Thanks both, yes it’ll be interesting to see how far he goes. Sancho has a retirement date and Dembélé wants to leave so all the focus on Bellingham.

Hi all, a two season update from this career with a bit of a conundrum on how to continue at the end which I would appreciate your thoughts on.

Season 14

Clean sweep but for a defeat in the EFL Final.

A few injuries to Dembele and Bellingham but all in another good season with 143 TT goals and 100 for Bellingham largely thanks to a season best 26 England goals.

Season 15

This season we really started to see a decline with Sancho and Dembele. Dembele wanted to leave all season until around April when he eventually signed a new deal. On the pitch we won everything but goals scored was down which I would say is down to the decline in 2/3 of my attacking force.

There was another month long injury for Bellingham but he still managed 88 goals and 131 TT goals between all three.

We also saw his best return in a single game In Season 15 with this 5 goal haul.

 

I had to rest him the next game and his replacement Ben Davis netted a 5 goal haul too!

 

Season 14 also saw his quickest hat trick, 6 minutes.

In summary this is my up to date manager profile and goal breakdown.

Targets well and truly met, now I have a big decision to make.

 

The Conundrum 

Following the retirement of Jack Clarke, who was an excellent back up to my 3 main players, my son has been promoted into the squad. He is a striker, who doesn’t look great at the minute but I had this last year and my son developed really well and ended up getting a 1.5k.

So the temptation is to end my TT and revert Bellingham into a more creative role and change my system into a single striker 1k attempt for Ashley Smog.

The alternative is to carry on strikerless and try to get Bellingham to 1.5k and Dembele to 500 assists.
 

What would you guys do as I’m not too sure, it would make a fresh challenge to try and get 1k from my son and would probably get me to the 30 season mark, but I could really try and get a huge total with Bellingham. Thoughts appreciated.

Excellent career Smog. I say ditch your strikerless and go for a 1k with your son. Wouldn't want you anywhere near Zaniolo's haul. 😁

I think a 1k attempt with my son would be more enjoyable than trudging through the remaining seasons with these 3, but I’m still not fully decided because if young Smog turns out to be a dud it could be painful 😂

Brilliant stuff Smoggy, It’s close as both ideas sound nice but I think the son 1k might be the one for me. He looks pretty decent.

Personally I’d be going for as many Strikerless goals as possible and save a 1k/2k for another focussed career.  You’ve come this far so it’s worth grinding some more. P.s. great stuff so far.

If I was you, I will most probably gone for the 1K with the son, always found it boring using the same few players for years, and the uncertainty in how good or bad the son develops will be a fun challenge. 

Anyway great achievement so far with both Bellingham and the TT.

I think you have to do what you will enjoy most but I would love to see you get more goals with your trio as they still have so much left in them when you consider there ages although having done a son 1kc I do know the temptation.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts, they are much appreciated. Jude was injured for the first game of the season so I thought I’d just chuck Ashley in and this happened. I’ve not gone any further yet but I am leaning towards a son 1k just to freshen the save up.

Season 16
Hi all, back to this career where I had a tough decision to make with my son coming into the squad. 

I was really torn on what to do but I opted for the son 1k attempt. I did one last season and really enjoyed it and I think I’d kick myself not to attempt it again.

So onto the actual season itself and the change in tactic to a single striker 1k attempt still yielded all of the available trophies, we scored fewer but that was perhaps expected given Smog’s age and ability.

The change in emphasis also allowed me to unleash this young prodigy from our youth team, I will try and get him as many assists as possible from the wing. He made a brilliant start!

Smog junior is progressing steadily and is an effective striker already, a return of over a goal a game is very encouraging. Just one annoying injury towards the end of the season stunted his progression and goal return. Also 8 England goals in 10 appearances.

 

Also for those interested Jude is still going, albeit with a squad role nowadays. Still contributing though and is an excellent professional and mentor for younger players.

 

So that puts us on 57 goals for Ashley Smog after season 16. Plenty of time to get that increased once he develops further.

 

On a side note @Foxy can you please add my achievements from the original career onto the relevant leaderboards? I think as follows;

TT: 1891 goals

Jude Strikerless 1k:  1266 goals

Dembele assists: 416

Sancho assists: 306

Thanks guys, it was a difficult decision. I was even tempted to split the save and continue the strikerless on one save and my son 1k on the other but wasn’t sure that was in the ‘spirit’ of things.
The appeal of a 1kc with my son was just too much.

Hi all, sorry to say I am not quite going to finish this career. I started a new job at the end of October and have found my playing time has been restricted massively. I hope to have a bit more time leading up to Christmas, so until FMM21 that’s me done for now. 

I did get to the end of season 2037\38 and my son was on 334 goals at the age of 22 so well equipped to make the 1k. Our young assister was also flying with 219 assists at the age of 23. 

If anyone’s wondering how Jude is looking he’s still going, more of a squad player now. He finished on 1320 goals and 233 assists, an absolute monster of a player who I’m sure will be used in a few more challenges next season. I also added him to our coaching team.

I wasn’t a member when this was going on Smog, just read up on it now, awesome career mate, Jude Bellingham I’ve used a lot this year and he’s an awesome player, well done on getting him that many goals though, crazy! Your son looks good as well, I’ve never had a son look that decent before 😁
