Help Board requests

I'm currently in my third season of managing Atalanta. I have a problem with asking the board to improve the training facilities for the first team, I've been asking ever since taking them out of Serie B, at Liverpool every time I asked to improve the facilities the board agreed. Does anyone know what I have to do for the board to accept my request? Thanks in advance.

It comes down to a few factors in my experience:

• The reputation and/or success of the club: Try asking directly after you win something (also end/start of the season works sometimes)
• Your reputation: The higher your reputation the more likely they are to say yes (but Man Utd wants you so you must be doing alright in this regard)
• $10M in the bank: This is fairly new, either this year or last, but they deduct money from your account. It's $10M this year and if you don't have it in the available transfer pool, they will just say No.

hey, so I won the league and made it to the quarterfinals of the Italian cup or however it's called and had over 10 mill in the budget, then asked them to improve and they denied again...

In that case, you probably just need to wait until the next time you win something and ask again. They mustn't be quite ready to give it to you. 

Out of interest, how many stars does your club have under Reputation in the General Info page?

ok, the club has 4 stars. Training facilities are on superb and youth facilities are on excellent

Okay, with the Training facilities you are only one short of the best possible rating, so maybe you need to win a little more. Not saying the Reputation rating has to be 5 or anything, but there's really not anything you can do except keep winning and eventually they will give it to you.

ok, I finally got them to accept after winning the AC Milan derby!!!

The board are against fun. Only let you make a request after 5 good seasons!

nonsense, i've had stuff upgraded after a year or two. big difference between LLM and top-level of course...

If you start with high enough reputation and don't mind losing your starting transfer budget on facilities upgrades, you can often get them right away (before a single game is played). At least I have at both Celtic and Newcastle.
