Career 1000 goals in Scotland & Now England

As the title suggest, this is my attempt at a 1kc Challenge. 

Club choice should be obvious; 

And if you have read my most recent topic, the player choice is clear too;

I have actually already played 2 seasons, so will wizz through the updates till i catch up. I was waiting to play abit see how i got on before deciding to post or not. 

Season 1

Competitons;

Domestic treble - always good to win stuff in the first season, despite how 'easy' it may be up in Scotland. 

Champions league was a bit of a rough ride, narrowly missed on going through then got battered by Zenit in Europa League. 

Transfers;

More going out then in for a change. Obviously Edouard was never going to be number 1 striker in this challenge so cashed in while i could. 

In hindsight, i would of kept McGregor - would of come in handy untill new players settled in. 

Transfer in fairly straightforward. Three well known 'wonderkids' (one being Unuvar) and few back up players in case of injuries. One thing i learnt over the years is that games come thick and fast in this league, so squad has to be able to cope with 2/3 games in 7-10 days. 

Naci Unuvar;

Some good improvement already, still a fair way to go but he is only 16 so plenty of time for that. Average rating of 7.52 is decent, so happy with his peformances so far. 

What a return that is for his first season. Played plenty of games when available and replayed the early faith by. Good start to the challenge i reckon.

Top goalscorer always nice, aswell as the much flawed Team of The Year.

I did think that, but im not mad enough to go with a 2kc + others! 🤣

Unuvar is one of only a few youngsters I could afford, and would want to come and stay at Celtic.

Vignato is usually someone i buy in most saves, as i like a tactic with wingers - he develops into one of the worlds best!

I tried to pick a league i know about in the real word, plus making it as potentially easy as possible with big fish small pond sort of thing. 

(happy to change and start afresh if people feel its too close to Scratch's amazing career)

No, don't change! There's no way to avoid similar careers, no one owns the ideas / combinations. So just go for it.

Celtic are a great choice for a 1KC. I enjoy the league and it's easier than most other leagues, great for goals! And Unuvar is a great choice too and Vignato is perfect as a winger. 

Can't wait to see how you go! Already off to a great start 🙂

Season 2. 

Well, im just going to pretty much forget this season happened in terms of the scoring. 

It got off to a pretty crap start; 

And i feel like i potentially rushed him back for this one, much to our disappointment. 

Had a penalty shootout with Rangers which i lost, two of my main pen takers missing which is fantastic. Althought, we should never of let it get to pens, we dominatied the game and should of won 3/4/5-0. 

We breezed through our champions league group, only to be greeted with Real Madrid in the first knockout games. Great, a chance for Unuvar to show if he can do it with the big boys.....or so I thought. Turns out, the game had other ideas; 

5 days before the big Madrid game and yet another injury. Kinda glad they are only 1/2 month injuries and not the dreaded 8/9 months jones. 

Anyway, turns out we didnt actually need him for the game, as the boys put in a excellent display;

Much admit i was punching the air when Rico slotted home the second. 

Could we defend a 2-0 lead back in Spain, surely Madrid have gotta come out fighting???

A very early Mikey goal pretty much confirmed our passage through, the 90th minute penalty denied a famous away win, but considering the stats happy to walk away with a draw and our name in the hat. 

Next round, we got beat narrowly 1-0 away at Dortmund, and unfortunately couldn't over turn it at home so the dream of European glory was over for another season. 

The League

Not much to speak about here, the league a mere formality for my team at the minute. Would of liked to hit 100 points but, a 22 point gap over 2nd and rivals Rangers should never be sniffed at. 

Unuvar

A disappointing season, with the different 1-2 month injuries, he just couldnt get going. 

Finished the season with just 20 goals, after being able to play 29. 

Aerial has managed to go up a couple, still would like it at least blue, but other than that feel he is developing quite nicely.

This must be the first time in quite a while I have won a large amount, and still been in profit transfer wise.

Season 3

A much improved time out for this season, with just the one injury for Unuvar; 

Unuvar;

Some real good games for him this year, a few times he managed to score 3+;

So at least 16 goals going into January, I was thinking i was on for a bumper season, 30/40 plus. Lets just say I wasnt too far wrong....

But this is where the season really comes to light; we topped our champions league group with some ease; 

We managed to scrap past the first two knockout stages, Lyon & Ajax (dont have the screenshots for this sadly) which meant we had a place in the semi final. Praying for a easier draw, it didnt quite work as we had to face Manchester City twice to qualify for the final. Did we???

We only went and done it. Champions League final here we come. Find out later if we managed to win the actual trophy or just had a nice day out!

We won the league, again with ease. Managed to hit over 100 points for the first time in this save which was nice; 

Got to be one of the biggest GF & GD aswell i reckon. Real good season league wise. 

Unuvar;

We had our first snippet of interest in the young man, obviously the bid was rejected and thankfully he didnt get upset about that either which was a shock to the system; 

As seen above he had a few really good games in the first half the season, was he able to continue that form for the whole campaign;

Id say so. 36 goals scored, still not able to play every game, doubt he ever will, but thats a decent number for this stage of the challenge. 

Here is at the end of the season; 

Starting to look class now, green stats in the right places - pace,shooting and movement for me. Still not sure if i will get his aerial to around where i want it to be, but he does score a few headers now and again still.

Not as many awards for Unuvar, but the team pretty much dominated all the domestic awards which is always decent to see. 

Champions League

So as seen earlier, we reached the final. Where we would face cup favourites Real Madrid. I really wanted to win this game, hoping it would increase the appeal of Celtic to other players, finding it hard to bring top talent to the club despite having funds/wages to do so.

WE ONLY WENT AND DONE IT!!!!!!!!! Depsite a late red card for Ajer, Unuvar proved he can play with the big boys with a first half double over the Spanish giants. 

Manager;

We had just one job offer come through, during the season which again was obviously rejected. Funnily enough it came like a week after I had knocked Ajax out of the champions league;

I dont seem to have the manager profile shot downloaded yet, so will have to edit that in later. 

Season 1 = 32

Season 2 = 20

Season 3 = 36

TOTAL = 88/1000

Still a long way to go, but nearly 100 scored in three seasons is a decent start i reckon, season 4 currently being played so will update in due course.

Problem im having now, is my 'big name' players (Vignato, Ajer) are wanting to leave, willing to sign new contract but 300k a week and i simply cant afford it. Would just sell them and make massive profit, but there is literally no one of even near the same quality willing to come in. 

Rangers have this amazing regen midfielder, offer accepted but he doesnt want to swap clubs. I was gutted.

I get the same requests managing smaller clubs, like FC Porto most recently. I always give 5-year contracts very early on and try to extend every now and again before they hit their peak and start demanding crazy numbers. By that time tho the club's become a powerhouse thru success in every competition, and we can usually meet everyone's wishes.

Yeah, i tried to give long contracts to start with, and despite having 500k available in wages, the club wont let me offer more than 125k a week. 

Hoping if i have one/two more real good seasons, i can get the club to 4.5 stars (currently 4 stars) and have enough reputation for them to extend.

Excellent progress so far, I know I never said anything earlier, but yes @Scratch has used these before, and had great success, but as always you can prove how good a manager you are with the right team, and the right players, so the only advantage is you are knowing he will be an excellent player, what you don't know is, what injuries is he going to have, can you keep him if he doesn't sign the right contract, and lastly who knows how he will cope with your tactics, team and amount of playtime, I say good luck mate, a good first few seasons behind him, now go and smash the 1K challenge as he matures to a World class player

Season 4

After the European success last season, I had high hopes for season four, and it definitly didnt let me down. 

The League;

Yet again the league a mere formality at this point. Disappointed to lose 3 games, but still clear winners. 

Champions League;

Quite lucky to get through this group actually, Man City proved too tough to beat home and away, and my defence quite leaky away at Villarreal, but we managed it. 

Again we faced Madrid, and after a 1-0 defeat at home i was not looking forward to playing them away. Thankfully Moise Kean grabbed what proved to be the winner in extra time after Toni Kroos had thought he put Madrid through. 

From one Spanish giant to the next. Barcelona lay in waiting in the QF, and surprisingly did not put up that much of a fight. My away form against the big boys is definitely stronger than my home for some reason. Tactics etc are the same. 

I did not expect this one, everytime i have played Liverpool with any team they have just been awesome. Anfield proved a tough ground with us taking a 3-2 defeat, knowing we had to get a result at home, Ajer & Bellingham providing the goals. 

Onto the final for the second year running. 

I gotta be honest, i was quite confident going into this final. Chelsea are no-where near as strong as the teams faced in the knockouts. 

My confidence was well placed as the main man Naci gave us a two-nil lead till Chelsea pulled one back with only a few minutes remaining. 

So thats 2 consecutive champions league. This save going rather well i reckon. 

Naci Unuvar;

Only had the one stand out game this year, few hatricks and doubles, but this is the only 3+ game sadly;

He is starting to attract interest quite often now, £100m being the latest bid turned down (Got a feeling the chairman would accept this in reality ha)

There was some positives though, quite early in the season hit the first landmark of 100 goals for the club. 

And a decent injury free season meant he carried on his form throughout

Biggest season so far in terms of goals scored and games played actually. 

Here is how he looked come the end of the season; 

Some good looking greens, pace/shooting/decisions. Aerial still poor, but working on that.

Been keeping an eye on the Holland team, looking for when the job came up. Luckily enough after the WC they sacked their manager. My application went in, confident about getting it considering my reputation, then this message;

Fantastic. Another few seasons till i can get that. It will be vital for me to complete the challenge I reckon.

We did have a job offer come through out, sadly not the one I wanted;

 

Stand out performances;

Putting a new bit in here, showing any other stand out performances throughout the season. 
First one goes to young Jude Bellingham, who show at the WC for England and it didnt go unnoticed; 

Scott McTominay;

Joined in January for £10.5m to join as a BBM, he proved just to be a ever present player. Found it hard to drop it, his passing was just unreal;

Vignato;

Everyone knows this man. Luckily, after him getting upset and wanting to leave, the 2nd champions league win meant he was happy to sign a new contract. So thats at least another 5 years at the club. He is turning into a quality player, and although scoring a few more than id like, his consistency down the wing is frightening.

He’s developing very well indeed and you can see he’s going to turn into some player. Aerial used to be something you could increase really easily but I think it’s a bit trickier now. Regardless, it’s looking good this, keep it up!

I'm surprised they didn't give you the Holland job after winning the Champions League, but now you've won it again (and will keep winning it most years), you should get it the next time it comes up. 

Same thing with how much the club will let you pay when offering contracts to players, the more you win the CL, the higher your club's reputation, the more they will allow. There's always some players who want to leave no matter what, and I seem to remember phases where both Unuvar and Vignato wanted more than I could offer, but eventually it all got sorted. 

But as for McTominay, I'd be tempted to get rid of him - he's obviously great, but 10 goals and 3 assists is the wrong way around for a midfielder in a 1KC. So I'd normally look to replace him with someone who assists more and scores less. Though maybe that's because he's a BBM rather than him as a player? I've always found BBMs great for general saves, but not so much for 1KCs, so I often just use CMs who stay back and pass it on instead of getting forward. Just a thought though!

Season 5

We won everything on offer this year, complete clean sweep. 

Champions league final was abit iffy, hardly any action all game then 3 goals in extra time. Managed to get the job done though. 

Naci Unuvar;

Only real stand out game this season for him was the group game against Liverpool. This result surprised me, but needless to say ecstatic by the end!

This is him at the end of season, Aerial finally out of orange which is good. Swapped his training to focus on TM (playing him as a AF though) in an attempt to speed up the aerial training. Greens in the right places though, high greens even better. Still room for improvement. 

His best year yet for goals & games. 48 scored this year, nice spread aswell showing he can score in pretty much any game. Want to hit 8.00 in average rating soon though. 

Transfers;

Alot more going out then in right now. Squad is virtually where i need it to be, so just trying to make profits. Taking a leaf out of @Cockers2505book and raiding clubs for free agents. You may notice that Joe Gelhardt came in and left, vitually in a few days but a steady 20m profit. 

It is surprising the amount of clubs who let amazing players/potentially amazing player just wind their contracts down. 

Awards;

There is probably more I have missed, this season was over before the weekend but only got round to uploading it. 

International;

So, having missed out on the Holland job last time year, i knew that the 2022 World Cup could provide another chance. 

Holland went all the way to final, but despite that the job came up....my application went it and......

ITS MINE. 

This should help in the next few years to hit 70 goals + a season. 

Unuvar was on 10 goals international wise when I took the job;

Other clubs are starting to take note of my constant success up in Scotland and the offers are coming in, surprisingly quite hard to turn these down considering the clubs coming in;

Managed to get the Holland job after the most recent world cup. 

After the second CL win, most of my players happy to sign new contracts, surprisingly actually not asking for as much as before. 

McTominay hasnt played as much in the most recent season, signed a amazing wonderkid from Rangers who does seem to be scared of shooting (although not 'unprofessional' as a trait, and is rarely up for SPL games so might have to move him on) and another young upcoming lad from my own academy who is breaking through. 

Will play around with the roles in midfield, always gone with BBM but if its going to mean they keep scoring 10+ each a season definitely worth changing to CM or even BWM maybe.
