I took a break from this save for far longer than I meant to as I was playing the Warriors save as well as another couple of short challenges but now that is over I can spend some time back in Foxlandia.

To set the scene I am aiming to win all available trophies to me staring a save with just England loaded whilst also doing the Second Chances Challenge which involves getting every team that has ever been in the Premier League back there for at least a season either with myself in charge or the AI in charge.

I started out at Gloucester City as my closest team in the VNN/S leagues and having won the VNN I moved to there newly relegated neighbours and won the VNL and Lg2 in successive seasons.

We join the action at the beginning of season 4...

The Fox was sat in Butlers Cafe in the centre of town enjoying a piping hot mug of tea and a bacon sanger. Since he guided Cheltenham to back to back promotions he hadn’t paid for a meal in the town and he was very content with life as he looked at his squad list ready to prepare for the club’s campaign in Lg1.

 Suddenly his phone rang with a number he didn’t recognise.

The Fox: Hello?

Mental Micky, The Fox’s Agent: Foxy you ****ing dumb ****ing **** you owe Harry the Halibut £7.50 and he wants his ****ing money now!

The Fox: What are you talking about Micky?

Mental Micky: That’s Mental Micky to you you cheeky ****er! Anyway forget that get him his money as he isn’t a man to be messed with.

The Fox: Why do I owe him money I’ve never met the bloke although I know he is the main shareholder at Fleetwood Town?

Mental Micky: Will you shut the **** up! He says you either pay him his £7.50 now by PayPal or accept the managers job at Fleetwood.

The Fox: Why would I pay him money I don’t owe him and why would I want to leave Cheltenham for bloody Fleetwood for? I have a great life here with as many bacon sangers as I can eat and a great team being built. I really think we can do well this season and then I might get a much better club than Fleetwood. So tell Harry the Haddock or whatever his name is to piss right off.

Mental Micky: I hate you Foxy, you will take the ****ing job whether you like it or ****ing not....

With that the line went dead and The Fox went back to his pre season plans. About 10 minutes later 4 masked blokes smashed through the front window, one was carry a club which he clonked The Fox on he head with knocking him out cold and he was bundled into a van.

Hours later The Fox came round, he was in a dimly lit room but it looked a bit like a Travel Lodge. Outside he could hear seagulls and could smell fish and chips cooking. As he focused his eyes he saw a local newspaper in front of him and as he read the headline his blood ran cold.

FLEETWOOD TOWN APPOINT FUDDLED FOX AS NEW MANAGER

Club 3 - Fleetwood Fiesta

I was hoping to move to a club that was on the list of former Premier League teams but it was slim pickings as my reputation isn’t quite big enough for most clubs like that and the tinpot clubs like Swindon, Portsmouth and Barnsley weren’t in the market for a manger. I decided to move anyway though as that’s part of the fun of this save to move around and Fleetwood give me a better chance to win Lg1 than Cheltenham do.

As is usual I decided most of the squad were rubbish and had to go and then I replaced them with another bunch of players who are equally as rubbish but have a few qualities that suit my all out attack style.

All that wheeling and dealing produced a team that won the league but we were pushed all season by @Mr Tree 🐝 as well as Bolton and Sheffield Wednesday as well. The biggest problem was that although my attack was great I didn’t really manage to get any good defenders and with one of the worst defensive records in the top half of the league that made things closer than they should have been.

 

I was eliminated from the League and FA Cups as soon as I could because I didn’t want the distractions but I tried to have a good go at the Checkashit Trophy as this seemed a good chance to tick that cup off the list.

Unfortunately that hope came to an end in the Northern Area Semi Finals as Doncaster did us on penalties so I will need to try again in this competition.

It had to be a striker with all those goals scored and the main man was Omar Bogle who not only had the most goals but also the most assists in the team as well.

Career Trophies so Far

I will need to go back and win the National League South at some point but I need to go back to non league to try and win the FA Trophy as well so that will have to happen at some point. I have won over half the leagues so far though but no cups just yet.

Second Chances

So far I haven’t contributed anything to this challenge as I have yet to get a job at a club that is on the list but then the beauty of this challenge is that doesn’t matter the clubs just have to get promoted.

This season saw another club ticked off as Birmingham went up via the playoffs as WBA had been promoted back in season 1 and then went down again so I have already ticked them off the list.

 

That’s 7 teams ticked off now but still plenty more to get back up to the top table and a few tricker ones that the AI are never going to do the job for me.

 

My plan is to now leave Fleetwood after just the one season and get a job at one of the teams that haven’t been ticked off yet. There is a couple of options but I won’t reveal where I am going next until my next update.

Unfortunately this was much more of a kidnapping than him telling me where to go but I think it is coming to the stage were I am going to have to take care of Mental Micky once and for all.
