Season 4

We strengthened the full back positions this season with Reece James and Theo Hernandez, and also added two top class midfielders at low prices in Tielemans and Grujic. Few squad members left.

On the pitch we had a fantastic season, albeit missing out on the league on goal difference we had a very successful season in the cup competitions. We had a really nice route to the CL final but then came up against Barca so I didn’t hold out much hope. However........

A slight tweak managed to get us more out of Garcia and Scarpa this season, Perica is very consistent whereas Ntep is our weaker player but still contributes enough.

We managed to break the 200 barrier this season which was a target I didn’t think we could quite get to, and our excellent season on the pitch gives us a few extra games to get stuck into for our final season.

 

Here is our summary after four seasons;

Perica - overall and uncapped: 238

Garcia - overall and uncapped: 185

Scarpa - overall and non striker: 177

Ntep - overall: 112

4 player combined: 712

Great season mate. Season 3 was decent, but you really stepped it up this season. One more to go, make it a strong one mate.

Thanks for your comments guys. Season 5 and our final one of this challenge.

We brought in a couple of top class additions to the first team in Alphonso Davies and Arne Maier, and let a few squad players leave.

On the pitch we didn’t quite win everything, Liverpool beating us the league cup quarters and juve in CL semis. Defensively this tactic needs a lot of work, but offensively it’s pretty decent.

A few crazy games, a record high scoring draw and another striker who misses plenty of penalties.

Here’s how our guys looked and performed in their final season. Ntep aside they were superb for ‘weaker’ players at the top level and certainly did me proud in getting Boro to the top, that’s as good as it gets for us atm 😂

Nice final season with the league title won which looks like it’ll mean you’ve won more or less every trophy you could’ve won at least once.

Great totals for the boys too and it sounds like you’ve really enjoyed it. I’ve enjoyed my attempt too and I think it’s the multiple player thing that’s added something to it.

Thanks Ian, like you say I think the enjoyment comes from being able to use 3/4 players and when chasing goals and assists you’re generally Increasing your tally every game and that keeps you interested.

Cheers scratch! Yeah that game was madness, I just couldn’t stop them scoring but luckily I was able to match them. I love Scarpa and I have come across Perica before but my favourite was my Spanish guy Garcia. He was unknown to me at the start, I was looking for a Spanish wide attacking player, preferably left footed, and there he was. Played in a high IF position on the right he would cut in on his left and score or assist plenty. He was great!

@smoggy90 That was a really good read , always liked Boro even tho I support the Toon , there's something about that Euro run all those years ago! Thought Warnock coming in your results would have picked up this season tho

Anyways back to your Thread , I love the way you show your season results in a excel document , makes it very easy to follow and keep up with the results season by season , the players you have signed are very obscure but turned into world beaters and glad to see you won the Prem by the end of the challenge , losing out on goal difference the season before must of been gutting! 

I love the tactic you are using , it's different to a basic tactic and interesting to see it work in the Premier League , always nice to see some tactical innovation used in the game

All you need now is a signing to resemble this old great!!!

Thanks mate. Afonso Alves, he brings back some memories! Goal machine in Holland, didn’t quite work out here. Goes the same for many of our strikers over the years. 
I have tried to be more creative with tactics, some work and some don’t. This performed well, and I also have an obscure looking strikerless tactic I used for my Jude Bellingham career.  
Fingers crossed Warnock gets us over the line, big game tonight!

Thanks Kane, Perica was great but it was Garcia who I enjoyed using the most. He was a complete unknown to me but was a great performer as a wide right IF. He was left footed and Him cutting in from the flank was a joy to see.
