Career Smog attempts ‘The Liverpool Front 3 Challenge’

Hi all, first off thanks to @Rob for this challenge. I thought I would test out my strikerless formation (as below) and give it a go.

First off transfers were fairly minimal but I wanted to strengthen the left had side so brought in Alaba and Lainez.
 

This is a half season update and these are a few of the key games so far and the league table.

This is how the front 3 are looking, Salah is a beast. 

 

So I think that puts us on 181 at the half way stage, and even though I will need to rest them more in the second half of the season it puts us in a position for a good score hopefully.

Great little challenge and I will finish the season off in the next few days.

I am over halfway at an attempt of this challenge myself so I am watching this with great interest to see if it’s worth me actually posting mine!

Thanks all for your comments. This challenge was great fun and Liverpool have a great squad to work with.

We won the lot and didn’t drop any league points in the second half of the season. We had a bit of luck in the FA Cup final and the CL final was a tight game but we came through them.

The front three ended up with the following.

 

So 96 + 104 + 62 + 25 + 29 + 26 + 41 + 12 = 395

Really pleased with how the season went and Salah was unbelievable.

Some big numbers there. Salah scored huge for you on this challenge. 

The scores keep getting bigger and bigger on this!

i was hoping things would stay in the low to mid 300s  

I’m in Feb on this challenge but stuck at work. Hopefully I won’t embarrass myself this evening when I should complete things.

Thanks all. Salah was unreal and excellent on set pieces. On other saves I must miss a dozen pens a season, he didn’t miss one. 
Fabinho was brilliant retrained as a IWB and kept TAA out the side most of the time and I rotated between the ox and TAA at right wing. Alaba as expected was brilliant on the other side.
The results are similar to my Spurs save using the same system but I was quite surprised for it to hit form in the first season rather than a few seasons in as it has with Spurs. I guess it’s the quality of players from the off that make the difference.

I'm a bit surprised, Salah scored the most goals, in which position did you play him, if or ss? I am currently using this formation with leverkusen and the ss position scores the most for me, btw this formation gives excellent results, won the league in first season only losing to bayern, dortmund, and wolfsburg away from home.

Thanks. 
Salah was right sided IF but scored most the goals as he was on set pieces as well. Also I put it down to Salah’s extra bit of quality that he scored more.

In my Jude Bellingham career he plays SS and I generally find this more productive for goals but he is also on all set pieces so scores more than the IF’s. 

Glad to see the formation working well for you.

I use Liverpool a lot for tests and Salah is always fantastic for me wherever I play him or whatever role. He’s usually great on pens too as you say. Great attempt and score.
