Help Player only “Learned a little” from each game

I am in my second year with Chelsea and whenever I play Conor Gallagher, he always only “learned little” and doesn’t show any progress as a percentage. Even if he plays well and receives 8/9 match rating. 
 

I was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue or if I have chosen the wrong type of training for him? I am on FM mobile

Maybe he's peaked - what does his Training page say? (Maybe post a screenshot of it?)

Says ‘Good potential for the future’ so he hasn’t peaked

So... You can't always trust that for young players. It's generally right, but sometimes completely wrong. I've seen young players say that when their real CA (ie the number not the star) is the same as their real PA, ie they have maxed out. I'm not sure why, I guess the staff are just wrong on this sometimes (like they are with the in game stars for CA and PA).

So the bad news is that if he is isn't getting any progress points after games and has the learned little message, then he's almost certainly maxed out despite that "good potential for the future message". 

The only other cases where I've seen players not earn any progress points after good games was if they needed to mature for further development or if they were intimidated by the league, neither of which is the case here. Sorry... 🙁
