Turkish Delight - A Triple Threat Attempt

So I decided to have a go with one of the most famous challenge here on Vibe, the Triple Threat challenge, after completing 2 long term challenges which include a 30 years 1KC with a Chinese player, and the History Lane challenge.

If you have seen my previous careers, you may have knew that I'm not too good at getting a lot of goals (I took 30 years to complete the 1KC lol 😂), so I may need a weak league and a big club to achieve the 1500 goals from the 3 strikers chosen. With that being said, there's no better club choice than ...

Paris Saint-Germain! A very common choice for any goals challenges, playing in the French league with only a few clubs that can give a fight in the title race, very rich, and already have a pool of world-class players as well as talented youngsters. Well with the club chosen, let's get into the players. The career title is "Turkish Delight", a type of dessert in Turkey, pretty obvious the 3 players chosen will be from Turkey. 

Player No.1 - Ali Akman

A 17 years old Turkish striker from Bursaspor currently in the 2nd tier of Turkish league, did not have the best of attributes obviously. Being one of the 2 Turkish strikers on the wonder kid list, I'm just hoping he won't be too bad.

Player No. 2 - Fehmi Koc

One of the youngest strikers in the wonder kid list, Fehmi Koc was bought in from Antalyaspor. His attributes does look slightly better than Ali Akman which is one year older.

Player No. 3 - Omer Beyaz

The last player of the Turkish trio, another 15 years old Turkish player from Fenerbahce. He started as an attacking midfielder and will be retrained into the striker position. Did have some greens in "Technique" and "Aggression", and a decent "Shooting", just hoping that he can be a good striker.

So three very young Turkish players starting with some bad-looking attributes but with a lot of potential in them. With an average age of only 16, I'm not expecting much goals from them before they hit 20. Hopefully they can play till at least 35 years old, giving me at least 20 years to hit the 1500 goals target. Could be risky using these 3 pretty much unknown players, but their young age could be a positive side.

Turkish Delight (Season 1)

Welcome to the first season update of my Triple Threat attempt with 3 very young Turkish players. With the average age of 16, I'm not going to expect much goals from them in their first season, so this season will just for me to build the team to fit my "unusual" tactic and for the three Turkish kids to form some bond between them.

First thing I've done as the PSG new manager is to put Neymar and Mbappe on the transfer list, and Neymar's old club Barcelona came immediately with a huge 180 million bid for him. Mbappe's new club was a surprise, as he rejected offers from Juventus to join Arsenal. Other outgoing business are Marquinhos leaving in the winter window after being unhappy for not being played.

Transfers-In

Donnarumma was brought in as a long term replacement for Keylor Navas in the winter window, after some disaster performance from the Costa Rican. Fabian, one of my favorite player this year, joined the team and will be the main midfielder for the team for the next 10 years. Other signings include Javairo Dilrosun with a high crossing stats which will be the main goals provider for the Turkish trio. Benjamin Henrichs who can play in both left and right will be the substitute for Thomas Meunier and Layvin Kurzawa in the left and right wing-back position. Mario Mandzukic, a weird signing in the striker position, just brought in to be the young striker's mentor. And of course, the 3 main man bought in with some very low price.

 

Competitions

Entered the UCL final, but was narrowly beaten by Barcelona in penalties shootout.

Won the league as expected, not the best results as the team is still getting used to the formation, and the 3 young Turkish in the strikers position are just not ready yet. 2 cup trophies won, and 2 losses in finals.

The Turkish Trio

Player 1 - Ali Akman

Improvements in almost every attributes, with some "blues" and a "green" in Movement, which does helps a lot as he's playing as a Poacher.

The highest scorer among the 3 with 15 goals in his first season. Not the best of course, but he's still only 18 and does not have the best attributes yet.

Player 2 - Fehmi Koc

Still 16 years old, but already looks better than 18 years old Ali Akman with most of his attributes in blue already.

Scored only 8 goals in his first season, again he's still 16, so not expecting more than that.

Player 3 - Omer Beyaz

Not yet natural in the striker's position but already have the best attributes among the 3.

The 2nd highest scorer among the 3 with 11 goals under him.

Team Performance

Cavani was the top scorer of the team with 25 goals under him, while Bruno Fernandes being played in the striker position was the 2nd top scorer with 17 goals under his name. Both of them and Mandzukic played most of the UCL games and against some tougher opponents in the league. Javairo Dilrosun and Christian Pavon were the team's main assistor with 17 and 14 assists under them.

Triple Threat Summary

Only 34 goals from the 3 Turkish kids in their first season, but their average age are still 17 years old. Still a lot of time ahead for them to hit the 1500 goals target.

Thanks Bati, I'm relying a lot on "Mentoring" to develop the players. Haven't use this feature much, and have no idea whether that actually have an impact on the player's development and traits.

Turkish Delight (Season 2)

The kids had scored 34 goals in their first season, a horrible number, but acceptable since they have an average age of 16. Not expecting much improvement this season either.

I'm that kind of manager that don't like having a heavy squad, where a lot of players are complaining about lack of game time. Lots of players sold, just love the squad to be clean and small.

In

2 Wing-Backs brought in, Moussa Wague from Barcelona and Theo Hernandez from Milan. I enjoyed playing with Wing-Backs, and Wague who was one of the best young wing-backs this year was brought in for a huge money. Aymeric Laporte brought in after a disastrous defensive performance last season. Kingsley Coman returned to the club to give some competition to Cristian Pavon, with a few other backup signings. And finally a very weird signing, Connor Wickham brought in to be the mentor for the young strikers. 

Competitions

Into the Champions League final again, and finally won it with Cavani scoring the only goal against Liverpool.

Won the league again as expected, 7 points higher than last season, exact same number of goals with last season, and half the number of goals conceded last season. Laporte's doing a good job.

The Turkish Trio

Player 1 - Ali Akman

He was the best performer last season with 15 goals, but dropped slightly this season, only managed to hit in 12 goals. In terms of attributes, he looks better now with his Shooting, Aerial and Movement above 15, which makes him a decent poacher. Need to improve his stamina though, cannot play 2 games straight.

Player 2 - Fehmi Koc

After being the worst player last season, Fehmi Koc improved a lot scoring 18 goals this season, 10 more than his last season's tally. His attributes does not look very good though.

Player 3 - Omer Beyaz

Finally a nature striker, and a better performance than last season, 17 goals. Got his first call-up to the national team, scoring 2 goals in 4 caps, but those won't count as I haven't got the national team job.

Team Performance

I'm still relying on experienced strikers in Champions League matches against tougher opponents, playing Cavani and Wickham. Cavani end up the team's top scorer, Wickham was good enough with 12 goals, most of his goals are match-winning ones.

Triple Threat Summary

47 goals from the Trio this season, slightly better than last season, but still not good enough. They are still very young, I'm only going to expect more goals when they reach 20+. Slow progress, but that's what you expect when you choose 3 very young players. Thanks for reading, and comments are appreciated. 😀

Thomas Meunier was just a backup after the signing of Moussa Wague last season, and can't reject that huge bid from Lazio. 2 youngsters leaving the team with buy-back clause just in case.

In

Yoan Cardinale brought in as a 2nd choice goalie, both Lukebakio and Castagne as backups, and a young Phil Foden to be a rotation midfielder with Fabian.

No surprise at all as we win the league, not that impressive GF and GA though, I'm still using a much more conservative mentality, and will switch to an Overload one as soon as the Turkish Trio are ready for that. An unexpected early exit in French Cup, and 2 disappointing defeats in CWC and UCL.

Javairo Dilrosun still dominating all the awards in France.

And a first award for the Turkish Trio, with Ali Akman winning the Turkish Player Of The Year.

Turkish Trio

Player 1 - Ali Akman

Not much improvements compared to last season, but he's now a decent Poacher, just need a better Stamina.

And that's a first 20+ goals season from 20 years old Ali Akman.

Player 2 - Fehmi Koc

He already had the "Need to mature to develop" at the age of 18, and attributes stayed almost the same with last season.

Exact same number of goals scored by Fehmi Koc.

Player 3 - Omer Beyaz

Omer Beyaz had a better attributes compared to the other 2, maybe due to he's an Attacking Midfielder as well?

Not too good in terms of goals scored though, 13 goals for a Triple Threat challenge does not look good at all. 

Team Performance

At least 2 out of the 3 Turkish had more goals than Cavani now. 😅

Triple Threat Summary

52 goals from the 3 this season, 5 more than previous season. Very bad results, but their average age are still only 19, so maybe I can still stay optimistic? 

And here's some good news.

We got the Turkey job just before World Cup 2022, definitely can help in getting some extra goals.

Thanks! The values often go up and down, goes up after a few good games, and reach very low after some bad games. Pretty much reflecting markets nowadays.

Turkish Delight (Season 4)

As mentioned in previous update, I have got the Turkey National Team job just few months before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Those are the attributes of the 3 main players before my appointment, Ali Akman and Omer Beyaz had already earn call-ups to the national team, with Omer Beyaz scoring 3 already. Fehmi Koc didn't get a senior national team call-up yet, but his 12 goals in 14 U21 appearances is very impressive. 

Turkey's World Cup Journey in Qatar

An average group with England being the strongest, we beat South Korea, drew Tunisia and lost to England, but that's still enough for us to get into the next stage.

Our first match in Knockout phase was against Germany, a weak team with greyed-out players, and we managed to defeat them easily with Omer Beyaz scoring 1.

Next match was against a tougher opponent, Netherlands. A defensive tactic was played, and goals from Ali Akman and Omer Beyaz gave us a 3-1 win. Semi's next!

Our Turkey team spring no surprise as we are trashed 4-0 by Spain.

Final game of the 2022 World Cup, a third-place playoff match against Ghana which we managed to defeat through penalties. Another goal for Ali Akman in his first World Cup.

And the 3 Turkish kids dominated the Best Young Player award, after a 3rd place finish in the World Cup.

It was a dramatic UCL final, as we won it with a last minute Omer Beyaz goal.

And a first Most Promising Player award for him as well.

The Turkish Trio

Player 1 - Ali Akman

Progressed really well, while his value passed 100 million for the first time.

His best performance yet with 25 club goals + 4 ITN goals. Getting better and better.

Player 2 - Fehmi Koc

Still waiting for him to mature as his attributes remain pretty much the same with last season.

A drop in goals, where he scored 15 club goals + 4 ITN goals. Not the best of course, just waiting him to mature.

Player 3 - Omer Beyaz

Those attributes look very good, as his value is close to 100 million now.

His best season yet with 23 club goals + 6 ITN goals. 

Team Performance

Triple Threat Summary

77 goals scored by the Trio this season with an average age of 20, 25 more goals than last season. A better number for the TT.
