Rules are simple, all I need to do is find an amateur club and buy one of their players. Play him half a season (dump him) and add his goals to the grand total of amateur goals. No duplicate players allowed. Rinse and repeat. 🙂

Nearly half way but I hear you with having mid save motivation issues as we have all been there.

I would like to share with both you and the whole of Vibe my own personal motivation technique. 

It simply involves staring at this photo for a good 5 minutes and really taking it all in. Once you have done that you will have all the motivation you need for whatever tasks you need to complete.

Amateur Player 18: Hircane "Hurricane" Graça

"Dummy Runner" made so many dumb runs he forgot his job was to score goals. 19 gls in half a season was all we got out of him. I'm ignoring Scottish amateur clubs for a while now as they provide me with shite players. Our standings in this challenge stand on 439 gls called for and 561 gls uncalled for. Next Amateur Player -> from Portuguese club: GD Bragança - player #18: Hircane "Hurricane" Graça. 

BG: Hurricane!

Technical Attributes - no improvements, but you know what, at this age and skill lvl I'm happy they didn't deteriorate either. 

Mental Attributes - same, except for a small drop in his mobility. Tho having Movement of 12 or 11 won't really make a significant difference in the end. 

Physical Attributes - no changes. I'm a little surprised about his 13 Stamina tho. He's had more trouble playing full games than some of his fellow amateurs with <10 stamina on same formation/tactics. Workrate? Game IQ? Injury Proneness? General Fitness or Health? 

We are still very much in the real player business. "Hurricane" started his football career in 2015-16 at amateurs Merelinense and earned himself a brief spell at professional club Gil Vicente. Chance of a lifetime for our amateur.. 

.. tho it wasn't a success as he quickly learned he missed more than just the football skillset to succeed at real money levels. Via clubs Brito and FC Amares he ended up back at Merelinense in 2019-20, where he finally scored his first gls for the club.

On a free to Sport União Sintrense he attempted to revive his hopeless amateur career but he clearly struggled to make an impact. Finally having gained enough life experience during his uneventful career he made the best decision yet. 

He joined Vigor Mocidade after being deservedly released by his former club and his new club's risk signing paid big dividends. He scored 40 gls and moved club yet again to GD Bragança where he hurricaned another 25 gls. This is an amateur I'd been having my eyes on for some time, so I sent this late bloomer a #22 Porto shirt for a 2nd chance with the pro's. Rest is history. 

Oddly enough he managed only once! to score more than 1 gl in a single game. By far the worst record of all former players. However, he did outperform all other amateurs in terms of scoring in consecutive matches. So he made up for that and ended up netting a respectable 27 gls from Jan - May. Highlight was the 120min equalizer in ET vs Arsenal. The ultimate end to Chapter "Hurricane".

Thanks. I'm 9 seasons in now, but it depends a little on the available and eligible amateur clubs for this career. I'm guessing another 4-5 seasons maybe (8-10 updates) before I may have to start looking at phonies.

Amateur Player 19: Beto "Boot it" Lopez

"Hurricane" made such a wind of things that there was always something storming. Disrupting training sessions, beef with teammates, contract issues - yeah right - as if I'm ever going to overpay an amateur! Other than that he did good in all fairness. As is we're 466 gls in the positive and 534 gls in the negative. Next Amateur Player -> from Portuguese club: Aguia Vimioso - player #19: Beto "Boot it" Lopez

Technical Attributes - wow, Technique jumped 2 skill points. That's a lovely surprise at 29y of age. I'll take that, thank you. 

Mental Attributes - look at that Movement jumping 3 skill points. Excellent improvement considering the player and time frame. I'm starting to believe. 

Physical Attributes - as usual no ups or downs. As far as I can remember I've had very few amateurs improve their fitness. I might get a second or third fitness coach in to 'force' bump these numbers. 

GOAL #1 - good start. Always nice to kickstart things with a goal to our guy. 

GOAL #10 - fast-forward to goal number 10. Only 1 in this game but it's the decisive one. Shame about the missed penalty, but I've had so so many at this point with all the amateurs I've played. Doesn't bother me anymore. 

GOAL #20 - and that's 20 in already. Right after halftime in the first 5min of the second half seems to be his fav period to score goals. He's taking advantage of the opposition still with their thoughts on the tactical plans of their coach to overthrow our dominance. Not happening. 

GOAL #30 - yes, finally hitting the 30 again. Goal 29 and 30 in. Been too many updates ago since we last hit 30 in half a season. "Boot it" earned himself a place in the club's HoF 👍 

30 from 31 is not that bad. Delighted with his return and this means we're making good progress in this challenge. I'd love to keep "Boot it" for another few months as he's proved pretty durable and better at scoring goals than the previous handful amateurs I've had, but we gotta stick to the rules so time to start looking for any possible replacements. Didn't take me very long to get the next guy in as he's the last one on my shortlist, before adding fresh names to it.

"Boot it" learned early on to use his exceptional skill for goalscoring purposes and gave us 30 goals. Been seasons since anyone achieved that number so we gotta enjoy the moment here. It may be a good while before we meet such digits again. As stands, we're 496 gls in the plus and 504 gls in the minus. Technical Attributes - among others Dribbling went up and Shooting down. Not what one wants to see but being 30yo apparently things are starting to slow down for "Sugar daddy". 

Mental Attributes - a bump in Creativity. Nice, but then again, a 6 or 7. Don't think we win finals with those kind of numbers. 

Physical Attributes - as usual nothing to report here. Which is positive perhaps for a player past his prime. 

Dominated in the air? OMFG the professional defender who got dominated by an amateur striker. Surely this was his last game for the club 😂 

Off the ball running from nomadic striker Pedro Soares could cause problems for Rugani. These match predictions are taking comedic proportions😂 

Liga NOS - Team of the Year. F me, stop shoving feathers up this amateur's pipe. Yes, he did well. But hey, he didn't become prolific overnight you know. This was definitely because of my tactical expertise only. 

OK, why stop here. Please do let us prolong the praise calling and continue the feather-shoving for as long as we F-ing can. Yes, "Sugar daddy" you are the best, not me. Yawn! 

Seriously? There's more? Still not enough, no? He's nothing without me. Nothing. Worthless. Still playing on abandoned dog dung decorated pissparks if it wasn't for me. ME. 

OK, honestly, I am kinda a little bit happy for "Sugar daddy". He hit 32 from 34. That's actually good. Very good. I take back everything. He deserves himself a proper send off.

And this bring us to the halfway mark of scoring 1000 goals with amateur strikers. 0.5KC completed with the utter garbage FMM has on offer. 👍 Hope the next 0.5K will be just as enjoyable for you and me with mostly amateur regens of the wasteful sorts. And more..

Amateur Player 21: Russell "Chip shot" Currie

"Sugar daddy" had no skills whatsoever he could apply on the pitch, unlike many of his predecessors, but we did pay one - actually kinda a lot more than one - visit to the local Bouncing Bellybutton Club. For reasons I can't disclose here on Vibe. Latest standings, 528 gls bounced into the net and 472 gls soon to follow. Next Amateur Player -> from Welsh club: Brickfield - player #21: Russell "Chip shot" Currie.

Technical Attributes - identical. No changes whatsoever in half a season. Disappointing. 

Mental Attributes - identical. Same. No ups? Yikes. 

Physical Attributes - Ditto. Man that sucks. Zero changes is kinda odd. Definitely a first in this career. Target Man turned Def Forward for no obvious reasons. 

If ever there was a case of attribute development not telling the whole story it's right here. Currie has hit the target in 4 of the last 5 attempts. Look closely. 5 goals!! First amateur to achieve such feat 👏 

Followed by a hattrick. Sweet stuff. Two penalties will do for an excellent month in terms of goals. 

And another one. Dry spells followed by braces and hattricks. This amateur is one unusual player I tell ya. 

A late goal for a third hattrick. Incredible. I've had players scoring every single game for many games straight with no braces or hattricks. But "Chip shot's" game is games of nothing followed by 3-4-5 goals in a single match. Interesting fella. 

Record! Best amateur thus far. And also the first one to achieve higher than 1gl/game ratio. 34 gls from 28 games in really good. Definitely not what I expected when I signed "Chip shot" but this guy delivered. Don't judge a book etc... I certainly won't. No more avoiding players from Welsh clubs. I'm lifting that self-imposed ban 😂 in fact, the next amateur is going to be another Welshy. And I can say he too has made a promising start.

Can’t complain at that. I was studying the attributes for changes, should have jumped to your development round up it would have saved me a couple of minutes lol.

Definitely no complaints from me @billy2shots. Just wondering why the player role change on his attribute page, not that it matters but it's an interesting one. It's usually a result of movement in attr numbers. My guess is that at some point during his spell certain attr moved in favor of Def Forward role and then moved back before the role had a chance/the time to. Meaning there's also a time period tied to the change. Dunno tbh and doubt anyone here even goes by those recommendations. Just a curiosity.
