Season Ten

55 goals needed to get to 1kc. Could we do it this year?

I did a few more transfers:

And we did well as a club, bringing home pretty much everything.

As for Geubbels, he grabbed a nice clean 100 goals in 64 appearances.

And a further 25 international goals.

This gets us well part the 1kc target. It’s not far from 1.5kc now. But, wait, what’s that? 

Yep, for every success on here there seems to be failure. This has happened:

He wants a new challenge, won’t sign a new contract, and requested to be transfer listed.

Oh well.

Fantastic season but that news at the end is a right kick in the teeth. I feel for you here as I had exactly the same with Parrott and he wouldn’t sign for about three years! It hindered his returns by about 15-20%!

Hopefully you can get him to sign and quicker than in my case.

I had a similar thing with Felix in another save, and others, including Ian, have had it too. The ‘wants a new challenge’ thing crops up a lot this year.

Season Eleven

Last season Geubbels decided he wanted a new challenge and handed in a transfer request. How would he get on whilst he was unhappy and I was frantically trying to get him to remain?

We did a few transfers...

... but only after Geubbels had a goal disallowed in winning the European Championship.

We won everything besides the French Cup.

On to the main man, he got 82 in 60 games for PSG. 

It’s a bit stupid that I’m disappointed with 82 considering in previous careers I’d have been delighted, but that shows the ridiculousness of this game and Vibe’s challenges at times.

He grabbed 16 more international goals, which too was a drop. Still, I can’t argue with 181 so far.

Now, whilst the drop in goals was annoying, this happened at the end of the season:

He signed a new deal. This game is weird at times. I legitimately hated the game for a season and then out of the blue his mood changes and he signs a deal. Realistic? Not at all. It just seems so random and makes a bit of a mockery of the programming.

1,168 goals in total and at least 3 seasons of contract remaining to grab my 1.5kc!

Yes that’s the sort of drop in goals I was expecting which is still great as you say.

I’m glad he’s signed and it looks like he’s well on course for the 1.5k now.

Season Twelve

Having gotten a bit of contract drama out of the way, it’s now just a case of redesigning the squad a bit. Most of the squad are early thirties and I’m moving them on to make way for my youngsters and essentially my next squad.

We demolished Brazil in the Confderations Cup.

And did well domestically:

At this point the French Cup seems to quite regularly clash with international games at the middle rounds.

Geubbels was back in the 100s for PSG.

And got a whopping 35 more goals for France, taking us past the 200 needed to be added to the International Goals Leaderboard.

That gives us 140 in total for the season, which is good but it’s also worth bearing in mind that he is 28 and in his prime.

192 needed for his 1.5k.
