Season 6

Sorry for the delayed update to this but haven't had much time to play recently, however season 6 was pretty momentous for quite a few reasons.

 

Firstly all transfer windows were scrapped and i got some managerial recognition.

 

Secondly, and more importantly, this happened.

The Bermuda job finally came up after they got dumped out of the WCQ by Haiti.

They kept me hanging on for almost 3 weeks but finally made their decision.

For the record at the time of my appointment Talbot had 2 INT goals and Pearman and Minors had zero.

So a massive boost heading into their peak years as hopefully i can rattle up some much needed goals at international level to get us towards that 1500 mark.

 

Thirdly, a superb season on the pitch led to this.

It was tight and we are still conceding too many but a fantastic achievement and CL football next year.

Our Europa League campaign gave us a couple of great highlights against English opposition, but we were eventually knocked out by Valencia in the quarter final in a high-scoring game.

For the record we won the Supertaca, and then won one and lost one of the two domestic cups.

Finally the fourth reason this season was a special one was because we broke the 100-goal barrier at last! Minors got 41, Talbot 23 and Pearman 43 equaling 107 goals for the season.

So this puts us 1/3 of the way there and with international football now we have to aiming for over 100 for the next few seasons to try and get us to a decent target before these guys go over 30 and start to decline.

Season 7

One of the highlights of season 7 was a shiny new 75000 seater stadium to move into, naturally named 'The Bermuda Triangle'.

 

On the transfer front we are now able to mix with most of the big boys and splashed £52m on a Brazilian prospect amongst a few others.

On the pitch we won the league again, by a more comfortable margin this time.

On the cup front we won the annual curtain raiser and again got to both domestic cup finals - and like last season won one and lost one.

We had a great run to the CL semi's and took Bayern to ET before an ex player of ours Witsel knocked us out.

On our CL run we had a couple of excellent results, beating Man Utd 4-1 to overturn a 4-3 away defeat.

Then a stunning result against Spurs at home. Worth noting my Bermudan trio were rested this game and their understudies are significantly better so that obviously helped but a fantastic result all the same.

On the pitch this was our first season with international football. We only had friendlies so haven't gone into detail but our guys contributed 16 goals from our international games. I was initially very excited about the international job and to play teams like Aruba and Antigua (thinking i could rack up some serious numbers) completely forgetting that my own players are just as poor!

Domestically our trio scored 92 goals, quite a dip from last season but i found it tough trying to rest them and get the benefit from international games as well so i need to try and manage that better. However 108 goals in total is where i want to be so can't complain and i need to hit these numbers for a good 6-7 seasons if poss to break the back of this career.

 

So 630 goals after 7 seasons and it would be nice for a big season next time out and hit that half way figure of 750. I am finding bringing more quality into the side is helping on the goal front but with the quality of these 3 i still don't have full confidence we will reach our target.

Double update for Seasons 8 and 9 that i completed over Christmas.

Season 8

Couple of newsworthy events during season 8 was the offer of the Spain job, obviously knocked back.

Then at the end of the season i unlocked sugar daddy.

 

On the pitch it was our best season yet and we won the lot. Stormed the league and never really troubled in the cups.

One annoyance this season was the sale of Cherki who was sold by my chairman completely out of my hands for just £41.5m after i had rejected offers of £80m plus earlier in the season.

 

Our trio of Bermudans had their best season to date with a total of 116 goals between them (96 club and 20 international) so we're at the figures i need to be if we are to get this done.

 

 

 

Season 9

This season saw a change in formation, mainly due to my struggles with the national team. We had been very inconsistent and despite my trio scoring we had been losing games and with some qualifiers coming up i needed to improve to keep the job. We had only played friendlies to date but i had barely any wing backs to choose from and plenty of CM's so i ended up with this formation which is something similar to what i used last year in my DT challenge. The defence and GK are now world class so they don't suffer and it seems to control games better and although i score less team goals my strikers are scoring more (but for injuries this season i would have got back over 100 club goals again).

The good thing was how positive it worked at international level with us comfortably topping this group and getting through to a WC qualifier against Grenada later on in the year.

 

On the domestic front, aside from a shock loss in the 6th round of one cup (despite 68% possession, 23 shots of which 11 were on target) we again won everything on offer. Although we did have some luck against Barca in the CL final!!

Our goal count this season was 113 combined. I felt we were on for 120-130 at one stage but Pearman and Minors both had injuries towards the end of the season so that blew that chance away. Maybe a bit more luck next season and we can get over 120 but still i am happy with this.

 

So this leaves us on 859 goals after 9 seasons with another 641 needed. My target has to be 110+ for another 5 seasons when the guys will be hitting 32 years of age and start to decline. If i can do that i should be within about 100 of my target which should be doable. That is the plan anyway!

Season 10

Just wanted to get another season signed off before i start on the VPL and a record breaking season it was with a combined 119 goals!

This was mainly down to the glut of games we had which included the WCC at club level and WCQ at international level.

Bermuda

On the international front we beat Grenada in the 1st round of WCQ's and then Haiti in the 2nd round which put us in Group C with Jamaica, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. We were soundly beat by Jamaica but put 6 without reply past Nicaragua to put us in a good position and keep the World Cup dream alive!

We also have the Gold Cup this summer.

Manager Profile and Season Summary

No clean sweep this season as Chelsea beat us in the CL semi final, we are also through to the CWC quarters which is due to be played once the new season starts so will update on that next time around.

As i mentioned our goals return this season was largely helped by the amount of games we had (68 in total for club alone), but that is exactly what i need to get this done. We also had a further attacking tweak to our setup and changed the roles around up front to what i was using a few seasons back (poacher-TM-poacher). This resulted in more goals for Minors and Talbot but a poorer season from Pearman.

 

So 119 goals for the season and it puts us nearly 2/3 of the way there and if we carry on like this (no major injuries and keep INT job) then we should be done within 15 seasons.

Season 11

Neglected this career a bit of late and it was a difficult season due to injuries to my trio.

 

 

Bermuda

As we left last season Bermuda were on the brink of World Cup qualification.

We lost the last game to Costa Rica but still qualified due to Jamaica's poor campaign.

Drawn with Romania and Argentina, no doubt we are punching here.

HOwever our performances were pretty good. We got to 2-2 with ten men against Romania until we ran out of steam.

and missed a penalty in a 2-1 defeat to Argentina which again was no shame in that result. Just to rub it in Sessa is one of my players at club level.

So bottom of the group and eliminated but on the whole a valiant effort.

 

Leiria Season Summary

At club level it was a mixed bag. Won the league, a domestic cup and the Champions league, but finished third in the World Club Cup and runners up in two further cups. All in all a very busy season and plenty of games which is what is needed to give the guys the chance to rack up the goals.

A drop in goals due to those injuries but we still posted 101 goals overall for the season. However the guys are now nearly 30 and we still have 421 goals to get. It's still going to be a challenge to get them but hopefully i will be a little luckier on the injury front the next few years.

 

 

Few other things, this challenge would be over a lot quicker if we could actually score penalties!

Also managed to get a place on the board.
