SEASON 14

Meh

Thought we were on for something special but Rosolek fell apart in the last month, went scoreless for like 6 games.

Lost at the same stage in the Champs League after Juventus smashed us 3-0 in Turin, and lost a chance at a perfect domestic season with an inexplicable loss at home to Cracovia in the 31st game. I did rotate a few, wanting to see some of my young talent rather than the same boring guys, but we went on to smash the next few games so I don't know what happened with the one defeat. Ah well...

Transfers: 250m zloty profit this year, mostly fuelled by selling my aging Polish keeper for good money, plus one of the wingers (I counted at the start of the season that I'd managed to get up to 11 wingers!). Didn't find a keeper I liked so bought two good young uns and let my Brazilian reserve have a go, but he doesn't seem up to it so I might let him go.

SEASON 15

A new PB, hitting 90 in a season for the first time, with the 90th goal being an extra-time winner in the Champions League final... Yeah, I'd say the season went pretty well

(did this shot of the game rather than the "newspaper" shot just to show the Clear Cut Chances! Also, the arsenal red card was for arguing the goal)

Made 500m+ zloty profit on my transfers too (approx £100m+).

 

Had a good feeling about the season when it started like this:

Plus for the first time ever, we finally got a player in the World XI!

Smashed the league (of course), although Lech did so well that I could only confirm the title with five games to go. Ended up being my best goal-scoring season, but 3 short of my best goal difference.

Cracovia beat me again (!!), 1-0 at their place, while both of the draws were 4-4!

One of those was against Górnik, who proved to be a further pain in my ass a few weeks later:

Have to show you my corner-taker Mexican right-back too - in that hot early start, he had 20 assists in the first 9 games!

AT THIS RATE THEY'LL REACH THE TARGET IN... the next two seasons! This season was a massive boost, so now we need just 67 in each of the next two seasons to cross the line. Let's hope we can bang out as many as possible next year while they're in this mood, and then we'll see what's remaining...

funnily enough...

i was never interested - i don't like the NT job part of the game. but Poland were consistently being beaten by Faroe Islands(!!) so I started looking out for it, changed my News Feed so that I'd see if he got sacked...

and ever since then, they've been doing really well and the NT manager is Secure!

fortunately, doesn't look like i'll need it now

they both have birthdays around the start of the season, so they are 31 now, will be 32 shortly though. i was gonna post their profiles but to be honest they're not much different from a few years back - they both had little dips in some stats but then kept performing and getting boosts from matches which seem to have balanced them back out.

Fabulous season!

I’m not overly keen on International either but went with it on my Moise save and I had to change the way I play as I usually try to stick to real players for as long as possible but that seemed like a stupid idea with managing Italy so I went for young Italian regens earlier on to develop them. It helped a lot as my Juventus and Italy team are always practically the same so that makes it a lot less time consuming when it comes to picking the squad as I used to hate when that screen would come up and there’d be loads of injured players needing replacing. Anyway it turned out to be quite enjoyable but of course Italy are a big nation with a lot of great players so that kind of helped. 

Anyway, well done and just a final push needed to reach your target.

Transfers - made 250m zloty profit. Had a horrible season of moodiness, with my GK, LB, BWM all throwing wobblies at the merest idea that their understudy be allowed a run of games. New GK (Oblak regen) blossomed, and my polish bwm ousted my Brazilian, who left for the prem. Didn't really need to buy anyone - grabbed a good young French keeper to replace the outgoing, and that was my main signing for the year.

And of course, they couldn't resist giving "Foreigner of the Year" to some of my boys (specifically here, two of my wingers)

Clean sweep, with young Lukasz being my loanee.

About this..... Those late two goals obviously took the gloss off...

Especially when Chelsea scored 3 in the first 20 minutes in the second leg!!

Twice they went ahead, 3-0 and 4-1, but fortunately I got a couple more to take the 8-6 aggregate win!

Just the six for us...

i forgot to point out but his 50th goal was the winner in the champs league final. and he had hat-tricks in 3 of the first 4 games, so he had 10 goals from 4 games. so actually he tailed off unacceptably!!

The deed is done!

Maciej missed a golden chance at the 1200th...

But the next game saw us home, with Lukasz getting the big goal, and his mate fittingly getting on the scoresheet too:

 

It took us 943 career games to get there, which is not incredible but not bad They've scored 43% of my goals in that time:

 

So now, for the good of the team, it's time to unleash this beauty, who has patiently waited his turn:

The third-best player in the world, my reserve striker... Must be a Lewandowski regen

With the lads aging, I'll start using this guy more as my main striker, rather than religiously playing my DT pair whenever they're fit. He'll almost certainly always be paired by one though, with the other on the bench, for now...

Otherwise, well, I've never had a son......

I don't like old players, I usually shift em on for the next young thing. But I'll play these two to a finish for my final DT score, and then see what comes...
