KANEGAN TAKES OVER THE REIGNS AT ROMA

In the news coming in from last night, it was reported that Mr. Kanegan has been announced the new head coach of AS Roma. He takes over from Claudio Ranieri who was let go after just 2 months in charge.  The news met with mixed reactions from the fans as any appointment of Kanegan is always taken with a pinch of salt. While we all know what he is capable of, we are also wary of all his antics and his sometimes explosive relation with his players.

True to his self, he gave an interesting interview where he mentioned that he will be bringing his unorthodox and famed strikerless formation to the club and which means club legend, Edin Dzeko will be shown the door and talented youngsters like Patrick Schick will not get any chance.

He further revealed the two wingers who would form the part of the strikerless trio.

Justin Kluivert, the son of Dutch legend, Patrick Kluivert and Cengiz Under, the Turkish 22 year old.

When asked who would be the final member and perhaps the main man of the trio, he just said, "Expect the unexpected"

We hope this signing brings good news to Roma who are waiting for their first Scudetto in 19 years and first trophy since 2007-08 when they won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiano.

TRANSFERS START AT ROMA

True to his words, Kanegan stamped his authority on the transfer window shipping out the strikers Dzeko and Schick to RB Leipzig and El Shaarawy to Espanyol. He brought in only 4 players, all in different positions. Von Balmoos was brought in from Young Boys as a future first choice goalie, Uduokhai was picked up from Wolfsburg as the man leading the defense, Marko Rog from fellow Italian club Napoli as the leader of the midfield and Milot Rashica, the Kosovan winger from Werder Bremen as a backup to Under and Kluivert.

When asked why he brought in such young players, Kanegan fired in that this is Kanegan's Roma and there is no place for old, wobbly legs.

We further pressed him for answers regarding the man leading the attack as we haven't seen any recruitment in that department and only two days remained for the window to close but he just flashed a grin and said "Guess Who??"

Good luck mate, look forward to seeing who the final part of your trio is.

Best of luck, I have no idea who the final guy is so I’ll just wait for confirmation.

Thanks guys. It's actually the main guy and one with which both of you are familiar with. 😃

THE BIG REVEAL

After pestering Kanegan for over two weeks and with the first pre-season friendly less than 48 hours later, he finally called a press conference.

So, today you get to see the person who will be the shining jewel of this team. The name which will stay on your lips even a decade later,

Zaniolo.png.639d3940af980e7d0b2c6cd13a901ba6.pngScreenshot_2019-09-23-07-21-59-27.thumb.png.40d281ff9fa07572191c31cef8304ee6.png

The entire press was in shock. He had just named a 19 yr old to be the core of the team. A man asked " What exactly do you want to do?? What is your plan??"

"A Strikerless 1K & More" pat came the reply sending the gathering into fits of laughter.

Strikerless 1K?? in Serie A?? You must be kidding

"We will see about that" finished Kanegan and walked off

Zaniolo usually develops into a beast, he had almost all greens in a previous Real save. Good luck.

Zaniolo is a truly terrific player, one of my favourites on this years game. I’ve used him in centre midfield a good few times so it’ll be nice to see him as the main man for a change. Good luck.

You picked the right guy man. I've used him in the SS role before and he outscored the two strikers in front. All the best

Great start, I love to see all of those upward green arrows next to his attributes. You can see he’s going to be some player in a couple of years.

This is a really tough challenge you picked for a final save of the year but that’s a nice start.

Good luck.

Thanks mate. Yup, it is quite tough in the Serie A but i have faith in Zaniolo and hoping he crosses the line for me.

i used Roma in the Nordahl Challenge - Under is a total beast! i struggled to get much out of Kluivert - clearly good but i always had better options (i liked El Sharaawy in the IF role). Schick can be a beast too, but fair enough.

worst of all - i ended up ditching Zaniolo 🙈

probably my failure really, rather than his - i should've thrown him in and got the best out of him, and he'd have grown nicely into my system. but i never gave him a fair chance.

so i'll definitely be intrigued to see how you get on, though i'm sure you'll smash it like a boss 💪

Nice choice of players from the looks of it - though I'd never even heard of Zaniolo before now (been a bit of a hermit this year). Looks great though, coming along real nice. Good luck mate!

It happens when you are busy developing a nice app. Zaniolo has been on Vibe's scouting list this year and even i reaped his rewards in some test saves so i am hoping to go the full way with him. Thanks

Also busy with work and family stuff too.. sigh... 😄

I rarely look at the scouting list, but I usually find out the hot players from reading careers, which I haven't done so much of this year. My loss for sure!

Season 2

Forgot the transfers screen but i brought in:

1) Barella, a young Italian BBM option from Cagliari for 30mil.

2) Ristu Doan, a Japanese wonderkid who could be a backup in my wing from FC Groningen for 20 mil.

3) Mattia de Sciglio, an Italian WB from Juventus for 34 mil.

4) Manuel Akanji, a frontline BPD for my team from Dortmund for 37 mil.

Zaniolo pumped in 5 against Inter to send them crashing to a 6-1 defeat and it was too much for the board as Spalletti lost his job soon after. Ancelotti, Allegri and Conte still survives so beware, the Coach Hunter is on the prowl.

Zaniolo won the POTY, both the League and UCL Golden Boot and got a nod in the World XI. Under finished second in the POTY which made me happy and Zaniolo finished second to Dembele for the Best Player in Europe. I also chipped in with a Serie A MOTY but what was more interesting was Mandzukic finishing ahead of his team-mate Ronaldo in the Golden Boot standings. Wow!!

So, 100 goals crossed by the age of 20. Next target is to achieve 500 by age of 25 which means i need 80 goals for the next 5 seasons. Hoping to get the Italian job soon.
