Career Goals for Greenwood

Welcome to my second 1KC attempt. 
 

The first one, was going well untill sadly due to changing phones I lost that save. 

I have since decided to give it another go, perhaps one last big save untill FMM21 comes along. 

As you can guess from the title, the player choice is obvious, and if you read my post in General Discussion, the team choice was between two Spanish giants. 

As you can see, my chosen club is Real Madrid. 

After looking between the two squads, Barcelona had way to many players out on loan, too big of a squad if that makes sense. 

Season 1

Lets just cut right to the chase, Greenwood had a decent first season; 

34 goals in 36 games. He didnt play every game, due to little injuries and low condition, so going forward hopefully get some more game time while I still get the first few 'bonus' years to score as many as possible. 

Some good improvements by the end of the season, had him on intensive aerial training pretty much all year and was pleased to see a decent boost there. Strength and Stamina still need work, but all in all pleased with how he is progressing. 

Stand out games

Greenwood had two stand out games this year; 

Both cup games...both resulted in a convincing win and 4 goals for our young superstar. 

Transfers;

Alot of money spent, but mostly on young players - hopefully meaning in the next 3-5 windows I wont really have to spend a penny. 

All of the players, apart from Llorente (Who was brought in mainly due mentor Greenwood to help with the aerial boost) & Pellistri played at least 15 times during the season. TAA being the main signing and new RB from the start. 

Decent amount going out too, Benzema being the main one. £80m for a striker, who wont be first choice, and ageing quickly was a no brainer. 

Isco got unhappy at not being played (not using anyone in AM role) so cashed in, Nacho was last year of contract and wouldnt sign so got what I could for him in Jan. 
Rest are pretty much loans to younger players to get experience. 

 

Awards;

Good awards haul, he also got several player of the weeks, but didn't see the need to SS them. 

Highlight was definitely younger player of the year, and hopefully he can go one better soon to claim player of the year completely. 

Competitions;

I did hope, that by going into a more competitive league (Last attempt was Scotland) It would provide more difficulty with the league. I was wrong. my only defeat coming to Barcelona, and a couple of draws with my B team the only negatives of the campaign. Would of liked to hit the 100 goal mark, but winning 34/38 can't be sniffed at. 

Apart from the league, other competitions were a bit rough. Chelsea knocked us out the Champions League, Valencia in the Supercopa, and Barcelona (of course...) int he Copa Del Rey. 

So thats it. Bit of a boring post, but will try and keep it entertaining going forward.

A nice opening season, he’s developing well.

There’s an international bug that may affect you whereby the players that are in the U21’s when you take over stay there and play for the U21 all the time making them too tired for some international games. There’s a work around though where I think in the summer you have to demote every player and then pick a whole new international squad.

It’s explained better somewhere in here around season 3 or 4 by @Foxy who discovered the fix.

That's a very nice start and some very good development from the lad. I reckon he'll be 50+ this season, and it will just get higher and higher from there.

Season 2

As seen in the opening post, the England job was landed at the back end of the first season.

Can clearly see that Greenwood is yet to make a appearance for the first time international wise. 

Turns out, I did have that bug that @Ian mentioned, so had to re-do the squad. 

Greenwood;

There he is at the end of season, just the 5 goals for England (due to bug mentioned above)

He did however have a slightly better season at club level. Played less games, but scored 5 more. (Also, how come it says International 10 goals but on profile 5 goals? - can see screenshots taken on same day)

Competitions;

 

Just the league and a cup again this season, Champions League proving abit difficult to win sadly. 

League, again same as last year, piece of cake. No defeats, still want to get that GF up. 

Awards;

Buckets of awards for our man this year. Can only see this going up/maintaining this level. 

Transfers;

Yes...I know i said i wasn't going to spend, and I wasn't planning too, but then I saw Sane....and Robertson. Couldn't help myself. That, however is my LB/RB sorted for a few years, and with Sancho, my LW/RW sorted. 

Tonali/Fati/Rey all youngsters, Martinez 3rd choice keeper. Sanchez 1/2nd choice CB depending on the game/injuries. 

ALOT more going out that in this year. Mainly loans and frees. 

Hazard the wrong side of 30 for me know so £160m is a cracking price, Mendy got uphappy - hence Robertson coming in. Rest of sold players were only fringe/back up, nothing to worry about there. 

Season 3 has been finished so will be uploaded later today. 

General;

International wise, we had a good run in the nations league competition, only losing to Spain in the final;

Season 3

Just a quick update, as these posts can be boring if the same thing repeated and repeated. 

Greenwood had an excellent season; 

55 goals at club level, 8 at international. Also, was able to play the most games in one season so far. 

End of season profile, pace/shooting/movement all where I need it to be. Still work to be done on stamina and strength, but im sure over the next 2/3 years that will improve (i hope anyway). 

Competitons;

Finally got the Champions league, with a win of Juve; 

Sadly, Greenwood had a injury a few weeks before this game so was unable to play a part.

Not as much spent this year, Foden coming into to hopefully link with Greenwood, and with having the international job, should work quite well. 

Same reasoning behind the signing of James & Bellingham. 

Rest coming in, just cover/back up/youngsters.

Season 4

Going to start this update with details from International management. 

So this happened;

In all fairness, we had a easy run. No major teams till we met France in the semis, which obviously we got through, 1-0 win or something tight like that. 

Greenwood did alright on the big stage for a young lad; 

When i say alright, i mean brilliantly. His first of many (hopefully) world cups. 

Club level;

This was my tightest league season yet. It went down to the final day. We lost a few more than normal, but seems Barcelona had their best season yet in game. Happy to have got over the line. 

Can also see we managed two cups, Super cup against Spurs, and i can't actually remember who we beat in the Supercoa. 

Still struggling with European competitions, hoping as my players grow that will become easier. 

Greenwood;

Not as good as previous years, but still a decent amount scored. 

Add on the 9 goals scored for England, we still managed to hit the 50 mark. 

He did suffer a few injuries throughout the season;

Baro coming in is the main signing this year. As said above, i swapped formations a few times, so had to make sure i have cover for every position, (i kept experimenting with different numbers in a flat midfield)

Usual outgoings - older players, players not going to make it. Onana came in on back up (his contract was back up) but got annoyed at lack of game time so had to get rid.

Bit frustrating not the hit the 200 goal mark, but hopefully my tactics decide to stick and we can push on. Not played for a few days - FMM burnout was definitely taking control, should be getting back into it shortly.
