We all know I'm terrible at completing challenges so I'm doing a 2 season one this time. 

As you can tell by the title I'm attempting the Brazilian Boys. I feel like no one ever manages in Russia so I'm repping Krasnodar so I actually have enough money to buy some strikers. 

With the money I had I bought Chelsea legend Alexandre Pato for £3.5m and the 33 year old Diego Souza for £2.2m. Don’t really know what to expect from this league so I’ll be learning as I go.

I’m back with season 1 so here goes!!!

 

 

The boys at the start of the save, Souza in particular has fantastic stats for someone of his age and value.

We blew our budget bringing in our two strikers, so the rest of the deals happened in January after the pre-arranged sale of Cueva raised enough to secure the services of another Brazilian bad boy in Sandro. I couldn’t turn down over £5m for backup centre back Fjoluson and replaced him with Saveljich with some money left over.

At the end of the year, Pato secured the player of the year despite playing for half the time of the rest of the candidates. You can see his stats were shaping up rather nicely despite picking up a 1 month muscle injury in November.

So, after a strong end to the year and Zenit choking, we managed to win the league on the penultimate day.

Souza’s return wasn’t incredible, but he really suffered when not playing with Pato during his injury and struggled to get back up to speed after his return.

Shame Pato couldn’t hit the elusive 30, but I’m still pleased with what he could do.

A quick look at the table, we were generally a bit worse than Zenit, but we still got the business done. A GD of 25 and a points total of 65 add to our points for the challenge.

We were knocked out in the Champions League, qualifiers but that was a blessing as it allowed us to face some easier opposition in the Europa League, where we made it to the second knockout stage where we were defeated by Lazio. With our luck we drew Zenit away in the second game and we were beaten by the eventual winners. 

Our boys did a 1-2 in the scoring charts for the league, with Pato taking home the golden boot. 

Pato also received the player of the year award for his troubles, with Souza in 3rd.

 

The finale season 2 will be out in the coming years so stay tuned folks.

Vibe check, Inferno back again after long long last with the finale of the Brazilian bad boys challenge. Let’s get on the leaderboard!

 

Here’s the boys at the start of the season. Pato’s stats are holding up but Souza, now 35, is stagnating quite quickly, especially in the physical department. 

 

So we won the league easily, with just one defeat against Zenit, who were surprisingly terrible. 

 

Both strikers had worse turnouts this campaign, but our points tally made up for it. Pato scored 25 goals and Souza 16. They stayed injury free for the season but Souza had to be rested now and again thanks to his 8 stamina. 

 

Our tournament record wasn’t fantastic, as we went out of the Champions League in the group stage, only to be knocked out of the Europa League in the first knockout round. We lost the Super Cup but made up for it with a victory in the cup final. 

 

Pato ended up top scorer again, with an extra goal on last year. He wasn’t player of the year, however, with my bargain Erik Lamela taking the spoils from his South American compatriot. We spent a decent amount on replacing the outgoing Ramirez and Claesson on Grimaldo, San Emeterio, Trossard, Tarkowski and the aforementioned Lamela, whilst Vila and Mata arrived on free transfers. 

 

So overall here’s the tally after the two seasons: 

 

Pato season one goals: 29

Souza season one goals: 22

Points season one: 65 

Goal difference season one: 25

Pato season two goals: 25

Souza season two goals: 22

Points season two: 79 

Goal difference season two: 55

Grand total: 322
