Career The Warriors: The Battle Ends

Ian - Season 15

Hello and welcome to the latest update of this warrior battle and today we’ll find out how my Dutch boys performed in season 15. With the triple threat completed last season we’re only really playing on for a few more goals towards the TT total and to try and at least get unofficial DT’s from Josh and Boadu/ Postema. It’s looking unlikely we’ll be able to get Boadu and Postema an unnoficial DT unless they play on for a good few years yet and I can’t see me wanting to go that long anyway so not much chance. Our assister will take a bit of a back seat now I think as he’s slightly declining which could hinder our goalscoring warriors so don’t be expecting a big return from him.

Transfers

A colossal £500m was spent as we brought in a new batch of superstars. I think I may have bought and sold some of these already but I can’t remember which ones as I’m writing this.

Team Results

We lost out at the semi final stage of the French Cup but won everything else including the CWC at the beginning of the season which gave our warriors a good few goals before the main season started.

Warriors

They didn’t suffer too many injuries this year and even Boadu’s 2 month one wasn’t so bad as the spell out included two international breaks so more or less just one month in total.

This was probably the standout game with all three scoring warriors on the scoresheet.

Our assister didn’t produce much as he’s more or less a squad player now so just 10 assists for him, he’s still looking good though but we have better and I need to think about our goalscorers. The striking warriors had a good season with a combined 118 goals and it was Josh as usual with the most with 50 of them, Boadu managed a nice 40 for him and the Postmsn hit 28 so nice going. In total we have Josh on 679, Boadu on 488 and Postema on 472 so if we can hit a half decent return next year then we could reach the Josh with both other players unnoficial DT’s which is our next and probably final target.

Another great season mate. Hope you reach the 2k before you've had enough 😂

Thank you Woody, yeah just a case of plodding on now. I’d love to have got the unofficial DT’s from all combos but doesn’t look likely with Boadu and Postman. Still can’t complain at all though with how it’s gone.

Excellent season Ian. I’d love to have seen your score had you kept ITN

Thank you Rob, if I hadn’t played so fast and got ahead I would’ve been able to keep it. I have tried to get the job back a few times but seems they’ll never forgive me for walking out. Annoyingly though they must’ve sacked and brought Seedorf back about three times.

You continue to put up great seasons. Agree with @Rob with INT you would have scored a lot more.

Thank you Kane, I may have done but on the other hand I may have got sacked with this system as it doesn’t take a lot to be wrong for it to fail and if it does it’s a bad fail.

Another great season Ian.

It will be interesting to compare TT club goals at the end of this career as I have a feeling our totals are very similar with only ITN being the difference.

Thank you Foxy, yeah it would be interesting. There was nothing I could do after I’d left the Holland job but keep going for the TT. Just wish now I’d rotated either Boadu or Postman to the central position a bit from time to time and we’d probably be looking at all unofficial DT’s. You can see that’s annoying me slightly but can’t complain really.

Foxy - Season 15

My goals target is set at 2k goals and once I get to that point I will evaluate and see if I will continue my save or park it up. I could actually get to 2k this season if I hit 151 goals.

This season was one of some annoying injuries with Capanni missing 2 months and Pellegri missing a total of 6 months with first a two month injury and then needing to have surgery later in the season which would take 4 months to recover. This 2nd injury wasn’t so bad as it happened in April so near the end of the season but then it is a World Cup summer so he might miss that.

Cappy has always been a limited player with good numbers in key areas and then a lot of orange but he is declining fast now with his physicals average at best. He can still pass, dribble and cross so it’s isn’t quite over for him although somehow his creativity is going down.

Since he broke his leg and missed most of season 11 he has alternated between having a good season and a poor season and this was a poor one. He hit 25 assists and even with the injury he played 52 times so it wasn’t a lack of game time but simply the fact that he isn’t the required standard any more.

I will continue to play him and hopefully he can at least do as well again next season and get to 450 career assists.

The Goal Scoring Warriors

All three lads are still looking good although Pellegri pace (what he had of it) is going now. They certainly look capable of getting goals for a few more seasons yet which is good as I didn’t quite get to the 2k goal mark this season. That is fine with me as I’m happy to play another season and because I am nice and close to 2k I can at least go well over that total hopefully plus I still need to get an unofficial DT from Pellegri and Selcedo

Some bad injuries but still a great total and you’ll just have to wait that little bit longer for the complete unofficial DT’s and 2k.

Esposito still looks very nice indeed.

Season 15 - England - Rob

2,000 achieved last season. It’s now a case of just building on that. Just worth remembering, Dembele won’t resign a new contract.

Transfers

Not much really. Just trading English players in, improving and retraining positions, and then funnelling them out.

I can tell your on the wind down now 😂

A brilliant season though mate despite your little voodoo.

The unofficial DT's are coming together and Rogers is getting close to another 1KC, which would be nice.

Ian - Season 16

My target for this season was to hopefully hit unofficial DT’s from Josh with each of the other two warriors. I’m being brief as that’s where I feel we’re at as I’m not in a battle for any top prizes so it’s just the odd personal target I’m going for now and I could stop at any time but with our goal warriors hitting a good 118 goals last time out and being so close to the DT’s I could never have stopped things there so here we are having completed another season.

Team Affairs

Some big money signings to hopefully keep us ticking along. All trophies were won except for the European Super Cup and even though the league was won comfortably there were a fair few dropped points as you can see.

Warriors

I mentioned last time out that our assist warrior was being pushed to the back seat and this season saw the end of him as he didn’t play a single game. Our striking warriors fell off a cliff as all they could muster was a combined 68 goals so some drop off from the 118 they hit last year. In their defence they are declining now and played in much less games but you can’t help but think that the end is near now.

It was 28 a piece for Josh and the Postman and Boadu chipped in with 12 after suffering an injury ravaged season. The good news though is that we hit our target of getting Josh to the DT total with both other strikers so all in all I’m happy with the season.

So with that I thought I’d be bidding farewell to this but a few days ago I actually played one more season in a bid to try and see if there’d be any chance of getting Boadu and the Postman to the DT total so I’ll be back for at least one more update.

Thank you all for following along.

Well done mate, its tricky to get the best out of them when they are declining but you did well.

Look forward to your next season though, sounds intriguing.

Well done Ian. It is horrible when one player is declining and you have to play them, let alone three! The tactical switch was a great idea.

Thank you Woody, yeah they’re hindering us a bit now in terms of results. I didn’t put the fixtures up but we had a few horrible results in the league early on and at one point I didn’t think we’d win it. I can’t complain with how things have gone though really.

Thank you Rob, yeah it makes it hard when you’ve got three declining that’s for sure. Josh only has a year left and the others two but none will entertain negotiating so that will more than likely force me to finish as I’d need more than two seasons to get Boadu and Postema to the DT total. If I finish next season I can see whether Josh will sign up at some point in his last year to give me an idea of whether the others might the next year.

@Rob another great season especially Elliot with his assists as he is still just racking them up.

@Ian that’s horrible how they have declined but I think you got the best you could out of them.

Thank you Foxy, yeah they can still score a few goals and Boadu had horrible year for injuries so no reason why they couldn’t have hit another 20 odd goals if things had went our way. Just have to see how they get on next year which could be the last.

Foxy - Season 16 - The End of the Road

When I got to the end of season 15 I was 10 goals away from 2000 TT goals and also 10 away from the third and final unofficial DT between Pellegri and Selcedo. It would obviously have been rude to not carry on and get those goals and finish the season.

I also decided that season 16 would be my last unless I had a strong desire to continue, which I don’t. I simply don’t feel there is much more to be achieved that keeps me motivated to play the save into the years when the players are declining quickly as both Capanni and Pellegri already are and Selcedo and Esposito are starting to show signs that time is catching up with them as well.

I would much rather finish on a high with a good season than keep grinding on squeezing out a few more goals and assists from them but hating every minute of it.

I had hoped to beat my personal best if 550 career assists with Capanni and for a while he looked like he might do that but in the end his broken leg in season 11 lead to some inconsistent seasons and a quick decline in attributes.

That said Cappy was a bit of a punt as I had never used him and he never really developed into an all round world class player. He can cross and pass though and it looks like he will finish with the highest season assists total in this save out of all four of us unless @Rob gets an amazing season out of Elliot.

That season best was 49 assists in season 9 and he will finish 463 career assists. Not bad for someone who the coach’s have described as selfish though the whole save.

His final season continued the trend he started of having a bad season and then a good one and this was a good one with 36 assists which was a good way to finish. He could have got a few more as well but his season was cut short with an injury that ruled him out until the Champions League final.

Goal Warriors

It will come as no surprise that I got the 10 goals I needed for 2k TT goals and then a fair few more as well as the goals I needed from Pellegri and Selcedo to get there DT.

My run of injuries carried on this year as well with the Cappy one above but also Esposito missed quiet a chunk of the season as well.
Two month for a twisted ankle!?!

Epic is an understatement but thats what it is and now was.

Your warriors fought well and bravely and deserve all the spoils that fell before them.

Well done mate a job truly well done.

Fabulous career and more or less all of your targets achieved. I’m sure your warriors will enjoy their retirement.

Reading that has helped me make my decision and I’m almost sure my next season will be my last.

Congratulations.

Season 16 - England - Rob

Firstly I want to congratulate @Foxy for what was a wonderful career on here. Brilliant stuff, especially the 167 goal season which is the highest scoring season.

Over to the English boys... up until now we are 2,162 goals and 445 assists. Let’s see how well we can do. I will sort of rattle through this until the player performance bit.

England

We came fourth in the World Cup.

Transfers

Here they are:

Nothing of note.

Club Performance

Solid season in terms of trophies, but take a look at that league performance. The dwindling abilities of the boys is starting to take its toll.

Player Performance

Harvey Elliot got another 27 assists this year, taking his total to 472. He has four years contract left after this.

06285B1E-06C2-4761-A0F3-796DA660908E.thumb.jpeg.659efaec3f61547ea57180b6cb9b572e.jpeg8055ABAC-246E-4DAD-A82C-23DFC0112339.thumb.jpeg.e903f326e98d6a99a906e3f412b8dfd7.jpeg

However, I made the decision at the end of the season to bump him to third choice left winger. Any further assists were to come only when he would be substituted on. My focus is, and always was, on the goals.

The other boys grabbed 120 goals, taking them up to 2,282.

However, all unofficial DTs have now been completed, but the biggest news is Greenwood sailing past 1,000 goals. Yay! Rogers also now needs 127 for a 1kc himself, but is declining fast.

Next season is Dembeles’ last on contract, whereas Rogers and Greenwood have three left. Therefore, next year will be where I finalise the unofficial DTs he is involved in and also finalise the TT score. I will carry Rogers and Greenwood on to improve their unofficial DT score and also try and get Rogers a 1kc too.

Warriors

So with Woody sadly finishing a few seasons back, Foxy concluding his, and Ian looking likely to finish next year, the Warriors are all looking battle weary and tired.

Don’t forget I had the highest single season assists total as well 😉 had we been more consistent we might have given you more of a run for you money.

Congratulations on the Greenwood 1kc.
