Chat Don't need to buy any new players?

I'm really struggling with my Atalanta save at the moment. I've won the champs league + serie a for the last 4 seasons consecutively plus the odd Italian cup thrown in. I went unbeaten in the league last year with only a couple of draws.

I've got to the point now where my squad is exactly where I want it and I don't need to buy and new players, instead chucking in any good youth players I get. I'm not even selling players.

Has anyone else had a completely clean transfer window, with no incomings or outgoings?

Sarcasm or you mean struggling with motivation to go on?

To answer your question, sure, pretty much every longterm career I play. Unless the challenge at hand indicates otherwise, I normally spend 3-4 seasons building a team for the next decade. And the next 7-8 seasons there's few to no transfers either direction.

yep, happens all the time. always get low transfer acumen rating and it's always not a full bar in the Board Confidence, because apparently the game thinks you should still be trying to buy BIG NAMES even when you don't need to, but otherwise i just carry on with my kick-ass team...

Yes, this always happens to me after a few seasons in of managing a club because I tend to flood my reserve team and first team with nothing but youth prospects!

What usually happens is initially, I'd try conducting my transfers to be as efficient and smart like Liverpool's, but in the end I'd always end up turning it into a Chelsea farm 😅

I'm of the idea that there needs to be a certain turnover. You can use your spine for 15 seasons, but if you don't rotate every 3-4 years/position I find that results can become somewhat less impressive. If you bring in new names every once in a while (like youth prospects), results keep more stable.

Hey, just with the motivation to go on. I really don't want to start a new save though because of the worldie youngsters I got 😂

I'll stick another couple of seasons then might go take over a smaller club and rebuild.

If you look at my career Rise to the top on a freebie you will see I haven't spent a penny and, well won nearly everything so far.

Great idea! I'll follow it now and maybe go down that route. Will only sign players on a freebie and see how I do.
