Career Troy parrot 1k adventure (failed)

Hello fellow vibers 

Today I will be beginning my 1k goal challenge.

And the player I will using is

I've picked him because I think he has good potential, and ok stats for a 17 year old. Stamina will need work tho. and as you guessed the team I will be using is

This first update will be the 2019-2020 pre season. 

So let's look at the transfers and tactics I am going to use in this save.

I will be using a 4-1-2-2-1 formation, hitting early crosses and shooting on sight.

This is the player roles and also the my first team.

Yea didn't think of it that way, will have to change them to wingers

Wingers are awesome this year. Ifs will always steal goals from your main man.

Yea I realise that now. Although even as a winger under is scoring too many. And I'm really enjoying playing it tbh, been a few suprise results too 😀

2019/2020 season review 

 

Well what a interesting season. And troy parrotts first season as a premier league striker, so let's have a look at how hes done

so as you can see not the most successful start to the challenge, but with 6 of those goals coming in the second half of the season, I expect a lot more next season, also with troy deeney asking to become a defensive mid (he was starting pretty much every game before he asked) troy has become Watford's number 1 striker. He ended the season as joint top scorer and switching my IFs to wingers helped too. Will not be making that mistake again.

 

So let's look at how the team has done

Well me being the idiot I am I forgot to screenshot the final league table so I will write up the top ten using each teams club history

Picking up 17 points from a possible 36 against the big 6 is amazing for our first season.

Not a bad cup run at all and some great results along the way. If I could have just found a way past liverpool I would have played Leeds in the final.

I'm happy with that and next season I'm confident I will see a improvement.

20 goals is his target for next season

For Watford its European qualification, another good cup run and the Europa league group stages.

Sorry to say this buddy, but I really don't think you can make it with Watford in the PL. I mean people chose easy leagues to do 1k, I played 1k in Germany with Bayern and even there it's not easy. 

Don't wanna demotivate you though, if you pull this off, it's gonna be a miracle. A world record I'd say.  Good luck 🤞

Maybe but I'm not gunna give up, and I'm enjoying this save anyway so even if he doesnt reach 1k I will have learned and my next 1k I will do in a easier league

It's not looking  good guys, not only is he not scoring again I'm proberly going to be sacked in the next few games, and I dont have a high enough rep to go to a club who can sign him, so this challenge may be one big fail, if so I will chose a new player and team and go again.

And I called it, very poor league form has lead to my sacking, and I have been unable to get a job at a similar rep team so this challenge is over. I will be starting a new 1kc later on today in a esier league with another player on a new thread so keep a eye out for that. Until then bye guys

Was always going to be difficult this. For your first 1k I would recommended heading to Spain or France and choose one of the bigger teams in those leagues. Some of the easier leagues to bang goals in imo

Also, did you test your tactic on another save? I usually use an alternate career to perfect my tactics before starting a 1k. Although I still end up tweaking it to match the team and players I have available, but not too much is needed usually.

Yea tested it on my previous save and it worked well, altho maybe should have used the premier league to test it, also what reputation do you use when starting and do you move clubs or do you have to stay at one club, and yea I was thinking Spain, France or Germany just need to pick a player

Germany can be done but its definitely tougher than some others. Alot of good teams in the mix now. 

As far as I'm aware you can move clubs but obviously only player goals under your management count, so only switch if you are 100% sure you can sign that player for the new club asap. Don't believe there are any restrictions on rep, just no unlockables (although they can be used once earned in your 1k career).

Ok thanks, and yea decided PSG, actually just typing up the pre season now, and yea the majority of the career will be in France but when his performances drop off I'm gunna switch to a easier league so he carrys on shashing them in

Well, that sucks! Sorry to hear that. Better luck next time!

An easier league will help, as will a richer club to start with. And you might need to tweak the tactic as you go along to make it work better for the main striker. But don't get discouraged if they aren't getting a lot of goal when they are young - they often don't start getting a lot for a few seasons. 

Anyway, best of luck

Could do better with Man City tbh mine with Chelsea is hard enough to do 1kc. I’ll recommend doing at PSG will be very easy. Spain is another easy league but release clause are the main issue there

Yea tbh it was way to ambitious for a first 1k attempt, I'm using Mason Greenwood at PSG now and its going much better. I'm just about to post the first season review if you interested in reading it
