Tactics Possession Based Tactics

Back in the day when i used to play FM15 ( PC didn't support later versions 😑) i saw a thread regarding 1000 passes in match. I used to play FMM little not much compared to FM but since my PC can't run newer versions i spend more time on FMM.

So For long time i have been trying to create a Tactics in which i can get near 1000 passes. TBH i failed miserably at it. Lately i have created a Tactics that can get me near 600-700 passes. My focus solely has been been on passing, not on how many goals my team scores or the so called 1k goal challenge. Noatter what i did my striker never managed to score more than 30-40 goals.

Now let's talk about the tactics.

        4-1-4-1 Possession

The tactics that i have employed is as mentioned above. 

NOTE = Against weaker team i use Winger(W) instead of WideMidfielder(WM) and against stronger or equivalent team WM.

I Haven't really fully tested it yet (Lack of free time). If someone can test it then it would really nice to know how it works , how much possession & passes their team make each game.

This post is open for discussion and suggestions about which role and what changes one should make to improve the tactics.

Interested to see how it performs in a stronger league. Looks promising though.

Interesting! Really like high possession tactics. Maybe switch DM to Anchor for even more passes. The Anchor role will give you simple passes to the more creative players around him (AP and DLP). And also play on control mentality? I think this could be a nice tactic to test..

Noted. Will try this . 

On control mentality team seems to loose some possession.. haven't tried that either except few times

Do test it. Would be nice if, by tinkering around, you can make it work. 

I really like the concept of tiki-taka . More focused on possession rather than scoring 4-5 goals each match.

Nice tactics. I tweaked the player roles and tactics to get near 1000 passes

I changed the team's style of play from balanced to defensive. I also changed the WM Role to a DW role. Change the AP and DLP to both CM to provide stability in the midfield instead of using an AP that will try to distribute risky passes and loose possession most times. Lastly I changed the lone strikers role from TM to DF in order to put pressure on the opposing defenders and win back the ball in order to retain possession
