Head-to-Head

Challenges -

5 years on and I have finally found the time to update my long list of H2H battles, originally called The Manager Face-Off. Some have undergone a simple facelift, while others have had to be replaced since they were no longer applicable. They are all 1-season challenges you'll be facing with your rival manager(s). It's a H2H type of challenge but in fact, you could also go for H2H2H to make it even more fun. Each of these challenges test a different aspect of the game and how you as a manager deals with them. How well can you spot talent and help them develop into worldclass players? Buy smart and add that special player who makes the difference? Create a powerful striking duo or trio? Possess a tactical nous to get underperformers to perform again? Even having defenders to assist or score goals?

This updated list includes all 21 playable FMM leagues with 14 player-based and 14 team-based challenges. I've done my best to offer a diverse buffet of challenges for everyone to enjoy. I leave the rest up to you.

Find a rival manager and put together your own Best of 3 - 5 - 7 - 9 series from the list below to prove there's no better manager here on Vibe than you!

Challenge I

Olympiakos Piraeus - (Greece)

H2Ha.jpg.190220f0c848bd7cdb81e06c89fb4345.jpg

What better way to getting to know your new FMM league with one of the best, if not the best, club in Greek football history. Winning a total of 75 national trophies puts them in the top 10 of total titles won by a single football club. And season 2019-20 won't be any different as they're already off to a great start. Now on to your challenge. There's some quality midfield players in this squad. Remember Valbuena? or the Greeks Masouras and Bouchalakis, Brazilian Guilherme or talented Portuguese Podence, then there's Soudani and Mady Camara from the African continent.. or do you go with a squad player we haven't heard of (yet)? Your task is to form a deadly duo of assist men to feed the forwards. It's a mini Double Trouble of assists in Greece.

Your job: Use your starting squad, 0 transfers, and select a DT pair. DT pair with most assists wins. If tied most goals wins.

Challenge II

1860 München - (Germany)

H2Hb.jpg.dd644fcffb80172850624ad1343468c9.jpg

1860 Munich is one of the founding members of the Bundesliga in 1963, and has played a total of 20 seasons in the top flight. In 2003-4 they were relegated to the 2.Bundesliga and never recovered from it. The following 13! seasons were spent in anonymity in this division. But then in 2016-17 things turned really dark for these former W.German champions (1965/66). Not only did they lose the relegation play-offs, they were also unable to obtain a 3.Liga license for the 2017-18 season -due to a certain shady individual's "unwillingness" to pay the necessary fees-. Heartbreak for the fans as this meant the club suffered a double! relegation to Regionalliga Bayern, the 4th div. Promotion was immediately secured, finishing 1st, and are now back in 3.Liga. Still a place many football fans believe a club of this stature does not belong. It's essential for you to find a leader with great leadership skills to move the club forward. Win promotion!

Your job: Buy/Appoint a leader with green leadership attr. Leader with highest AvR (min. 20apps) wins. (Note: failure to promote to 2nd div brings victory to H2H rival).

Challenge III

Sporting CP - (Portugal)

H2Hc.jpg.ed29dacedff745cab8bb52f2b456170a.jpg

This club has always been considered one of the top clubs in the world to produce young talents. The training methods on this renowned academy are focused on individual improvement, as the players who train at the club from a young age are usually technically excellent and aren't afraid to take opponents on and take risks. They have produced two Ballon d'Or winners in Luis Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo. Not to mention the 8 of 11 starters in the Euro 2016 Final vs hosts France. Those are truly numbers to be proud of for a club praised for its youth development. The First team as well as the Reserves are loaded with talents. You're hired to work with these hopeful talents so don't even bother touching that transfer budget. Produce the next Figo and Ronaldo.

Your job: Train 2 Portuguese talents (aged 15-20) already at the club. The 2 pupils with most combined PoM awards wins. If tied highest combined AvR.

Challenge IV

Brentford - (England)

H2Hdd.jpg.2d5cf617279c64beebe290a3b7d3d444.jpg

This club has started their 2019/20 campaign reasonably well sitting comfortably in the top half of the table. However, upon analyzing all 24 SkyBet Championship teams the thing that struck me the most was how few Englishmen the squad consists of compared to teams like Blackburn, Luton and Middlesbrough. These three have over 20 English nationals in their squad. Brentford's accommodating less than half that number, the lowest of all teams in the division. The Challenge: you and your rival manager(s) have been called upon to take the "English route" so to speak. Take the hot seat and demote/release/sell all non-English players. Use the sales + transfer budget to bring in Englishmen only! Nothing personal, just business.

Your job: Get Brentford an ALL-English squad. The highest finish wins. If tied most league pts followed by best GD.

Challenge V

FC Copenhagen - (Denmark)

H2He.jpg.e72322bf5cc97758bf8c2fb19b652254.jpg

A Danish football club with a domestic trophy tally of 21 league titles and cups combined. This makes them the most successful club in the history of Danish football. And again, we've got another new FMM league in our hands, so what better way to learn all about it with a solid team. This team features a forward line of very lethal proportions. To you the task of finding the best 3. Soteriou, the Cyprus man? Uruguayan Santos perhaps? Three talented Danes in Wind, Holse or Bendtner (yes, The Lord, one) or silent force Daramy and man-in-form N'Doye who don't make your dilemma any lighter. Lots of forward options here to score loads. You need NO market dealings for your Triple Threat in Denmark.

Your job: NO buying players, so find your top 3 forwards from starting squad for a mini TT. The trio to score most goals wins. If tied most assists wins.

Challenge VI

Panathinaikos - (Greece)

H2Hf.jpg.2d06501a8c45f753a8e3ce33095dabc5.jpg

One of the so called 'Big Three' in Greece. A hugely successful club; Super League x20, Greek Cup x18 and several QF-SF and one Final appearance in the European competitions, tho never winning one. Roughly 2011-12 onwards saw The Greens enter a period of riots, a ship captained by no one, and eventually -via shares- entering fresh waters with the fans at the steering wheel. That's a decade of turmoil in a few words. For this challenge however we're focusing on the club's success period in 1970-71. Under the guidance of Football Great Ferenc Puskás, Panathinaikos made it to Wembley losing the EC I to Ajax (0-2). The formation, a 4-3-3, proved a massive success nonetheless. You're brought in under the condition that you attempt to replicate this success period. Have your men play in a 4-3-3 set-up (incl. alternatives 4-2-1-3 and 4-1-2-3). The player roles and match settings remain your responsibility. Use your budget and delight the fans.

Your Job: Prepare the squad to play a 4-3-3 style of formation in ALL games. Most won games in all competitions wins. If tied league rank -> league pts.

Challenge VII

RSC Anderlecht - (Belgium)

H2Hg.jpg.6e2bf5098b1c65e7a979c3b9138de717.jpg

This Belgian top team hasn't had the easiest of seasons last year and struggles to dominate the grass it once did. They have turned to a former son of theirs in Vincent Kompany, who's won nearly every available trophy for club teams with Man City in the past decade. The surprise appointment of Kompany as player manager has many fans believe that success is just around the corner. Positives: there's a large selection of decent midfielders to build your team around. Negatives: very thin on quality options up front. To you the task of making sure the fans love what they see on the pitch + ensuring Vincent's got a very big impact upon his return. With or without transfers. Oh btw.. 'big' equals assists and goals.

Your job: The Manager who gets Kompany the most goals + assists wins. If tied Fairplay kicks in.

Challenge VIII

Ajax - (Holland)

H2Hh.jpg.d0e267e3563bc6a2d522f4cfc76ba67c.jpg

Ajax have had fantastic attacking midfielders over the years. Some are youth products from the club's renowned academy while others have joined during the latter stages of their careers to show their skills in Amsterdam for one last time. Some of these club legends include Litmanen, Pettersson, v.d. Vaart, Bergkamp, Sneijder, Laudrup, Eriksen just to name a few and of course none other than the Best Dutch Footballer of all time Johan Cruijff. Frenkie de Jong has been labelled as next in line due to his intelligence, ball control and passing ability, but he's already earned himself a move to Barcelona. Now all eyes are on Donny van de Beek, who many believe is just as talented and is expected to be playing his final season for Ajax before earning his move to one of Europe's powerhouses. Spend your $$ budget wisely.

Your job: Help Donny vd Beek become a club legend. Most assists wins. If tied most goals wins then highest AvR.

Challenge IX

Getafe CF - (Spain)

H2Hi.jpg.cc8bf84f285b785eceda9861590a0ebd.jpg

Getafe had an absolutely incredible 2018-19 season. They finished 5th in La Liga and only lost 9 out of 38 league games. That's 29! unbeaten games. That may not sound incredible at first but hey, it's Getafe remember. And to put it in perspective, only three teams managed better results in terms of fewer losses; Barcelona, Atletico and Valencia. The remaining 16 teams performed worse. That's pretty astonishing, considering their budget, and your job is going to be to attempt more of the same in the 2019-20 season. Pro's: a well-balanced team in terms of age and positions. Con's: the somewhat low transfer budget. You are allowed transfer traffic to ready your team for what's to come. May the best manager win.

Your job: Stay unbeaten as often as possible. Fewest La Liga losses wins. If tied lowest GA wins -> GD.

Challenge X

 Wellington Phoenix - (Australia)

H2Hj.jpg.18edf9ca045802b74cfca2404a684d99.jpg

This is a New Zealand professional football club based in Wellington. It competes in the Australian A-League, which consists of 9 Australian teams and 1 team from New Zealand. Phoenix entered the competition in the 2007–08 season after its formation in March 2007 to replace New Zealand Knights. The club is one of only a few to compete in a league of a different confederation (AFC) from that of the country where it is based (OFC). The club has a habit of finishing mid-table with a respectable 6th spot last year, and they're the first ever New Zealand side to reach the play-offs of the A-League finishing an impressive 3rd behind top teams Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory. Your task: spend or don't spend and give the fans a reason to cheer. Losses and draws are no good. Win games. As many as you can.

Your job: Try to reach the play-offs. Most won games in all competitions wins. If tied best ranking followed by league pts.

Challenge XI

 Rangers FC - (Scotland)

H2Hk.jpg.dd43967bf717a62965657464f500120a.jpg

Rangers have won more league titles and trebles than any other club in the world, winning the league title 54 times, the Scottish Cup 33 times and the Scottish League Cup 27 times. Rangers also won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1972. But then it all went downhill.. they were in serious financial difficulties in late 2000s and eventually entered liquidation in Oct. 2012. With a new corporate identity, the club gained admittance to Scottish League Two (4th tier of the Scottish league) in time for the start of 2012-13 season and have since been promoted all the way up to the Scottish top division. That's where we are now. We're back to revive and relive the old rivalry with Celtic. The Old Firm. Some things you just can't get enough of in life so, strengthen your team at will and goodluck!

Your job: Challenge Celtic for the title. Biggest gap to Celtic wins. If tied ALL Old Firm results count.

Challenge XII

 Seattle Sounders - (USA)

H2Hl.jpg.3404fef9c3726ed883e51e8b3dce80df.jpg

This Western Conference team have finished as runners-up on the last 3 occasions, collecting 53pts in 2017, 59pts in 2018 and 56pts in 2019. Being this close to winning the Western Conference title has been a frustration for the fans. What's missing is that extra little push in terms of tactical expertise. They need a worldclass manager to lead the team to success, so they've called your number. You're not only given the job to win the Western Conference, but you're told to do so in a convincing manner. Strengthen the squad in any way you see fit and find these players the best formation for glory.

Your job: Win the Western Conference. Biggest gap to the runner-up wins. If tied play-off results are decider -> league pts.

Challenge XIII

 Jeju United - (South Korea)

H2Hm.jpg.2032a7ae8fe35508a235f9b6ef5b404f.jpg

This South Korean team has seen their Goals Against increase significantly in the past 3 years and that's very worrying data. They can score goals as their forward line isn't the worst in the league, but the goals against has proven a major headache. A very leaky defence that needs urgent fixing. 2017 saw them concede 37gls, 2018 a still OK 40gls, but 2019 a staggering GA of 65! The worst in the league by far. Unacceptable! You're taking the seat in the dugout to sort out the abysmal defence of Jeju United. Find yourself some quality defenders in the peoples market and come up with a park-the-bus strategy. The fans are counting on you. Don't disappoint!

Your job: Waterproof this leaky backline. Most clean sheets in all competitions wins. If tied least conceded wins.

Challenge XIV

 Beijing Guoan - (China)

H2Hn.jpg.ca968ab16b111e8cf191ba11bc915496.jpg

The trend we're seeing in China these recent years is that most top division teams have a squad largely consisting of Chinese nationals with the best players coming from outside the country, playing mostly in the attacking line. This due to the limit on foreigners these teams are allowed to have in their squads. Unsurprisingly, the top leading goal scorers in the CSL are by far foreigners with the Israeli Zahavi leading the dance in 2019. You're going to put a stop to this trend. Beijing Guoan have an outstanding assist man in Renato Augusto and very promising Chinese front men: Dabao, Yuning, Ziming and Wen. Buy or select your finest two from the squad for this mini Double Trouble in China.

Your job: Form a DT of Chinese origin. The duo to score most goals wins. If tied most assists wins.

Challenge XV

 DC United - (USA)

H2Ho.jpg.62eaa73c378e707bf6a49f864440836d.jpg

Founded in 1996 as one of the ten charter clubs of the league. It's the second MLS club featuring in this list but today we find ourselves in the Eastern Conference. DC United have been very successful since its existence winning 11 national titles, tho the most recent one dating from 2013. Let's shift our focus to the star of this challenge: Wayne Rooney. What can we say about this man. At club level, he's won every honor in English, European and Continental football. England Legend. All-time goalscorer: 53 goals. Manchester United Legend. All-time goalscorer: 253 goals. Enough said about this worldclass player. How many season's he's got left in him we don't know, but take this opportunity and play him while he's still in the game.

Your job: Boss DC United and light Wayne Rooney's fire. Most goals + assists wins. If tied highest AvR.

Challenge XVI

 AC Milan - (Italy)

H2Hp.jpg.1f4d5a5c1dde2cda23217b6424ba0653.jpg

In 1987, Van Basten moved from Ajax to Milan, with fellow countrymen Ruud Gullit and Frank Rijkaard joining in 1988. In his first season, Milan won their first Scudetto in eight years, but Van Basten played only 11 games and was constantly troubled by an ankle injury. In 1988–89, Van Basten won the Ballon d'Or as Europe's top footballer. In 1989–90, he became Capocannoniere, Serie A's leading goal scorer. Milan struggled in the 1990–91 season, but the following season Van Basten scored 25 league goals, and became Capocannoniere again. Van Basten played exceptionally well during the 1992-93 season and was again voted the European player of the year, becoming the third player after Johan Cruijff and Michel Platini to win the award three times. Sadly he retired due to his recurring ankle injury in 1995 playing his last game in 1993 at age 28, the peak of his football career.

Your job: Buy a Dutch striker. The Dutch gem with most goals in all competitions wins. If tied most assists wins.

Challenge XVII

 Silkeborg IF - (Denmark)

H2Hq.jpg.24efbf765cf36fe46bd3b5c45a5d1f65.jpg

As you can see on their badge, this is a 102yo club. A successful one I might add. Champions of the Danish Superliga in 1993/94, usually finishing in the Top 3 a decade after and winning the Danish Cup in 2001. In the meantime European success was realized in the form of the UEFA Intertoto Cup, winning it in 1996. 2003 however, their relegation year, marked the beginning of a 15-year-long rollercoaster ride of back and forth hops between 1st and 2nd division. Last season saw SIF winning Div 2 and hop back into the Superliga. Tho 2019 has started very poorly with only 1 win in 16 games! GD of -19! Rockbottom and labeled "relegation team". A label the fans despise. Understandably. Your task: turn things around. ASAP. Build a team for the next decade, and quite obviously, avoid relegation at all costs!

Your job: Build a squad of 15-23yo. Remove 24+yo players before start of season. Best ranking in Superliga wins. -> Pts -> GD. (Note: relegation = Failed!)

Challenge XVIII

 Trabzonspor - (Turkey)

H2Hr.jpg.17fea825e30a7e193b90dd6a6116f7b0.jpg

Daniel Sturridge. The star of this challenge. This former City, Chelsea, Liverpool man's had an interesting career, but could've achieved even greater things according to many football fans, if it wasn't for the large number of injuries he sustained during his career. This proneness has cost him lots of goals. His tally for senior career goals still stands below 100 but could've been well beyond that figure.. if..if only.. Tho, there's still a couple years left in him to reach that milestone. He's just turned 30yo so it'll be a matter of time. How well will he cope playing for a club outside the UK for the first time is the big question. Can he quickly adapt to life in Turkey? and settle into his new team to do what he does best? Start thinking about potential signings and enjoy the beautiful city of Trabzon along the Black Sea.

Your job: Create a formation to get the max out of Sturridge. Most scored goals wins. If tied most assists wins.

Challenge XIX

 AC Parma - (Italy)

H2Hs.jpg.3b858c8e6583d35863cd1b76ab0e9344.jpg

This side was an established Italian top team from 1992 to 2002 winning eight trophies in the club's most successful decade. Then peanut butter hit the fan..

  • Late 2003 - Parmalat scandal results in the club operating in controlled administration until January 2007
  • Mid 2007 - Parma is barred from playing in all European competitions due to late payment of income tax on salaries.
  • Aug 2014 - Recurring financial 'irregularities' result in point deductions.
  • Dec 2014 - As a result of the club's exclusion from Europe, Italian dude sells his controlling stake to dodgy businessmen, A and B.
  • Jan 2015 - Dodgy businessman A is installed as president at the age of 29.
  • Feb 2015 - Dodgy businessman B sells his stake for the price he bought it, €1, while salaries haven't been paid for 6 months.

This financial joke results in a financially stricken Parma selling/releasing its best players and highest earners and that's the premise of what you'll be doing. Demote, release, sell several players until you end up with a squad of no more than 16!

Your job: NO buys! bring your squad number down to 16 players. Best Serie A ranking wins. If tied best GD wins.

Challenge XX

 Piast Gliwice - (Poland)

H2Ht.jpg.22c244975aa1d2150dd3ac8fcdc5477b.jpg

When people talk about Polish football teams Piast Gliwice isn't likely to be the first one mentioned. Legia Warsaw (13x champions) or Lech Poznan (7x titles), these two are the most successful in recent history but Piast Gliwice is an upcoming group of hungry and ambitious players. The fact that they beat favorites Legia Warsaw to the title last year in a thrilling play-off proves that. This first ever title has lifted the club to new heights and the chairman very much wants you to be part of that. And achieve even greater things, especially in Europe. Domestic success has been achieved, now their eyes are fully set on international recognition. He and the fans want the world to meet Piast Gliwice. This is going to be your main task.

Your job: Do what you must to prepare Piast Gliwice for Europe. Best CL performance wins. If tied best one in EL then league pts.

Challenge XXI

 Boavista FC - (Portugal)

H2Hu.jpg.18d57d13c754f8deb71f14da6ea37b55.jpg

Ion Timofte (AML/AMC) is considered to have been the best player in Boavista's history. Playing for the club 1994-2000 scoring only 37 goals in 146 apps, but with brilliant performances. Upon his arrival from arch rivals FC Porto where he'd netted 25gls in 69apps he was received with the greatest of expectations, and he didn't fail to deliver. In his new home he found a new tactical system that would allow him to release all his Romanian might. Boavista played with two defensive midfielders covering the spaces behind him and allowing great freedom for the skillful left-footer. This genius spread his art and led Boavista to an era of success and he soon became one of the most admired and feared players in the Portuguese competition. Give the fans a 'blast from the past' and re-create Boavista's best years in a single season.

Your job: Find a "new Timofte" with green in AML/AMC + place him in a formation with 2 DM's. Most goals + assists wins. If tied Fairplay goes.

Challenge XXII

 FC Zenit - (Russia)

H2Hv.jpg.7fe966e337202ef70ec61fbe7e23e847.jpg

FC Zenit have been trying to make a statement in Russia with their big name signings over the years. It seems it's finally paying off having crowned themselves Russian champions in last year's 2018-19 season. And this year they're once again on fire in the Russian Premier League, so they're the perfect team for this goal-scoring challenge. Quality forwards in young South-American talents Malcom and Driussi, leading goalscorer Dzyuba, Iranian star Azmoun, or perhaps young prospects Vorobyov and Bachinsky. Plenty of options for you to find your trio within the club. They're a strong enough squad as is so you're allowed NO entry into the transfer market to strengthen the team. Which three forwards are you going with for your Triple Threat in Russia?

Your job: NO signings + pick 3 players for a Zenit TT. The trio to score most goals in all competitions wins. If tied most assists wins.

Challenge XXIII

 Paris FC - (France)

H2Hw.jpg.c550d067d8d837dadf9470556659a3da.jpg

Founded in 1969 and later merged with Stade Saint-Germain to form PSG. The current Paris FC exists as a result of a bitter split up from PSG. Paris FC was to continue with the professional players in 1st div. and PSG with the amateurs in 3rd div. Eventually in 1975 PFC was relegated to 2nd div, which coincided with PSG's rise to top-flight. Unlike its big brother, Paris FC has struggled to establish itself in the following decades, having spent the majority of its existence playing in the amateur divisions. Until last 2018-19 season where the Paris FC fans were so close to fulfilling their ultimate dream of playing once again in France's top division. The promotion play-offs vs RC Lens was a nerve-wrecking one with a penalty lottery that ended in Lens going up to Ligue 1 and Paris FC with a dream of some day following that same path. Use the little money they've got to realize that long-awaited Parisian dream.

Your job: Use your FMM experience to promote Paris FC to Ligue 1. The "Promoted One" wins. If tied best ranking -> league pts.

Challenge XXIV

 The New Saints - (Wales)

H2Hx.jpg.409d9a412deb6c6c7c19a80c4ab70993.jpg

For this challenge you'll be using the best team in Wales: The New SaintsChampions for 8 consecutive times and a 9th title isn't far away. You're going to continue this total domination over the other Welsh teams. Take full advantage of your weak opponents; who needs a solid defence? Create a highly attacking formation + tactics and score as many goals as you can muster. In this challenge losing 3-4 is 3x better than a 1-0 victory so forget clean sheets (forget being in the black too) and get your most offensive line-up out of the closet. It's going to rain GOALS in Wales.

  • 2016-17: 101 league gls
  • 2017-18: 83 league gls
  • 2018-19: 99 league gls

Your job: Mold the most offensive Welsh team ever! Highest GF wins. If tied Biggest League Win wins.

Challenge XXV

 Dundalk FC - (Rep. Ireland)

H2Hy.jpg.d8d0ab8299d090e721eb87da63dcc099.jpg

There's a goal-scoring challenge coming up and Dundalk is your chosen team. Dundalk FC are the 2nd most successful team in the League of Ireland after Shamrock Rovers. Together with Bohemians and Shelbourne, these four Irish giants feature a golden star above their badge in recognition of winning the title ten times. Dundalk are the current League champions and League of Ireland Cup holders having won both in 2019. Midfielder and club legend Joey Donnelly (1929-47) is still to date the club's topscorer with 142gls in 519apps. That's a 72yo record that we can't break in a single season, but we could make a start. Only twist for this challenge will be in the form of finding a similar player to Donnelly, meaning NO green and NO yellow in the central striker (ST) spot.

Your job: Find yourself a "new Joey", a midfielder with NO green/yellow in ST. Most goals wins. If tied most assists wins.

Challenge XXVI

 Crusaders - (N. Ireland)

H2Hz.jpg.f76d0f08e115c05ec5e06364b8412185.jpg

It's Crusaders time. There's a massive problem going on in North Ireland for a very very long time. This problem is called Linfield and Glentoran. These two clubs have been dominating the NIFL forever. They have won the league a combined 76! times (Linfield 53x Glentoran 23x) and the Cup 65! times (Linfield 43x Glentoran 22x). That's a downright disaster for the excitement of N. Irish football and the neutral fan of football. Less recent history tells us Cliftonville's been trying to fight back with trophies in the league x5 and Cup x8. More recent times sees Crusaders continuing that fierce fight with victories in Cup x4 (2018/19) and league x7 (2017/18). These are very promising signs and you've been given the seat, as well as a tiny budget, to provide that fight with extra oomph vs those rival Belfast teams.

Your job: End era of Linfield and Glentoran. Best ranking wins. If tied ALL results vs Belfast teams Linfield and Glentoran count.

Challenge XXVII

 Excelsior - (Holland)

H2Hxxvii.jpg.1d7ef7dd4c46c24bb075bf131a0290ad.jpg

Robin van Persie started his senior career at Feyenoord after he'd play for Excelsior in his youth years. He started his career playing as a left winger with exceptional ball control. He later moved to Arsenal as a long term replacement for Dennis Bergkamp. Arsène Wenger decided to convert him to a central forward later on, as he'd successfully done with star player Thierry Henry. After the departure of said players v. Persie became the main striker in Wenger's 4-3-3 system. It proved a massive success playing up front as a pure striker, winning the EPL Golden Boot twice in a row. He's also been responsible for providing a vast number of assists from freekicks and corners, being a set piece specialist with a magnificent left foot. For this challenge we're going back to where it all started..

Your job: Find a left-footed player with yellow or less in ST position. Retrain him and play as a striker. Most goals wins. If tied most assists wins.

Challenge XXVIII

Leeds United - (England)

In April 2019, Marcelo Bielsa and the Leeds United squad were chasing automatic promotion to the English Premier League - a promised land that the side had been chasing since their relegation from the top flight in 2004. They faced Aston Villa, and went 1-0 up. However, Mateusz Klich's goal was scored while a Villa player lay injured. Bielsa ordered his side to allow the opposition to equalize. The game finished 1-1, ultimately allowing their promotion rivals Sheffield United to guarantee their automatic spot in the EPL, at Leeds' expense. At the season's conclusion, Leeds remained in the SkyBet Championship after failing to gain promotion via the play-offs. What was at stake makes Bielsa's act all the more remarkable, with the Argentinean coach and his side receiving the 2019 FIFA Fair Play Award for his side's commendable act of sportsmanship.

Your job: Take over at Leeds and preach exemplary behavior that promotes the spirit of compassion and fair play. Fewest total squad bookings wins. If tied fewest red wins.

Some great challenges there, I might be up for a few of those. Who‘s got the balls to take me on though? 😛

Thanks Sophia. I'm sure once people get a proper feel of the new game they'll be back here for ya 😉

I’m interested somehow lol but got this phobia of losing

It's fine to lose, we all lose from time to time and it's a lovely learning experience.

Having that said, just don't get THRASHED! 😂

No takers?

I'm a little busy atm with my own save and the current VPL community thingie. Once one of the two is completed I'll accept your offer if you're still up for it. Unless, of course, someone else feels compelled to go H2H with you.

I missed this somehow - but now I'm appalled @BatiGoal. How dare you say our name in vain while using our old badge?!?!

Dear loyal follower of The Bees, I do apologize from the heart for my failure to comply challenge with appropriate badge. This act of great disrespect and ignorance shall be restored at once, thy Bee.

A hellish crime - you shall be punished...

On second thought.. Perhaps it's better to warp these evil spirits to our VPL duel 😋
