheers mate, I’m using a setup like I used for my bad boys from Brazil challenge with a central striker and one just to his left. Few tweaks here and there but seems to be doing the business.

Double Trouble target reached, assists nearly there, target now is to get each player to 1k.

So to summarise Season 10 was another great season with 172 goals, but Season 11 we dipped to 153. Bonfiglio was the main reason for this as he was well below par, not sure why but hopefully he will bounce back next season.

They are now aged 28 and 27 but i think a double 1k is a possibility, Almada has more work to do and is the older player so i may need to look at that but if he can keep around the 80's for another 3 seasons then he'll almost be there.

Double Trouble is in the bag for goals, just 2 assists needed to round it off.

He is indeed mate, i had noticed him on my Madrid save when he was in his mid 20's and he looked great for a free so kept a mental note for this challenge. It will be interesting to see how he develops in real life.

Season 12

This was nearly a double update again as i am nearly at the end of season 13, however while i have the opportunity i thought i would post this season as Bonfiglio absolutely smashed it.

Excellent season and very close to a 100% record in the league.

Forgot to screenshot the end of 2029, these are the results so far going into the 2030 World Cup.

Player Profiles and Performance

Almada missed about a month with injury so goal tally down slightly, his ratio seems fairly consistent though. Few attributes dropping which is a concern this early especially considering he needs more goals than Bonfiglio. No need to worry just yet though. His assists are really racking up nicely now too.

This guy was the star man this season - i was looking for him to bounce back after a disappointing previous season and boy did he! 90 club goals is a record high in this career and helps get us our highest DT figure of 182 this season. Again some attributes dropping slightly but when you look at the key facets of a striker he has them all - aerial, shooting, decisions, movement, pace, strength. A fantastic striker!

The DT is now complete and we are looking good for a double 1k, i would just like Almada to notch a few more.

A 100% perfect league season which was nice to achieve, unfortunately we lost the CL final for the first time in a while which means we miss out on a few extra games next season.

Argentina

Lost the World Cup Final in extra time to England.

Not much to report this summer.

I did achieve probably my fastest hat trick on this years FMM with Bonfiglio taking just 7 minutes in this game for Argentina.

Player Profiles and Performance

As i mentioned i swapped their roles throughout the season and it did seem to get Almada more goals and they both finished on pretty much the same, 70 and 71. Whether i stick to this i'm not sure as i do prefer playing with Bonfiglio through the middle.

I would like to think Bonfiglio will hit his 1k next season and hopefully Almada within two seasons if we're lucky.  By that time they will be in their early 30's and will start to decline so to hit those targets then would be great.

Season 14

Thanks everyone for your comments, really appreciated.  The aim for season 14 was for Bonfiglio to get his 1k and get Almada a bit closer to his 1k, and also keep that DT score increasing. I would also like Almada keep up his level of assists to get a decent place on that particular leaderboard.

So a few less games this season due to the CL loss previously. We managed to win the lot despite dropping a few points in the league.

Just about to get into the latter stages on the Copa America so will report on that next season.

Player Profiles and Performance

Bonfiglio resumed main goal scoring responsibility and smashed his 1k target! Almada missed a few league games due to injury so his club goals were down but he had a great season for Argentina netting 23 times for them. All in 177 goals combined for the season so i'm still enjoying a few good seasons until age really does kick in. Almada also moves onto 562 assists which is a fantastic total.

I mentioned last update about my fastest ever hat trick - well i beat it this season with this Almada hat trick in 5 minutes! 

So moving forward Almada might hit his 1k next season if form continues from previous seasons. Once he has done that i will reevaluate my targets and see what i can squeeze out of them in their twilight years.

Yeah I noticed that, thanks mate I’m really pleased with how this career has gone. Just finished season 15 and they’re showing no signs of slowing down yet. Will post it Monday when back at work.
