Help Ratings of players in Premier League

Since my team have promoted to Premier League this year, the players ratings has dropped seriously.  In Championship League, my players mostly have 4~5 stars CA and PA.  However, when we promoted to Premier League the players ratings have dropped to 2~3 stars.

Anyone have face the same situation? All of my coaches have gold badges.

I think its unlikely that their actual potential has dropped. Perhaps because you are in what is seen as a bigger/stronger/better league, the quality of your players aren't as high up compared to others. 

For example, 

Player A is the best player in the championship by a mile. 

Player A moves to premier league = turns out he is now in the bottom 4/5 players in this new league. Therefore, his ability stats/stars will be lower. 

I believe the star rating is appropriate to the league you are in. 

Just my take on it, happy to be proved wrong ha.

Yes this is true. I’ve made an experiment on this where Jonas Wind my lab rat were a 5* in SL Benfica then we went to Chelsea Wind instantly became 3.5*

Yep fully agree, it's all relative. A five-star Champ player is not gonna be a five-star Prem player.

As the others say, it's all relative and a very good player in the Championship may only be an average player in the Premiership.

Also the star ratings are the view of your staff and not always accurate. For example I once had a staff member tell me that Messi's regen only had 1.5 stars of potential ability. That's the way it's supposed to be, because it's not always obvious in real life either, so the game replicates that.

Behind the scenes, each player has a score out of 200 for both Current Ability and Potential Ability. CA goes up as they develop, then down as they near retirement and also takes a slight knock for some injuries (which they recover). PA stays the same apart from some very very rare cases - so even though you see the PA stars in the game change, their actual PA is not changing. Just your staff's view, relative to to the league you are in and to the other players in the squad.
