I started the same a couple of weeks ago. Vanarama North with Leamington FC.

I'm currently 4 seasons in & top of league two. I use a 4-3-1-2 (2 wingers) - full backs are defensive full backs. Centre backs are both No nonsense centre backs. Centre mid is box to box / ball winning midfielder & the 2 strikers are advanced forward & target man. wingers are wingers.

Sign Davis Keillor-Dunn (you won't regret it)

Edit - Also a striker called Didi as advanced forward. He scored around 50 goals in 44 games in his 1st season & his release clause was met of around £400k (i got him for free)

Have a look at the tactics thread, some decent ones in there to be honest. Other than that, judge it on what players you have, trail and error sort of thing.

I know that 3-5-2 & 3-4-3 seem to be pretty decent on this years game. Although i havnt played since the winter update so not sure if that affects them.
