Career Score against 20 teams...How hard can it be?! (COMPLETED)

Hey guys. 

This is actually my first go at a FMM Vibe Challenge. 

I decided to try what looked like an easier one to start with; 

 

So, have one older player score against 20 different teams in the league...in theory should take just over 1 season. 

See below for team & player choice!

TEAM CHOICE

I did think about this quite abit, the hardest part was finding a big ish team in a league of 20 teams. Ruled out Scotland/China due to that. 

I think i chose quite a obvious choice, trying to make this challenge as easier as I can. 

 

 

PLAYER CHOICE

I actually had a player in mind for this, a certain Wayne Rooney - currently at Derby. However after loading the game, found out he is only (?!) 33 at the start of the game, ruling him out. 

To the transfer market!!

After a quick scout around, i found someone who looked ideal for this. At the ripe old age of 38 he qualifies for this challenge with years to spare. 

 

 

Yes, its Aduriz. Signed for a measly 2.8m

 

Surprising though his stats still look fairly decent;

 

The reason for the choice is decent aerial and shooting stats, the low pace/stamina is abit concerning, but hopefully playing him as poacher type wont ruin him straight away. 

Going to have to bring in some fitness coaches more than anything to hopefully keep him around that level for aslong as I can. 

Just starting pre-season so hopefully will have the first few games in a update later today/tomorrow. 

I plan to only use Aduriz in league games (as per the rules only league games count) and once he has his very important goal, he will be subbed to try and keep him as fit as possible!

Thanks Bati, hopefully it pays off as I wish it too. 

So, pre-season came and went. All games won, no real tests. 

Adruiz scored 3, he only played two halves overall, a double and a single goal. Just to see if my tactic changes to try and get crosses into him to use his good aerial ability actually had any impact. 

 

The first competitive game was the Trophée des Champions;

 

As you can see, won due a wonder goal from Pogba (£146m signing, needed someone to sure up the midfield and hopefully provide many assists to the main man up top)

That brings us to the first league game....can we get off to a winning start? Both for the team and the main man of this challenge; 

YES WE CAN!
A early goal for Adruiz meant that 1 game in, 1 team ticked off. 

He was subbed pretty much just before half time. 

Will be posting full transfer history and next few league games shortly.

Already looked at it myself, quite tempting to try since I played FM2006 and FM2007 the most so there are a lot of strikers which I have great memories about.

Im hoping if all goes to plan, will only need a few games in the second season to complete this. 

Im planning to not use Aduriz in cup games, obviously games agaisnt teams he has already scored and once he has his goal in game he will be coming off. 

Got him on penalty/free kicks duties to try and knock the goals up early.

AUGUST/SEPTEMBER

So, just finished playing through August and September. 

We carried on with a few wins on the trot, Adruiz scoring in every game so far;

Scoring for fun at the minute, 2 doubles and 2 singles. 6 goals in his first few games - excellent start. 

That was August complete, 4 games = 6 goals = 4 teams. 

September

We started the month with a few awards for our golden oldie; 

But im afraid that is where the good news stops. 

Adruiz failed to score in any of the September league games, despite being rested for the champions league he failed to continue his good form. 

The team however did quite well, despite a narrow loss to rivals Marseille, and a bore draw away from home we still sit pretty at the top of the league. 

 

Transfers

Nothing really to see in out-goings. Kurzawa was a late departure, he hadnt featured in any games so far so no great loss. 

Considerable amount of money spent bringing players into the club, with Pogba being the stand out at £146m. 

We all know his qualities, and hopefully he can prove to be a beast in the midfield providing plenty of assist to help the challenge. 

Other two arrivals, both full backs/wing backs. Picked these two based on their pace and crossing stats. Hoping they can run up and down the wing (more in a attacking sense) to provide cross after cross for Aduriz to get his head/foot/whatever body part he picks onto.

October & November

So after a disappointing September, i'd hoped his form would pick up through October and November, I guess i was half right. 

He failed to score in the first few games of October, leaving it into the end of the month to start finding the back of the net, Adruiz then went on to score 3 in 3

His effects didnt go unnoticed; 

 

His goals/rating at the start of December (a game had already been played)

Regardless of if i get this challenge done in a decent amount of games, for a 38 year old, the return is amazing. 11 goals & 4 assists in 16 games is decent for any striker.

January

As you can see, January was pretty much a cup month, with only 3 league games played. 

No goals for Adruiz during this period. 

February

Back to league games this month, and 3 more teams ticked off. 

 

March

League games played in this month are all teams he has scored against, apart from Metz, which he failed to score against again. 

April

One goal in the month of April;

I do have screenshots of the league confirmation, full transfers in/out, a few more awards (Adruiz got third place top goalscorer, and a second place POTM award) if anyone wants to see them. 

No more goals in the last few games of the season meant we had a few more teams to compete than what I would of liked for the second season.

Nearly there. The pain of this challenge is that if you fail to score against one of those remaining six, you need to wait an entire cycle of games and opponents 😂 can be very frustrating. Goodluck.

I need to do it within 12 games to join level on the leaderboard, so a goal every other game really. 

At least I am not just relying on the newly promoted teams for my goals, there is still 5 teams he didnt score against in the first season. 

It was actually quite hard to keep track on who he had already scored against come January time, when the games start replaying. Didnt want to play him when i didnt have to, and potentially burn him out for when I need him to play.

It can be a pain at times ha. I have a spreadsheet on my PC and wrote down aswell. Having to keep double checking against what Ive got wrote down and the screenshots ha 

A few times Ive had to go back through the fixture list and double check. 🤣

Great start for a first challenge. Really good choice, Aduriz is a beast irl, he is retiring at the end of this season but the last 3-4 years he's been on beast mode, even scoring a bicycle kick against Barcelona if I recall correctly. As for the challenge you are getting two newly promoted teams into the league, hopefully an extra one if the 18th team lost the playoff, and the 5 remaining teams from your division, so that amounts to a decent amount of 14-16 games for you to score. no doubt you'll get it. Season 2

So, i can show transfers etc if anyone is interested. 

Few youngsters in, not alot going out - undecided if I will carry the save on once challenge is complete so havn't paid much attention to transfers. 

Due to the fact only 6 teams needed, didn't feel the need to post fixtures but can get upon request. 

We did face a few teams in the first 10 games that Adruiz hadnt scored against, here is how he did. 

So, if you can do quick math like I have done. That puts Adruiz on scoring agaisnt 19 different teams. 

Just one more to go.....can we do it.....find out soon!

I need to make sure that the challenge is done this season;

 

So, back to this potential final game; 

Did Adruiz manage to score, and get this challenge done and over quite early on?!

Thats a big fat no. Poor performance all round, only 1 shot on target, no CCC.  

Where does that leave us?

Well, there are only two teams remaining in the league that he hasnt scored against, and sadly I have to wait a while untill we can play either one of them; 

If he fails to score against either Nantes or Guingamp, this challenge will be entering its third season, and may be over if I cannot convince Adruiz to stay another year.

Im afraid this was spot on. I just hope that come 3rd Feb i can get this challenge done. Enjoyed it, and already eyeing up my next one.

FINAL UPDATE

So, as we approach the first of 2 last attempt games, i get a message that meant I may only have 1 potential game to finish this challenge this season; 

2 weeks...not the worse injury, but considering the game 1/2 was on Feb 3rd, it had potential to rule him out. 

I checked on him before the game, and decided it was definitely worth the risk of playing him

Did the risk pay off....have I got to wait till May too compete this challenge.....

HE DID IT. 2 MINUTES IN. YOU BEAUTY.

Thats that then. Adruiz, finishing at the age of 39 scored against 20 different teams in the league only. Took just over 1.5 seasons. 

Final Screenshots; 

The day after the final game, some stats have dropped, aerial, shooting, pace and stamina for sure. Still feel I would get another 5/10 goals over the course of the season if I was to continue playing this save. 

Just check that form out, yes he didnt play every game, but average rating of over 7.5 at his age is remarkable. 

Manager profile. Started with no reputation, but spent a fair bit of cash in under 2 seasons. Price of success and all that!

I do quite like the look of my GF & GA though. Dont have the screenshot, but it works out at 2.44 goals socred p/m and 0.33 goals conceded p/m. Not bad....

Now for the final Adruiz shot. Showing the 6 goals needed this season, and overall league apperances.
