Career Tree in Poland - DT completed, final score after 20 seasons

Hey hey, it's me again!

As discussed elsewhere, I have a tactic that I really like at the moment, with two up-front, so the DT appeals to me.

But of course, I like to do something a bit different. And I can't actually recall any careers this year on the Polish league?

So I did some scouting on hot 16-year-old Polish talent... And after an unfortunate misunderstanding which nearly landed me in hot water with the police and the missus... I found the guys I was looking for!

And the two best young strikers I could find were already at the same club - the obvious one - so I checked with my Polish colleague whether this team were the evil empire in Poland that everyone loves to hate. He assured me they aren't, so game on!

I think I'm on three possibly entertaining but ultimately unsuccessful challenges in a row here, so I definitely need you to wish me luck

But I'm hoping I've learned some lessons, so we'll see... First season should be posted in the next day or two 👍

SEASON 1

Transfers

Brought in a RB, BWM, AML, CD and LB, plus a couple of loans, of which Zagadou was the only regular (and he was fantastic)

Lots of useless crap to trim from the squad (how do they build these squads in real life?!) - and Napoli tempted me for my AP, giving me a healthy profit and some money in the bank to play with. They played him a few games and then loaned him back to a rival in Poland!

 

Competitions

The Polish league, like the Belgian, is a 16-team league that then has a "Championship group". But the Polish final stage is 8 teams and you play them just once again. Also it's hectic - pretty much the same as Belgium, but with a 6-week winter break rather than two, so the rest of the fixtures are squished together!

Anyway, no-one could catch me before the final stage started, but they didn't declare me the winners until the first game of the final stage...

Think I won 15 in a row at one point. Bodes well for the challenge if the opposition is weak!

The domestic super cup was my second game, comfortable enough, but I got knocked out of the Polish cup early

We got through four rounds of qualifying for the CL, and didn't disgrace ourselves in the group stage, losing 2-3 to Hoffenheim and then in Valencia, before crushing Lokomotiv Moscow 5-1.

Then we started disgracing ourselves, including a 5-2 loss in the return in Russia

Credit to Rosolek's agent, who managed to get his lad a lot more than poor Zjawinski was on!

A few contrasts to my last project - I left training to my assistant, and the computer does a much better job at it than me!

And thanks to @Scratch for his help in explaining how players improve - I rotated them well and subbed them off if their rating was good to preserve the good rating and ensure it led to a boost.

And in the other save, I had to wait a while for my first goal - here, I got off the mark within four minutes of my first game!

Rosolek got into the act soon enough too:

 

Even got a hat-trick out of Lukasz by the end of the season:

 

And a spot in the team of the year!

(there's Szymanski too, the guy I sold to Napoli!)

 

So what was the final verdict?

Target 1200

Total 36

AT THIS RATE THEY'LL REACH THE TARGET IN... 2051/52!!

So I'll need them to speed up a touch but still, encouraging! Rosolek did well in the end after a rough start. And Zjawinski is great, he fit right in from the start.

Looking forward to season 2 now as I start to properly mould the squad...

Good start for the youngsters. Do you know how Piast Gliwice did on your save as I believe they won their first ever top flight polish league title last season in real life. I know a few people from there you see and have been to the stadium.

@Ianyeah they didn't even make the top 8, i didn't check how far down they got but i don;t think they got relegated. i'm aware of them, we (the superbees) signed Joel Valencia from them in the summer, their best player apparently...

SEASON 2

Transfers

Not too much... I invested 20m zloty overall, with the notorious Scott McKenna being the main incoming - I needed a CB in January and he showed in my search, his wage demands were excessive but he took the maximum I could offer, making him far and away my best-paid player!

Otherwise I got an AP for 10m and two other CB's, and that was it. I had a loan CB from Werder Bremen but he wasn't as good as Zagadou so I sent him back when I got Scott. Gomez barely played either, and I ended up sending him back, but Kluivert was decent for me.

Outgoings was mainly trimming fat, with the largest one being my 3rd-choice LB.

 

Competitions

Converted my two defeats last year into draws, breaking the 100-mark. Added the FA Cup too. Full details below:

A brute of a Champions League group:

Had one more point than last year after just three games, but then lost the last three to give us a less hectic second half of the season again

I beat Barca at home! They weren't happy and went 4-0 up in 30mins at Camp Nou in revenge. PSV were the killer though, 0-0 and 0-1 despite dominating both games. Hopefully we'll finally start making progress here next year.

Rosolek's great season led to him topping the domestic scoring charts:

Both players were still improving well:

Zjawinski's great first season meant he led a clean sweep at the Polish player of the year awards, ahead of an IF who broke through in the second season, and my decent young keeper.

And so he was already on the national team radar, despite his tender age:

He didn't actually get on - and Rosolek ended up making his international debut first, at a shockingly bad Euros for the poles:

Yep, even the Faroes beat them!

I had to improve zjawinski's contact due to foreign interest, and they were back again in the summer:

I'm sure they'll be starting to look at Rosolek soon enough too:
