MATCHWEEK 10 RESULTS

Vibe Challenger Division

Chelsea vs Dortmund @LTFC

A match between 2 relegation favorites Chelsea and Dortmund. Chelsea had been struggling in VCD this season and is now in the relegation zone, while Dortmund isn't too far ahead them with just 1 point separating both teams. Whoever lose this match will drop into the relegation zone.

Spoiler

Screenshot_2020-03-22-11-47-17-037_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.dbeb7ab3102bc8ee7898d49881f81191.jpg

It's Dortmund walking away with a win and 3 points, sending them to 14th place, 4 points ahead of 18th placed Chelsea with 1 game in hand. Erling Haaland scored the important goal to seal the win, his 2nd league goal this season. This defeat for Chelsea result in an instant sack for manager Frank Lampard with Sampaoli and Pellegrini shortlisted as the team's potential new manager.

Porto vs Tottenham @ThomW12

Porto shocked leaders Barcelona last week with a 2-0 win in Camp Nou, and will face Tottenham at home. Any surprises this time?

Spoiler

Screenshot_2020-03-22-11-47-19-677_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.cc79a1a4e3fa99cc5938ec874194d612.jpg

Yes they got another surprising win against Spurs in a match that seen 2 red cards. Porto come from behind to seal a 2-1 win with goals from Moussa Marega and ex-Barca player Abel Ruiz after Timo Werner getting sent off at the 68th minute. This win will send Porto ahead of Tottenham in the table, occupying 8th and 9th spots.

Man City vs Barcelona @Titjes

Featured match of the week, will Barcelona take another loss?

Spoiler

Screenshot_2020-03-22-11-47-23-071_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.fe7be8b39db81a6bc3d5e3399f704270.jpg

No 3 points, but Barca still walk away with 1 point. Lionel Messi was injured in the 27th minute, while Mbappe scored just 4 minutes later but David Silva netted the equalizer in the 45th minute. Neither teams scored in the 2nd half. Failing to win this match means that Liverpool will have a chance to equal/overtake Barcelona in the league table.

Atletico Madrid vs Liverpool @Jsavfc

If Liverpool win by more than 1 goal, they will overtake Barcelona in the table by G/D. Atletico Madrid won in their clash IRL, but will it be a repeat in the game as well?

Spoiler

Screenshot_2020-03-22-11-47-28-530_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.78d2b9a2ae0c6cd0ac272d229e9aab25.jpg

Liverpool are the winners in Madrid, with Mohamed Salah scoring his 10th league goal of the season, the current top scorer, and 4 ahead of 2nd top scorer Fiete Arp. This win brings Liverpool to 23 points and 11 G/D, both same as Barcelona, but they scored 1 less meaning that they will still occupy 2nd place. They have a chance to overtake next week though, since Barcelona will face their old rival Real Madrid while Liverpool take on a much easier Sevilla.

Man Utd @Titjes vs AC Milan

Man Utd's second consecutive match against a Milan team, they were defeated 2-1 by Inter last week, any luck for them against the red side of Milan?

Spoiler

Screenshot_2020-03-22-11-47-44-086_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.11f35428bc858c6df56f9cba9cfd193a.jpg

They did it, a 1-0 win against Milan, thanks to Jadon Sancho's goal in the 72nd minute just after a red card for Milan's Kessie. That will be Sancho's 2nd league goal for Utd, both goals are scored under the management of new manager Marcelo Gallardo. He knew how to use Sancho more than Poch who prefers playing him in LWB right? However this win for Utd may not be enough for them to escape the lower half of the table, while they are currently in 15th place, just 2 points ahead of 18th placed Chelsea.

Vibe Gold Division

LOSC Lille vs Torino @BatiGoal

The clash between 1st and 2nd place in the Gold Division, can Torino grabbed full 3 points?

Spoiler

Screenshot_2020-03-22-11-48-04-991_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.90050c384ada33d0ab1c484310fe963f.jpg

Unlucky for Torino as they only managed to hold Lille to a 0-0 draw, their 2nd 0-0 draw in their recent 5 league games, could be that Simeone's playing a defensive tactic. They are still the best team in terms of defensive though, in fact the best defensive performance across all 7 divisions, conceding only 3 goals in 15 league games. They are now tied in points with Lille, both having 31 points, but is still in 1st place thanks to their incredible defensive performances, that gives them a G/D of 23.

Spoiler

A massively entertaining match as Valencia and Spurs played out a 3-3 draw. Kang-in Lee(have a pretty soft spot for him 😁), Parejo and Wass scored for Valencia while Lo Celso and Heung-Min Son's brace restored parity for Spurs.

Arsenal @gunnersaur vs Porto

Porto has been on a roll, defeating Barcelona and Spurs in their last two matches. Can they get a hattrick of wins??

Spoiler

No, this time Arsenal stopped them in a pretty emphatic fashion with Almada and Martinez scoring a brace each and Ozil opening the score for them. Marega and Uribe scored for Porto.

VCD.thumb.png.63370d7e4ed3f87a8ae5aae8c54de19b.png

The loss to Real Madrid sends Barca down to 3rd now with PSG overtaking them with a game in hand. Liverpool are 3 points clear at the top for now. Man Utd is still hovering above the drop zone.

October Awards

Vibe Challenger Division

Manager Of The Month

Screenshot_2020-03-27-12-20-54-648_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.90645086f51d763e60537861ad0b1c89.jpg

Porto's manager Sergio Conceicao was crowned Manager Of The Month after leading Porto to an unbeatable month in October, defeating league leaders Barcelona in a 2-0 match as well as a 2-1 win against Tottenham. The runner-up was quite an unexpected name though, with Marcelo Gallardo getting the 2nd prize in his first full month as manager of Man Utd, which he led the team to 2 wins in 3 league games. Dortmund's Guardiola claimed the 3rd prize , as Dortmund went unbeaten in the month, 2 draws against Bayern and Juventus and a win against Chelsea.

Young Player Of The Month

Screenshot_2020-03-27-12-20-49-482_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.acdb37548dcb8c502d24427a181e93d5.jpg

It's Eder Militao claiming the first prize this month after being 2nd in the previous month, Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold was closely behind him, after providing a solid defensive performance leading Liverpool to the top of the table. Former Barcelona striker Abel Ruiz was in 3rd place, he's enjoying his time in Porto, scoring 2 goals and 3 assists in 9 league games so far.

Player Of The Month

No surprises here as Mohamed Salah claimed the POTM award after a very good month, scoring 3 goals in 3 league games this month, with 2 of them being the match winning goals against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. He's also the current top scorer in the league, scoring 10 goals, with Eden Hazard and Kylian Mbappe closely behind with 8 and 7 goals each.

No awards for Torino in the Vibe Gold Division this month.
