So close now mate well done.

I have a question! Do you swap them over at all?

I think you have done brilliantly to do this, i say do this because i know you will you do it but to do it without any central strikers is impressive.

Thank you Woody, I did swap them over every so often at the beginning and then kind of favoured Rod on the left and Vini on the right. Later on and after I’d moved the AM off slightly to the left, I ended up favouring them the other way around with Vini on the left and Rod on the right. No real idea why in truth and it’s probably just one of those mini OCD things but I’d like to think now that there’s not much difference from side to side if the two players are both similar in quality. I think I’ll test it properly later once I’m finished up.

Another good season mate, Rod held onto his attributes better than Vini when I used them too.

This is all but wrapped up at this point, KIU your performing great with them as inside forwards

Thanks Aaron, they do seem to be holding out okay at this stage.

Yeah, it’d be a bit of a disaster if they didn’t hit the target in the next season but I suppose we have to wait before celebrating. I’ll try to play the remaining years of their contracts regardless so we can see how they do once they decline as I’m sure they will have by then.

Thank you Dave, hopefully we’ll hit the target next season and after much deliberation I’ve decided I’m going to try and play on until the end of their current contracts. I finished season 15 last night so I’m basically playing a season a day at the moment and with only a maximum of two seasons to go, I should be done by the end of this weekend.

Yeah fair play to you, I really wanted to carry on my triple threat one, but because I haven’t done the double trouble and the 1k challenge I want to get them done. I play a season a day as well, just out of curiosity which one of them three challenge did you find harder and more fun?

I knew that if I stopped playing but kept the save with the idea of coming back to it, that I would more than likely end up not coming back as I’ve tried that before. So, I knew I needed to make a decision and just decided to motor on and get it done. Whether I do another long career before FMM21 remains to be seen as I have a few vague ideas but just not sure I’ve got another one in me, we’ll see I guess.

I think this one has probably been the hardest purely because of going for inside forwards. It’s ended up being quite comfortable in the end but at one point it looked like it might be touch and go. I enjoyed this one the most too and probably due to inside forwards again as I’ve never really tried to create a system like that before so it was quite satisfying to eventually get the system working fairly well.

I think I find the TT the easiest mainly because I find I can get the three positioned, scoring most of the team goals and have the team scoring a good amount of goals. I find with the DT that there’s often one problem player that’ll score too many if I go the bulk team goal route. Then again, on the TT it can be harder to manage the three players in terms of game time with often needing to use all three subs on them which you often can’t manage. So, probably the DT as the hardest for me I think.

Season 15

This was supposed to be the season where our two Brazilians reached their club target of 1,200 goals and let’s face it, it would be a total disaster if they failed to with just 18 goals required from the off.

Anyway, let’s see how the season went.

Club Business

  • Some younger players came in to replace a few older guys and I feel we’re in a reasonable position now in terms of the age of our squad.
  • Liverpool ended our Champions League hopes at the quarter final stage but we won everything else.
  • We had one poor run in April which coincided with us suffering a few injuries but apart from that we were very dominant.
  • And, I’ve spent a colossal £4b on transfers throughout this journey.

The all important 1,200th club was scored by Rod, fairly early on in the season.

It was also Rod who suffered with a few little injuries this year.

The two boys managed a combined 71 goals this season which given Rod’s injury problems must surely be considered as a better return than last year.

The two are declining now and in a strange way as you could say Vini is going south a bit quicker but Rod seems to be losing his pace more rapidly which I feel is a really important attribute for this system.

Final Thoughts

We’ve reached my club goal double trouble target which I’m thrilled with. The two have another two years left on their contracts so my plan is to play those out and then the two can sail off into the sunset and enjoy their retirement.

Thank you all for following along on this journey.

Great stuff mate. Congrats on the Club DT and so so close to a 1.5K DT now. They are looking just a little rusty though! 😄 But no problem for hitting that target. This has been a good one to follow.

Thank you Scratch, they certainly look like they’re about to mega decline but I know by how much as I have finished the final two seasons and it’s just a matter of posting the final update as I’ll do both seasons in one I think.

Cracking stuff Ian, you and they really performed well in this, they are declining for you pretty much identical to the way they declined for me, Rod lost his physicals a lot quicker, but maintained his technicals much better than Vini, maybe there is patterns to growth and decline in attributes after all🤷‍♂️ (is it purely based on the player or is it a lot of factors in one?)

Hello and welcome to the final update of this career where we’ll see what happened in the final two seasons. There wasn’t really much to play for really but I felt I needed to play out their contracts and was also interested to see how they would perform as inside forwards once father time started to kick in so let’s see how the two seasons went.

Season 16

A clean sweep of trophies but a bit of a drop off in team goals which probably shows the decline of the two challengers.

They managed 64 goals between them this season with Vini proving to be very much the main man as he hit 38 of them. Rod’s physical attributes were falling quite rapidly at this stage which is really hindering him in this system I feel but he just about managed to hold off one of our backup inside forwards to take second place in our scoring chart.

Season 17

The team finished things up with another clean sweep and Vini managed a goal in our final game against Man City in the Champions League final.

A drop off in terms of goals with just 46 between the two and it’s safe to say, we’re finishing at the right time as you can see they look rather poor now. Still, we end on a combined total of 1,569 goals which we’re happy with.

Final Thoughts

The career was more or less completed once we reached the 1,200 club goal total but I wanted to play it out and I suppose they added a few more goals to their total so again, we’re happy.

Thank you to @Rob for setting me the challenge, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, thank you to all who have followed along and dropped the odd comment along the way, it’s appreciated as always. Now I just have to decide if I’ve still got another one left in me before FMM21.

Brilliant effort all round Ian, to get that many with no striker is some accomplishment, I’ve enjoyed following this one. Congrats and look forward to your next career!

Wonderful career.

I fully recommend anyone giving this a go to see how blinkin’ hard this is and how @Ian has somehow made it easy. An absolutely trailblazer of a career delivered by one of Vibe’s best.

Great career mate, really enjoyed following this and seeing the success you had with inside forwards, I've used players in those roles a few times on this game and getting them to score has never been easy so the fact yo scored so many goals with them is mighty impressive, congrats mate and I hope you have another one in you for this year's game, good luck with whatever you decide to do. 😊

Well done Ian! Congrats on the 1.5.K mark and great job for seeing it through to the (bitter?) end of their contracts - it's hard to keep going when there is no target to drive you on (and you passed the 1.5 in the second last season).

I echo everyone above that it's a great job to get so many goals out of IFs. Great stuff!

But also, just want to say thanks for the though provoking write ups (and responses to comments), this has been very enjoyable to follow, as well as giving me ideas for things to try out.

Good luck with whatever you do next.

What a career mate. Congrats on the 1.5K. I have not been active in the forums recently but I just read through all the seasons I missed. Fantastic achievement. Very difficult to whoever tries this next.

Thanks Dave, I enjoyed it too and I’ll have to see if there’s something else I want to do before the end of the year.

Thank you Rob, even though this has ended up being quite comfortable, it didn’t look like it was going to be that way earlier on so I think it’s vindicated me going with top players and a top team as I just don’t think I’d have been able to do it with lesser players. I’m very happy with it anyway.

Thank you Aaron, I’ve found the same as you and when I’ve tried to use them in triple threat tactics, they’d hardly score at all. I find the role can be very inconsistent with lesser players but it might’ve been how I was set up previously so I may test this final tactic with some slightly poorer players and see how they perform.

Thanks Scratch, I knew I’d need to play the final two seasons straight away otherwise I’d never come back to it I’m sure so that’s what I did.

I’m glad you found the career enjoyable and if it gets people thinking then it’s all good for me.

I’m just testing a few things at the moment so whether I’ve got one more left in me remains to be seen as it is still early with possibly a couple of months before FMM21 comes out.

Thank you Kane, I’m happy with it but I’m sure others could do better and I think I probably could myself if I gave it another go as I learnt plenty as I was going.

Well done fella. A fantastic career. Hopefully a 2021 installment?

Thank you Woody, yes I think I could possibly give it another go in 2021 with a couple of different players and club.

Great work Ian. Well done.

Thank you Sam.

I haven’t been as active recently as I’m having a mini break but you haven’t seen the back of me yet and I’ll be back in my full glory soon 😂
