Hey everyone,

Just yesterday, I was staggered to be given the prestigious honour of "Best Career" at The Vibe Awards 2019 for my "Goal A Mile" adventure, which you can see here:

The basics are to navigate from one end of the country to the other, with the goals of your designated striker earning you the miles to qualify for your next job.

I certainly enjoyed it too, so I'm up for jumping straight into the new game with another attempt.

But what do people want to see?

Another attempt at the same route, UK south to north? Truro City sadly got relegated from the VNS in real life, so the route would be Plymouth to Elgin this year.

Or maybe I should go the other way round? North to south?

OR MAYBE we can go continental with this?!?!

I considered France, Germany, Italy and Spain for it, but i hate France so forget that. I asked my Spanish colleague to help me identify the northern- and southernmost clubs, and he helpfully pointed out the Spanish clubs in North Africa and the Canary Islands, so as they're determined to make a mockery of it all, they can fuck right off.

Leaving me with Deutschland and Italia. I have tried to identify the two extreme points for each country, though if anyone wants to check, please feel free :)

Otherwise, please vote - I'll definitely do whichever gets the most!

Feel very free to leave any other feedback below too :)

Cheers!

I’m kind of looking at either Italy or Germany. Germany seemed best at first but not as many miles although that could be a positive as you could maybe take a more varied route. Germany it is for my vote.

You didn’t fancy starting in Germany then into Poland before getting enough miles to jump Belarus into Russia and then across Russia into China and finish in the southern most club there?

I went for Italy as I think there are more clubs in the game available to manage.

Enjoyed reading your career! Great that you are going to do the challenge again. I agree with doing the challenge in a different country now to have some variety. Italy would maybe be more suitable because of the number of clubs available (3 Serie C divisions).

However, may I remind you that both in Italy and Germany they use kilometres instead of miles? ;) So Germany could be really challenging in this way, with 813 km a.k.a. goals to go. Italy might become quite impossible in this way though!

I was going to suggest something like this, maybe try and cover as much of Europe as you can. Not sure if the lack of end goal would make it less appealing though in truth.

:D maybe in FMM21 - southernmost playable club in continental Europe to northernmost?!

but yeah, i meant to say, it's quite a journey and commitment - if it's two seasons per week (and it won't be more for me, that's for sure!), that's 15 weeks, so four months or so 😮 so it'll be a fun way to jump in to the new game (hopefully), but i'd only do it once per game i'd say!

surprised (but happy) to see "going abroad" coming out on top so far. should all be interesting in any case :)

Very true, out of interest did you check Russia or US? With how big they're I wondered how daft it could be as they're the extreme lol

I’ve voted Italy, but to be honest you could go to any god damn country/continent you want! Go east to west, north to south, whatever! The crazier the better 😅

It might get a bit tedious starting in Scotland as there’s every chance you’ll be moving between a lot of smaller clubs which would get tedious. Unless you bang in a load of goals at Elgin.

Toss up between Germany and Italy but went for Italy as their lower league system is massive and Germany’s is a bit monotonous.

Have you considered Portugal for this challenge? The rectangular shape of the country was made for this challenge and there's 102 clubs to manage. I've got Portuguese roots so I say forget the poll results and go with this beautiful nation 😂 👍

I didn't consider them, no - when I started thinking about "going abroad" those other big four nations in Europe obviously came immediately to mind, and that was as far as I got. Didn't realise there were so many in Portugal! Do you know (or could you find) the most Northern and Southern? Then I'll crunch the numbers and see what we're looking at.

However for FMM20, Italy is the hot favourite here. Any more votes to try and change my destination? Poll's open till Wednesday...

I think from Chaves (North) to Farense (South) would make for an interesting journey. I might try one myself one day.

last day of the poll, FYI. Italy has three times as many votes as Germany, so it looks clear, but just in case you want to make a change, go ahead :):)

Go from Ireland to Turkey then!

Galaway United to BB Erzurumspor = 3168 miles.

Make it a team challenge though so 106 needed a season to go direct.

Ireland, into England, into Germany and finally into  Turkey.

Blame the 4 league limit 😂

if you wanna get multi-league about it, you're probably best off doing Scotland to Spain/Italy (via England and France).

anyway i didn't even get bloody UK done last time, so don't wanna run before i walk! Italy will be a bit of a challenge but hopefully some fun :)

Italy it is. Just been doing some research and Sudtirol is a bit bloody isolated!! 90 goals until I can look at Cittadella or Vicenza 🤦‍♂️

I'll make sure to follow your '20 version of this challenge this time. Your '19 success has put immense pressure on you, whether you like it or not 😜

:) just makes for a bit of a tricky start - need to hit the ground running and make sure my first striker can get a lot of goals, maybe even having to deal with promotion along the way. like UK, once you get moving, there are loads of options, but the most remote is quite far away from the rest!
