Career Class Of 19' : A Man Utd Career With Greyed Out Players

Class Of 19' : Introduction

Welcome fellow Viber's to another career of mine. As the career title suggest, this will be a career based in Manchester United, probably my weirdest save this year, managing in the red side of Manchester despite being a Manchester City fans. In this career, I will be attempting multiple challenges, while doing something special. Without further ado, let me introduce to you the multiple challenges I will be attempting in this challenge with the Red Devils.

Challenge 1 : Emulating Giggs  by @JustM1kePlays

In the first challenge, I will be attempting to emulate the career of Man Utd Welsh legend Ryan Giggs. The aim of the challenge is to use a Welsh 15/16 years old ML/AML and try to have him emulating Gigg's career. It's a point-based challenge, where points will be awarded for each targets, which included winning 13 league titles, having 672 Man Utd appearances and more. Since a Welsh winger with the age of 15/16 years old is required for the challenge, Daniel James and Dylan Levitt aren't eligible as the new Giggs. Tbh, there's not much quality players that fit the criteria, but here's our new Giggs, introducing ... Chem Campbell!

Screenshot_2020-06-10-10-50-13-824_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.735535aeafd2ed2c9d79deedb4a4f41a.jpg

A very young central midfielder signed from Wolves, he don't have a very good looking attributes but he's probably the best player that fits the criteria of the new Giggs. Of course he wasn't a left winger, but he will be retrained in the AML position and will be playing at that position for his entire career.

Challenge 2 : The Alan Shearer Challenge by @Jsavfc

The second challenge I will be attempting in this career will be a challenge to break Alan Shearer's incredible record of 261 Premier League goals with an English striker age 22 or under. The candidate for this challenge was pretty obvious, introducing our new Alan Shearer ... Mason Greenwood!

Screenshot_2020-06-10-10-53-37-971_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.5184b8c02dfa8cd5c7c009c076bc452e.jpg

Not much introduction needed for this kid, everyone knows him. Won't be too difficult to have him breaking Alan Shearer's record, but there's a twist ...

Challenge 3 : The Devil's Number 7 Challenge by @dimashto

Here's the twist mentioned above, I won't be using Greenwood as the sole striker, but he will be pairing up with another striker which will be the new Number 7 of the Red Devils. The third challenge will be the Devil's Number 7 Challenge where I try to find the next Number 7 of Man Utd, not one but five Number 7. In this challenge, I will be using a variety of players, which include a 30+ Englishman, a young Dutch and even a defender. It's a point-based challenge, where the points are awarded for achieving various targets. In the first season, I will have to find a next Michael Owen, which is an English striker that is past his prime, and the chosen one is none other than ... Jamie Vardy!

Screenshot_2020-06-10-10-50-26-282_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.19235d846db2273e54769068269dc888.jpg

One of the best 30+ English strikers in the game, Vardy will be the first Number 7 in this challenge.

Challenge 4 : The Class Of 92'

This wasn't an actual challenge in the Challenge thread but an informal challenge inspired by @S4NCH0's Class Of 14' career which was one of my favorite career. In this 4th challenge, I will be using 6 youngsters as my new Class of 92', which includes David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Paul Scholes. However my new Class of 19' won't be real players, I will be using 5 "greyed-out" players from the Reserves team and 1 real player which is our new Ryan Giggs - Chem Campbell. There won't be a particular target to be achieved in this one, but I will try to have this 6 players being the next Golden Generation of Manchester United. Without further ado, let's meet the Class of 19'!

The new Beckham - Marcus Quirk

Screenshot_2020-06-10-10-58-43-650_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.0e93f2177f550342d2d1859ceec14660.jpg

A very young Right Winger from the reserves, starting with some poor attributes. Let's hope he can progress well, and be our next Beckham. I have no idea how good or how bad he will turned into since he's a total random player. Although there's no formal target in this challenge, I will try to have this new Beckham achieve what David Beckham did, which is to score 85 goals and providing 98 assists.

The new Nicky Butt - Malachi Hamilton

Screenshot_2020-06-10-11-00-16-558_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.4329ea54ecdd4c8c4da0055b92711a5e.jpg

Another totally random player from the reserves, Malachi Hamilton will be my new Nicky Butt. Again there's no formal target for him to achieve, but I will try to have him reaching Nicky Butt's level by scoring 26 goals and providing 18 assists.

The new Ryan Giggs - Chem Campbell

Screenshot_2020-06-10-10-50-13-824_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.735535aeafd2ed2c9d79deedb4a4f41a.jpg

Already introduced in the first challenge, Chem Campbell will be the only real player out of the 6 members of Class Of 19'.

The new Nevilles - Andre Harrop & Leon Chalobah

Screenshot_2020-06-10-10-59-49-205_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.4c0000819ec96c56c5525708df1e0cb6.jpg

Both of the Neville brothers were right-backs but since I didn't use any full-backs in this career, the new Nevilles will be Centre-Backs instead. No particular target for them.

The new Paul Scholes - Rhys Flanagan

Screenshot_2020-06-10-10-59-07-210_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.c16368359b238c7588bfa172bb5c70c7.jpg

Finally, the last member of the Class of 19', Rhys Flanagan will be the new Paul Scholes. His informal target will be to score 152 goals and providing 73 asissts, but tbh I don't have much confident in Flanagan, with his awful Pace there.

The first update will be up soon, thanks for reading and please let me know who do you think have the greatest potential in the Class of 19'. Wish me luck! 😀

PS : Please ignore the "Vibe Challenger Division" in the screenshots, I'm using a changes.txt to change the league name from English Premier Division to Vibe Challenger Division for the Chairman Game. It's only a name change, everything is the same as the original database.

I still remember the career from @S4NCH0. A real great use of Greyed players which I found quite overpowered this year. A few challenge attempt there good luck

Thanks, my batch of players probably won't ever reach the level of his 😅

With regard to the Number 7 challenge, @Nucleus posted the original version of this challenge a few years ago.

Yeah I remembered seing that one before, but that one is more to the "successful" number 7 while the one by @dimashto was more to the number 7 that flop. A little twist in @dimashto's one that involve using a defender which I kinda like.

This is true indeed, although with the quality of some of those players its hard to see why they were flops but some players arrive at a club at the wrong time with the wrong manager 😕

A few outgoing business in the first season, with most of them being departures of left/right backs since I don't use one in my formation. Victor Lindelof was the biggest name among the departures.

Just 4 points separating us and Man City, lots of unexpected defeats against weaker teams which happens when I start the Class Of 19' players, they just aren't good enough for the league yet.

A much better result in the UEL, went all the way to the final defeating Arsenal and Sevilla to meet Barcelona, where we came from behind to defeat them, thanks to a very late winner from captain Harry Maguire. First silverware for the Class Of 19'!

Marcus Quirk aka "new Beckham" was the 2nd and last player among the Class Of 19' that scored in his debut season, where his 1st goal came against Aston Villa.

An important big win against Liverpool, despite having only 9 men on pitch after 52 minute. They bounced back to defeat us 4-0 in the second meeting though. 😅

Challenge 1 : Emulating Giggs

Screenshot_2020-06-11-12-07-55-661_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.02d585cfc57707ce7dcc749f1dbd6e2a.jpg

Some development for the Chem Campbell, much more "blues" now, while position retraining is still in progress.

He's the only one out of the Class Of 19' that was a regular of the first team, and he did quite well as a 17 years old, 7 goals and 8 assists for the new "Giggs“.

Challenge 2 : Alan Shearer Challenge

We already know how good Mason Greenwood can be and he had some sweet development in his first season.

27 goals in his first season, which is not too good yet not too bad consider he's playing alongside Vardy in the attack.

Challenge Goals : 21/261

Challenge 3 : Devil's Number 7

33 years old but still looks world-class. I'm lucky for not getting any injuries on him.

Quite an average performance tbh, 37 goals for Vardy. That's +37 points for the Devil's Number 7 challenge.

The Class Of 19'

Marcus Quirk aka "new Beckham"

Not much "blues" in his attributes.

He was a rotation player with Daniel James at the AMR position, not some too impressive performance in his debut season.

Malachi Hamilton aka "new Butt"

Screenshot_2020-06-11-12-08-15-184_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.2849c4832902e1a4085ac92607ccad49.jpg

His stats actually looks the best among the greyed-out players.

Not many appearances for Hamilton, I mostly played him in the DMC position,

Rhys Flanagan aka "new Scholes"

One "green" in Technique while Pace still looks terrible.

Again not much appearance, he played as MC most of the time and sometimes played as AMC.

Leon Chalobah & Andre Harrop aka "new Nevilles"

Very poor stamina, pace and strength, can he actually turns into a good Centre-Back with those stats?

A 4 months injury at the beginning of the season and a lot of short terms injuries for him which result in that few appearances.

Screenshot_2020-06-11-12-08-22-840_com_sega.soccer.thumb.jpg.fbf1ce3cfb3e96872f97540effdb4ed5.jpg

Decent Aerial and Aggression attributes, he looks more like a decent Centre-Back.

I quite like the look of your Butt and even Scholes, not so sure on the other class of 92 boys but it’s early days yet. I can see your Giggs turning into a great player in a few years. Nice to see Vardy doing well, he did well for me too on my Goal 2 challenge.

Great start.

Thanks Ian, yeah the midfielders looks promising while the defenders are still a liability to the team whenever they play. Vardy was quite a good player, surprised that he's already 30+, always thought he's still around 27-29 lol

A few injuries for him in the last few months of the season. Only 20 goals and 25 assists for the Number 7 of the season.

Class Of 19'

Chem Campbell aka "new Giggs"

Some green's in Dribbling and Decisions for the 18 years old.

Exact same number with last season, 7 goals and 8 assists for the new Giggs.

Marcus Quirk aka "new Beckham"

Not much improvement in attributes, but the 15 Pace looks nice.

A great season for the new Beckham with 3 goals + 7 assists.

Rhys Flanagan aka "new Scholes"

He actually looks promising.

But didn't perform that well, only 1 assist this season.

Malachi Hamilton aka "new Butt"

Not much development for the midfielder.

1 goal and 2 assists from new Butt this season.

Andre Harrop & Leon Chalobah aka "new Nevilles"

Some nice development in some key stats for a Centre-Back, but his inexperience still make him a liability to the team.

Challenge Summary

Spoiler

Challenge 1 : Emulating Giggs

Points to be counted when he retired.

Challenge 2 : Alan Shearer Challenge

37/261

Challenge 3 : Devil's Number 7

S1 : Jamie Vardy - 107 pts

S2 : Angel Correa

Spoiler

20 goals - +20 pts

Winning FA Cup - +10 pts

Winning UCL - +30 pts

Winning UEFA Super Cup - +20 pts

Season Total : 80 pts

Challenge Total : 187 pts

That's it for Season 2, overall an average season, won the UCL but underperformed in the league, slow progress for the Class Of 19' as well as the Alan Shearer challenge. I'm planning to send the few youngsters out loan for them to gain some experience next season, to see whether that help their development. Thanks for reading, and comments are appreciated. 😀

Good season. Everybody seems to be developing quite well. I didn’t see Bruno’s transfer though

He was exchanged to Atletico Madrid for Angel Correa, probably in the end of the Transfer Out list, didn't screenshot that.

Commonly treble consists of

Domestic Cup

European Competition

Domestic League

In this season you haven't won the league. So I guess this isn't considered a treble, but you did win 3 tournaments.

It's my bad because I haven't mentioned it in the Challenge.

I'm unsure about that as well, thanks for clarifying, will edit it.

Great season Kun. Barring any long term injury, I believe Chem will surpass the appearance records of the real Giggs

Greenwood is doing ok considering you aren’t solely focused on him. The younger guys still have time on the side to improve also so going well I think.

Thanks Ian, I made a stupid decision playing Rashford alongside Greenwood upfront, will have to change the formation to a sole striker one next season.

Great season mate.  Flanagan looks the most promising out of Class of '19.

Thanks guys, indeed Flanagan looks like the only one that can reach Premier League level other than Campbell.
